Chapter 141- Trinity – A God’s Assistance Part 2 (VOLUME 6)

Trinity

I swear I saw a smirk on Odin's face before he turned away from me. I knew that he had heard what had gone through my mind. It was like he had known exactly what I wanted to tell him, but wasn't able to tell him it out loud.

I wondered if that was something that worked for all Gods and Goddesses, or was it specific to him. I mean, they did say that Gods could hear your prayers, perhaps that was what had happened here.

"How dare you speak to me like that?!" Orson screamed the words in response to Odin's outburst.

"I will call what you said bullshit because that is what it is. You spout this nonsense, talking about how Trinity and her people are the monsters and brutes. Tell me, what did she do wrong? In all her time, she has never once intentionally hurt another person, bombed anyone, or tried to hurt and oppress the innocent."

"That's right!" Lara, who dared to brave the chance of interrupting a God to give her opinion on the matter. "All she's ever done is try to help people. They even help investigate crimes to protect people."

"Thank you, human." Odin looked at Lara directly, the full intensity of his stare bearing down on her. It hadn't seemed to affect Orson, but it made Lara look as if she was being overwhelmed. Was it because Lara had faith in Odin and other Gods while Orson didn't believe in anyone or anything that wasn't himself and his ideals?

"I..I am sorry for interrupting you, King Odin." She bowed her head and looked apologetic almost instantly.

"No need to worry, human. I am not upset. You were standing up for Trinity, the same as I was doing."

Odin took a step back and faced the humans that I had protected, the ones that Orson had nearly killed. He swept his gaze over them and ignored Orson for the moment.

"All of you owe your lives to Trinity. Even those of you that came here to protest as to why she should not be allowed to live amongst you. You owe your lives to her and her people, because they are here to protect you and keep you safe. If you needed any more proof than what existed prior to the events of this afternoon, you have only to look at the fact that that man there, a human, was willing to kill you all, but Trinity wants nothing more than to make sure that all of you, even Orson and his men, make it out of here alive."

"Sh..sh..she did save us." One of the anti supers said in a timid voice. "She flew us away from the trucks and over here to safety."

"She stopped the bullets when they were shooting at us too. Th..that man, the leader of the DOE, he tried to kill us multiple times, but she saved us. Sh..she really is a good person." It's funny how it took a twelve foot tall God to make them see what I had been trying to tell them this whole time. I just shook my head and thought about it a bit more. Maybe it was also because he was a man, and I am a woman. And also, I was not twelve feet tall.

"That is what I am trying to tell you. And that is why I told that man that what he previously stated was bullshit!"

"STOP SAYING THAT!" Orson demanded as he screamed at Odin. "STOP IGNORING ME AND STOP FILLING THEIR HEADS WITH LIES! YOU ARE NOT A GOD! YOU ARE JUST SOMETHING THAT THAT WITCH BITCH SATAN SPAWN HELL SLUT MONSTER WHORE CONJURED WITH HER MAGIC! YOU ARE NOT REAL!"

"You are a truly vile man, do you know that?" Odin faced Orson and leaned down to face him. "You have very foul words and a nasty disposition. I am a War God, I usually do not step in when humans are fighting like this, but I am stepping in now. What does that say to you, tiny human? What does it mean to you that a God that usually lets the human race do as they please is stepping in to stop you?"

"I DO NOT FUCKING CARE WHAT IT MEANS THAT YOU ARE HERE! YOU ARE NOT A GOD! YOU ARE NOT POWERFUL! YOU ARE AN ILLUSION THAT SHE IS USING TO TRICK US! YOU ARE JUST A FIGMENT OF HER IMAGINATION! AND WHEN I BLAST YOU TO DUST, THE OTHERS WILL SEE THAT YOU ARE NOTHING BUT THEIR IMAGINATIONS BEING MANIPULATED BY THAT MONSTER BITCH!"

"Hahh!" Odin sighed and looked quite exhausted after just a few moments of dealing with Orson. I could tell that this was why he had stepped in. There was no way that I could talk the man down, and he had a trigger finger that was itching to blast away anyone that stood in his way. "You're quite taxing, you know that?" Odin was rubbing his temples as he shrunk himself down to a slightly more normal size. He was now standing at about seven feet tall, a little more than Trevor's height. "What will it take for you to understand that everything that you think you know is wrong and that you actually have no idea what is going on in the world?"

I could see what Odin had wanted to do. As he stepped closer to Orson, he was intending on putting his hand on Orson's shoulder and speaking to him in a sort of man to man, one on one, mono e mono situation. The problem is, Orson knew what he was doing as well, and he stepped away and pointed his gun in Odin's face.

Odin didn't look angry, not really. He looked more annoyed. He had probably been watching for a while before he had arrived, so he knew that the gun was empty. However, Orson was hoping that he was able to trick the God into believing that he was in danger from the gun.

I am not sure what Orson was really thinking. He had said that Odin wasn't real, so wouldn't that mean that Odin couldn't be shot by the gun? And if he believed that Odin could be shot, because he really was here, did he believe that Odin was actually the God that he claimed to be? What was it that was going through that man's mind? He was so all over the place that it was hard for me to even fathom what his thought processes were.

"That little trinket wouldn't harm me even if there were rounds within its chamber."

"How did you know it was empty?" Orson grinned smugly as he asked Odin this question. "That witch bitch monster whore over there knew because she was here, but you were not. How then, did you know that it was empty?"

"I am a God, tiny mortal. I have watched this altercation since it began. I watched you attempting to fire the empty gun repeatedly."

"Uh huh, yeah, sure. Like I am going to believe that." Orson scoffed. "You know because she knows, because she made you and you're not real. That is why I am not going to let you touch me, that will be the same thing as letting that disgusting, disease infested, monster bitch touch me. And that I will not abide by." He had the audacity to shudder like I was something truly vile and revolting. That asshat! Who the hell did he think he was?

"Calm down, Little Bunny." Reece whispered to me and that was when I realized that I was letting some of my anger show. My fur was starting to shine through just a little bit, but I managed to bring it back under control at his words.

"Thanks, Reece." I nodded at him.

"That man is a crazy son of a bitch, don't let what he says get to you."

"I know." I spoke between my teeth and snarled under my breath. "I'm just pissed at him, that's all."

"We all are, Trinity." Vincent said without moving closer. "He's a nasty piece of work, but you don't need to let his words get to you. You know the truth just as much as we do."

"We're here for you, Trinity." Shawn encouraged me to stay in control as well.

"You are here for us, Trinity, and we are here for you. Never forget that." Dietrich added his words.

"Twenty years and counting, Trinity. We will never abandon you. And you are none of the things that he is calling you." David said with an uplifting tone.

"Well, I know that Reece has called you a bit-."

"Hey!" Reece snapped at him under his breath.

"It's natural. We all do it. And that doesn't make her a bad person."

"Reece?" I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, letting the little playful moment break the rest of the tension.

"I didn't! I swear, Little Bunny."

"Suuurrreee." Shane dragged the word out as he laughed at Reece's panic.

"Don't worry, Reece, I've called you an asshole. We're even."

"What?" He looked like he had not known that after all these years.

"Thank you, all of you. You helped to break the tension that was building inside of me." I instantly felt a sense of calm wash over me. I knew that it wasn't anything magical, it was just the way that these people made me feel. Safe. Secure. Protected. And powerful. They had the ability to make me feel all of this and more.
