Money Loving CEO's Detective Lover

Bunny CEO

Bunny CEO

Jongin‌ ‌was‌ ‌at‌ ‌his‌ ‌desk,‌ ‌reading‌ ‌the‌ ‌files‌ ‌Minho‌ ‌had‌ ‌handed‌ ‌him‌ ‌the‌ ‌day‌ ‌before.‌ ‌He‌ ‌had‌ ‌stayed‌ ‌awake‌ ‌all‌ ‌night,‌ ‌cancelling‌ ‌a‌ ‌date‌ ‌with‌ ‌his‌ ‌new‌ ‌girlfriend‌ ‌to‌ ‌finish‌ ‌the‌ ‌work.‌ ‌Jongin‌ ‌cursed‌ ‌the‌ ‌money‌ ‌lover‌ ‌who‌ ‌dumped‌ ‌all‌ ‌his‌ ‌work‌ ‌on‌ ‌him.‌ ‌At‌ ‌this‌ ‌rate,‌ ‌he‌ ‌was‌ ‌going‌ ‌to‌ ‌die‌ ‌a‌ ‌bachelor!‌ ‌

 ‌

Will‌ ‌I‌ ‌ever‌ ‌get‌ ‌a‌ ‌girlfriend?"‌ ‌he‌ ‌wondered‌ ‌in‌ ‌dismay.‌ ‌Lia‌ ‌came‌ ‌up‌ ‌to‌ ‌him,‌ ‌staring‌ ‌at‌ ‌the‌ ‌insane‌ ‌workload‌ ‌Jongin‌ ‌was‌ ‌dealing‌ ‌with.‌ ‌

 ‌

"Tsk‌ ‌tsk,"‌ ‌she‌ ‌remarked.‌ ‌"Does‌ he‌ ‌pay‌ ‌you‌ ‌enough‌ ‌for‌ ‌all‌ ‌this?"‌ ‌

 ‌

"If‌ ‌he‌ ‌hadn't,‌ ‌I'd‌ ‌have‌ ‌left‌ ‌this‌ ‌place‌ ‌long‌ ‌ago,"‌ ‌Jongin‌ ‌sighed.‌ ‌"But‌ ‌my‌ ‌love‌ ‌life‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌mess‌ ‌because‌ ‌of‌ ‌that‌ ‌guy!"‌ ‌

 ‌

"The‌ ‌new‌ ‌one‌ ‌is‌ ‌leaving‌ ‌too‌ ‌huh?"‌ ‌Lia‌ ‌asked.‌ ‌

 ‌

"Probably,"‌ ‌Jongin‌ ‌sighed.‌ ‌"If‌ ‌only‌ ‌someone‌ ‌could‌ ‌control‌ ‌that‌ ‌money‌ ‌lover!‌ ‌It's‌ ‌not‌ ‌fair!‌ ‌How‌ ‌come‌ ‌he‌ ‌gets‌ ‌to‌ ‌have‌ ‌a‌ ‌love‌ ‌life‌ ‌while‌ ‌we‌ ‌suffer?"‌ ‌

 ‌

"Well,‌ ‌fate‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ ‌strange,"‌ ‌Lia‌ ‌commented.‌ ‌"You'll‌ ‌see‌ ‌that‌ ‌one‌ ‌day,‌ ‌the‌ ‌Vesudas‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌forced‌ ‌to‌ ‌face‌ ‌his‌ ‌karma."‌ ‌

 ‌

"Well,‌ ‌I‌ ‌made‌ ‌ten‌ ‌million‌ ‌for‌ ‌him‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌night‌ ‌so‌ ‌might‌ ‌cut‌ ‌me‌ ‌some‌ ‌slack‌ ‌today,"‌ ‌Jonging‌ ‌said.‌ ‌"I‌ ‌hope."‌ ‌

 ‌

"You‌ ‌know‌ ‌what‌ ‌he'll‌ ‌say,"‌ ‌Lia‌ ‌said.‌ ‌She‌ ‌stood‌ ‌upright‌ ‌to‌ ‌mimic‌ ‌Minho.‌ ‌"Ten‌ ‌million?‌ ‌Pft!‌ ‌I‌ ‌can‌ ‌make‌ ‌over‌ ‌twenty‌ ‌million‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌night!"‌ ‌

