Rebirth: Ghost Exorciser

When Chi Lingyan arrived at the Shen family, he was warmly welcomed by Commissar Shen and Mother Shen. In particular, maybe Commissar Shen finally got through to her in the afternoon, but she didn't treat Chi Lingyan with the same cold eyes as before. She did sound enthusiastic, but her enthusiasm and smile didn't reach her eyes.     

Chi Lingyan's expression was restrained. At that moment, Commissar Shen said, "Lingyan, are you worried about Rongyin? She's fine now. Go upstairs and see her!"     

Chi Lingyan was very against entering a woman's personal room. He did want to draw a line between himself and the Shen family and Shen Rongyin, but Shen Rongyin had saved him once. No matter how unwilling he was, he had to go upstairs to see her.     

Before entering the room, Chi Lingyan looked at the door. Soon, Shen Rongyin's gentle voice rang out. "Come in!"     

Shen Rongyin was half-lying on the bed. When she saw Chi Lingyan come in, her pale face lit up with excitement. "Brother Chi, you came to see me? Why so sudden?"     

Shen Rongyin feigned helplessness. In order to avoid arousing suspicion, Chi Lingyan didn't close the door after pushing it open. He took the initiative to ask about her injuries and thanked her personally.     

Shen Rongyin was a bit shy. "Brother Chi, whatever I do for you, I do with a willing heart!"     

Chi Lingyan choked and looked very embarrassed. He didn't understand why Shen Rongyin had taken such a fancy to him, and the atmosphere immediately fell silent.

Shen Rongyin apologized to Chi Lingyan again, which moved him. Without waiting for Chi Lingyan to speak, Shen Rongyin continued, "I don't expect you to agree to be with me out of gratitude; I just hope that you won't stop me from continuing to like you!"     

This was the first woman to confess so ardently to Chi Lingyan. His marriage to Yan Yan's mother had also been through a matchmaker.     

In the face of another sincere confession from Shen Rongyin, Chi Lingyan was moved and embarrassed. For a moment, he didn't know what to say. Whatever the case, he was now in his forties and wasn't an inexperienced brat.     

Chi Lingyan wanted to speak, but hesitated. When he thought of his own daughter, the emotions in his eyes faded and he regained some of his calm. It wouldn't be good to reject her outright this time. After confirming that the other party's injuries weren't serious, he didn't stay long, and prepared to leave.

Chi Lingyan said, "Thank you, Miss Shen!"     

Chi Lingyan was about to leave, when Shen Rongyin said, "Brother Chi, when will you come and see me again?" Without waiting for Chi Lingyan to speak, Shen Rongyin continued, "It's fine if you're busy!"     

Shen Rongyin was as humble as she could be. Chi Lingyan was helpless and could only say that he would come and see her when he had the time!     

"Okay, Brother Chi, I'll wait for you!" Shen Rongyin said happily!
