Pengfei felt a huge relief after finally stopping in taking over as 'Shao Cheng' after the entire Shao Family returned on their visit to the Sacred Mountain. The other person who had been pretending to be 'Shao Cheng' needed to pass the entire task to Pengfei in order to fulfill his own duty and responsibility given by their Master.     

Meaning, leaving the Capital with the oldest son of the Shao family, Shao Yan, since his break is almost due, and he needed to return to his post in the military. Thus, leaving Pengfei to interact with the Shao Family, who miraculously could tell that they aren't facing the genuine 'Shao Cheng' by instinct alone.     

Honestly, this entire family is a lunatic in their own way! There is definitely a reason a person like his Master, is born in their family!

There is an entire reason Pengfei could survive despite being hunted down by that snake all these years when he was still weak and helpless.     

And yet, facing the Shao family brand new of insanity and their overly obsession with their sibling/son to the point that they can tell that there is something wrong with him has been a humbling experience.

After all, one guard shouldn't lower down despite knowing how the Shao Family had already done a massive clean-up of their people after the 'sudden kidnapping' incident during the New Year Celebration.     

Fortunately, they seemed to have caught on to the fact that he wasn't pretending to be their brother/son with malicious intent that they didn't go ballistic the moment they sensed something amiss about him.     

But they are still a pain to deal with after the torture they have given him after no one is looking. Oh, those deadly glares, the sharp and pointy accessories turned weapons in their hands, and then those white fluffy rabbits led by that shameless pink rabbit.     

Pengfei had never known those fluffy rabbits could be deadly.     

And then somehow, the chubby wolf is a sly little animal, letting Pengfei know he could be bribed with delicious food to behave nicely.     

Yeah… Pengfei should start looking for another skilled person for his Master to use whenever he disappeared somewhere without letting know of what he is doing.     

He doesn't want to be the substitute anymore after the past few day's experience.     

"Your younger sister had almost gone ballistic though. Such a feisty little sister you got there, I almost thought my head would have flown off the moment her hand reached over the short sword she was carrying for training."     

Shao Cheng sitting upon a chair and rereading all the important reports that had accumulated after he was gone couldn't help but raise his eyebrow at that, which was the only reaction he showed during the entire time Pengfei was chattering nonstop for the past thirty minutes after his arrival.     

"That's surprising, Little Chia detests me the most."     

After all, in the entire Shao family, it was Little Chia, who was showing the normal reaction a person should have after Shao Cheng's sudden change of attitude toward his family after all the years of being indifferent, cold, and cruel toward them.     

He understands and accepts such reactions coming from his younger sister. So, he was honestly surprised to learn of how Little Chia reacted the most among his siblings regarding letting others pretend as him.     

"Oh? It's nice to know that Young Master Cheng is not always right all the time."     

Pengfei smirks before reaching over and taking a sip of the newly invented small glass, completely different from the delicate and elegant porcelain ware usually used for nobility or with a high rank in the table before feeling the nice burning sensation as another newly invented alcohol runs down smoothly on his throat.     

"Damn, My Lord, how come you got a lot of interesting ideas in your head? This newly invented sake and beautiful glass is going to sell well to the wealthy merchants and nobles all over the Empires!"     

Shao Cheng ignores the way Pengfei keeps changing on how he addresses him before taking the scroll he just finished writing and throwing it to the babbling young man.     

"Leave no evidence behind. The mastermind behind the sudden emergence of an unknown Merchant needed to remain hidden to all the Empires who will definitely investigate it."     

"Yeah, I'll definitely make sure that no one could learn who has been inventing all these new items all over the Empires. They won't get any clue about the sudden appearance of a rising power around too."     

Pengfei nodded his head with a serious expression in his eyes despite the playful smirk on his lip. After all, he already understands that whatever the end goal of the person before him, as long as this beautiful young man doesn't fail, then his own goal would also be fulfilled.     

Pengfei's fate and destiny are already tied up to this person's success.     

"Don't worry my Icy friend, I left countless fake leads behind. And if someone can bypass all of it and seems to get close to the real truth. Well, they will only end up learning a wrong person associated with a certain Empire."     

Shao Cheng nodded his head, and after knowing the identity of Pengfei and the reason he had been running away. He wasn't even surprised with how careful and fastidious Pengfei handled everything.     

After all, their plan of amassing a huge amount of wealth and resources is something they need for what they are planning in the future, especially when Shao Cheng's concern will not be about the Chang Empire.     

Honestly, he can't still figure out the real reason for the other deals he had with the Chang Spirit because there is definitely something deeper behind it.     

"Wouldn't it make it easier for My Lord if some Empires trouble and weaken each other while we just watch from the sideline? They will do all the work for us."     

Suddenly, the playful grin on Pengfei's face is replaced with a nasty and cruel expression, completely showing his lack of concern about the consequences of his actions. After all, countless lives will be lost even at a small scale of trouble between Empires.     

And yet, Shao Cheng didn't feel uncomfortable at the young man's lack of empathy.

There is also the fact that Pengfei's goal doesn't go against what Shao Cheng wanted, so it's a bonus. Besides, it's not like being suspicious and doubtful had stopped Shao Cheng from using, manipulating, and controlling some people to do his work in the previous life.

Although, for a paranoid person, there is no way that Shao Cheng would only create one organization though. There are bound to be countless small or large organizations spread out there that only he will know just in case something went wrong.     

He will always be meticulous and have preparation for countless emergencies for the worse part.     

It's better to be prepared than to be sorry, and leaving a way out is something he prefers to do.
