"Congratulations to all of you, you have ascended. You are now beings of the Celestial Realm. You are now my children, and you may come to me when you need my help. I am happy to have you among my ranks." Odin was smiling at them, a look of pure fatherly joy in his eyes. I believe that he was even crying a little. At the very least, his eyes were misting just a little so that there was a slight redness in them.

"Thank you, Odin. Thank you so much." Trevor was beaming at him. I knew that he could feel the power coursing through him. I knew that power well, so did the others around me that had ascended.

"You are welcome, young God. I appreciate your acceptance to join my court." Odin bowed his head to him.

"Odin?" I called out to him. "Might I ask why you didn't offer Dietrich or Shawn an ascension, with them being here as you requested?"

"That is because I requested that they be here." Selene smiled at them. "You see, the others were ascending and gaining the ability to turn others into their kind. My people already had that ability."

"Yes, I wondered why I was here when that had been brought up. And I am sure that, soon enough, Odin will explain to the others what those rules he mentioned before were. Still, it has nothing to do with me."

"That is correct." Selene told him with a smile. "Dietrich, my prized child, Dietrich, I thank you and your mate Shawn for being here. You see, when I made you my King, I technically demoted you." Selene laughed. "The others were calling you their Emperor, but then you dropped in rank to a King. Mind you, the Vampire Emperor was not an official title."

"Yes, but I was fine with that. I didn't care about titles anyway."

"And that is why I appreciate you so much, Dietrich. You are a man of action, not titles. I knew that I had made the right choice in choosing you. And I have another request of you." She stepped closer to both Shawn and Dietrich, cupping their cheeks and looking at them each individually. "I wish that I could ascend you both, but Dietrich my child, I ask that you please take over for me. I too wish to be reborn after so many millennia in the same form. You will then be known as the Vampire God." Selene gave him a smirk.

"Worry not, Selene, I have a new position for Shawn to fill." Odin stepped closer to him. "This will not be accepting an old God soul, but the creation of a new one."

"A..a new one?" Shawn looked a little worried at the King of the Gods.

"Worry not, Shawn. This is something that you are meant for. I, Odin, King of the Gods, choose you, Shawn Asher-Conrad as the new God of Hybrids. I give you the domain over those that do not fit in any one category. They need you, Shawn. Will you accept?"

"Y..yes. Yes, I will accept."

"And what about you Dietrich, will you accept my offer?" Selene asked him in a calm and loving tone.

"Yes, Selene my Goddess, I will."

"Then take my power, Dietrich, accept my soul." She pressed a hand against his forehead at the same time that Odin put both hands in front of Shawn. There was another flash of light that filled the room, a little shorter than before but no less intense.

When the light faded, Selene was gone. Shawn, Dietrich, and Odin remained, and there was definitely power inside both of my friends that hadn't been there before.

"You have both now ascended. Thank you both for becoming my children." Odin lowered his head for another second before raising it and looking at the gathered group. "You are all now among my children, and I hope that you will all take that responsibility seriously."

"We will." They all seemed to echo at the same time.

"Now, those rules that I mentioned." Odin took his seat again and started to explain things to them all. "Landon, Noir, Abraham, Trevor, Gloriana, Valerian and Daciana, you are all the top in your fields. And you can all now make new beings like yourself. The process of making new members of your people will be simple enough, and something that comes to you on instinct. New witches, gypsies, warlocks, and so on can be granted powers. New Fae can be granted the power of nature. New birds, bears and felines. Even new sea dwellers. They could all become a different subspecies in your groups, and the outcome of what they will become depends on their soul and personality."

"That means if they want to be one thing and don't achieve that, it is their fault, not ours?" Trevor asked.

"Exactly. And you are not to start changing people for no reason. You can help people that are dying and you feel the world cannot live without. You can change people that have mated with a nonhuman and desires to spend all of eternity with them. You cannot just change people because they ask for it. I know that this isn't a very firm law, but we cannot upset the balance that you have in the world. If the entire population changed into something else, we would potentially be putting near unlimited power in the hands of people that will abuse that ability. I ask that you use your better judgement here."

"Yes, we understand." Athair mòr nodded. "I can imagine that creating new nonhumans is something that we want to do sparingly, and to hide from the humans."

"Thank you for the understanding, Valerian. That is certainly the way that we need to keep things."

"So, saving lives that we deem worthy and matings. Those should be the only reasons. Unless we have some other reason that we think trumps the rules, but I do not believe that we should do that often." Landon seemed to be more than willing to accept his responsibility.

"Well said." Noir nodded at his words. "Now, I have questions about these new forms of ours." She narrowed her eyes at Odin and wondered what he might have meant.

"You all have a new form. For you, Noir, who already could change feet and grow wings at the same time, did not get a were-form. You did, however, gain a new bird form. You are now the second known phoenix in existence."

"Way to go." Reece called out to her. "I love my phoenix form."

"Thank you, Odin." She smiled and sat back.

"Landon and Trevor, you both gained a Lycan like were-form. You will now be able to become a beast man that is partial animal and partial human. Abraham, you already had multiple forms, so you have been granted a new dragon form. You are no longer confined to just the waters. I have granted you a winged form that will fly through the skies. You will be able to do so much more now."

"Thank you, King Odin." He was not talking much, but there was a lot that seemed to be going on in his head.

"Gloriana, you are a Fae, and one of the light at that. You are now able to turn into the light itself. You will need to explore this ability of yours on your own, but I thank you for accepting it."

"Thank you." She accepted his words.

"Valerian, you already controlled the water, and you were able to become one with them, but you now have multiple sea creature forms, so that you can go anywhere in the water. And you are able to become the waves themselves."

"I will use my abilities well." He bowed his head with a smile.

"Daciana, you are a magic user. They typically do not have animal forms, aside from what the movies tell us." He grinned at her. "You can now take on the form of any familiar that you would like, big or small. I know that traditionally, cats are associated with magic users, but you are not limited to that alone."

"I thank you." She also bowed to him.

There was a lot that had happened here today. So many people ascended and gained new powers. Odin had indeed come here for a positive reason. And now there were more people in this world that knew what it was like to be a celestial being. I was glad that they were all willing to accept these positions. And I was wondering how they were going to be using them in the future.

"Oh, I want you all to know." Odin called out to them almost as if it were an after though. "I want you all to know that when it is time for you to move on, when you no longer wish to hold your positions, you will need to find the souls to take over for you, just like the others did. And until you choose that path, there is nothing in this world that can kill you." He smirked as he looked at me and likely pointed out all the times that Reece and the others were worried about my safety.

"Now, with that being said, let's get some lunch." Odin clapped his hands together. "I am starved." His laugh was so surreal and unexpected that it made several of us jump and then laugh. Again, so much had happened, and we had learned so many things. Things that would affect the way that we lived our lives in the future.
