Two Contracts - My Lover is a CEO

Released the Movie

Released the Movie

Yang Fanxu's movie was released fifteen days later with a lot of fanfare. An entire hall was booked by the producers for the first day for the fans to watch it for free. That day almost all the main cast of the movie had come to watch it. That promotion was so successful that the movie earned a lot of money after first two days of releasing it with cinema houses having packed audience.

On the other hand even though Wu Lina's movie had finished later than Yang Fangxu's, the editor did a good job. He quickly kept editing the movie. With Wu Lina closely watching the entire process, they could do it perfectly. The movie was released a week later than Yang Fangxu's.

It was a low production movie and Wu Lina did not opt for as large as an opening compared to Yang Fangxu. The first two days showed very slow progress.

Wu Lina was beginning to get disheartened when on the third day she read a review in the newspaper about her movie. It was from one of the top critics of the industry and he had given the movie and 4.5 on 5 star review. He praised the movies pace, storyline and said that it was so fresh to see something so lighthearted as compared to all the historical dramas that the audience had been watching over time.

The best part was that he had only reviewed Wu Lina's movie and there was almost quarter of a page splashed across with its pictures and the main cast's photos. Ivan had become an overnight sensation in the country.

There was also a small review of Yang Fangxu's movie along with two more, each of them sharing limited space and having no more than 2.5 stars. Yang Fangxu's movie was rated at 2 stars. The critics had been brutal to her movie. They said it was such a cliché, each and every scene was as though it had been borrowed from other movies. There was no originality and it seemed liked the audience were forced to watch the rehashed version of several movies with too many plots and sub-plots thrown in, making it a mess.

Over the week Yang Fangxu's movie's collections dwindled so much that they didn't even cover her production cost. She was at her wits end, when one by one the movie halls started reducing her show times and increased Wu Lina's movie's show times to three to four shows a day.

By the end of the week, Wu Lin'a movie had collected four times over her production cost. The cinema owners were ecstatic over the fact that finally a movie was there that was loved by the audience so much. The movie left the audience in splits and many of them watched it several times.

During the next week the movie remained in the cinema halls even though most of the movies that were released during that time were taken off. The TV channels wanted to show the movie on their channels and had offered Wu Lina large amount of money, but Wu Lina was reluctant. Her marketing team had asked her not to release it on TV for sometime.

Wu Lina started getting messages from online movie giants like Netflix to produce her next movie exclusively for them.

The mayor was overjoyed. He hadn't expected this kind of reaction from the audience. He received congratulatory messages from thousands of people from across the country.

Same was the case with Yang Xinyu. He was surprised at the way movie had picked up. Even he received numerous messages from people he knew. Many of them wanted to meet Wu Lina.

Yang Xinyu wanted to celebrate this feat, however, he wanted this privately with only Wu Lina and his father. He decided to reserve tables for them in one of the new restaurants that were coming up. He informed about his plans to them.

The mayor was in the mood of giving a grand party to all his family and acquaintances. The father and son had an argument over that. Eventually it was decided that Yang Xinyu would dine with them privately first and then the party would be given. Amidst all this Wu Lina was only a spectator.

Ivan had started receiving a large number of offers from movie production houses. He even landed up with many advertisements for baby products.

His company 'Epic Entertainment' recommended only good products to advertise for. The other stars that were signed up with Wu Lina's company had also started getting good offers. It was just the beginning.

For Yang Fangxu, the downfall had just begun. Debtors lined up her house to ask her for money. Even though she had used most of her money for producing the movie, she had asked for some external help, which was in millions of Yuan. Her movie had been removed from almost all movie halls across the country.