 ‌

Jongin‌ ‌scowled‌ ‌at‌ ‌her‌ ‌apt‌ ‌mimicry.‌ ‌That‌ ‌was‌ ‌exactly‌ ‌what‌ ‌Minho‌ ‌would‌ ‌say‌ ‌before‌ ‌dumping‌ ‌thousands‌ ‌of‌ ‌other‌ ‌work‌ ‌on‌ ‌him.‌ ‌The‌ ‌money‌ ‌lover‌ ‌really‌ ‌had‌ ‌no‌ ‌mercy‌ ‌when‌ ‌it‌ ‌came‌ ‌to‌ ‌business.‌ ‌Only‌ ‌his‌ ‌daughter‌ ‌Jina‌ ‌and‌ ‌recently,‌ ‌his‌ ‌girlfriend,‌ ‌the‌ ‌detective,‌ ‌could‌ ‌straighten‌ ‌him‌ ‌out.‌ ‌ ‌

 ‌

"Ugh!‌ ‌I‌ ‌wish‌ ‌a‌ ‌day‌ ‌came‌ ‌when‌ ‌we‌ ‌get‌ ‌to‌ ‌see‌ ‌the‌ ‌Vesudas‌ ‌suffer!"‌ ‌Jongin‌ ‌complained.‌ ‌"Six‌ ‌years‌ ‌I've‌ ‌worked‌ ‌for‌ ‌him‌ ‌and‌ ‌he‌ ‌never‌ ‌had‌ ‌a‌ ‌single‌ ‌embarrassing‌ ‌moment!"‌ ‌

 ‌

"He's‌ ‌very‌ ‌meticulous,"‌ ‌Lia‌ ‌commented.‌ ‌"You‌ ‌really‌ ‌think‌ ‌that‌ ‌he's‌ ‌going‌ ‌to‌ ‌have‌ ‌an‌ ‌embarrassing‌ ‌moment?‌ ‌We‌ ‌both‌ ‌know‌ ‌very‌ ‌well‌ ‌that‌ ‌he‌ ‌insists‌ ‌on‌ ‌maintaining‌ ‌his‌ ‌image‌ ‌because‌ ‌it‌ ‌makes‌ ‌money‌ ‌for‌ ‌him."‌ ‌

 ‌

Jongin‌ ‌could‌ ‌only‌ ‌cry‌ ‌in‌ ‌despair‌ ‌and‌ ‌seeing‌ ‌his‌ ‌workload‌ ‌only‌ ‌made‌ ‌him‌ ‌cry‌ ‌more.‌ ‌Would‌ ‌a‌ ‌day‌ ‌ever‌ ‌come‌ ‌when‌ ‌the‌ ‌money‌ ‌lover‌ ‌would‌ ‌end‌ ‌up‌ ‌in‌ ‌an‌ ‌excruciatingly‌ ‌embarrassing‌ ‌situation‌ ‌which‌ ‌would‌ ‌bring‌ ‌joy‌ ‌to‌ ‌their‌ ‌lives?‌ ‌

 ‌

Suddenly‌ ‌his‌ ‌phone‌ ‌buzzed.‌ ‌Jongin‌ ‌picked‌ ‌it‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌desk‌ ‌to‌ ‌see‌ ‌that‌ ‌it‌ ‌was‌ ‌Driver‌ ‌Jang's‌ ‌text.‌ ‌

 ‌

"Is‌ ‌the‌ ‌Vesudas‌ ‌here?"‌ ‌L‌ia asked.

"Yeah, but there's something else," Jongin said, frowning. He held up the phone for her to read the text.

"Vesudas is here," she read out loud. "Whatever happens, don't laugh."

"Don't laugh?" she echoed. "What does he mean?"

But Jongin was as equally stupefied. Why would they laugh? Laughing at the Vesudas was akin to courting death.

As if answering their questions, the door to the elevator opened. The employees, who were busy with their work, looked up to greet their boss but before any of them could say anything, their mouths hung open in shock.

Stepping out of the elevator was Minho, wearing a full body bunny costume. The pink and fluffy costume also had a furry tail on the back along with long ears which were swaying in the air as Minho marched ahead. The employees stared in shock as their disgruntled and highly embarrassed boss walked through the lane, trying to act normal but failing miserably.

Lia and Jongin, who were talking inside their CEO's room, turned around to greet him when they heard the door opening.

"Good morning-" they both were about to greet but froze mid-sentence. Seeing their CEO dressed as a pink bunny mascot shocked them to their very core. Lia felt she was about to have a heart attack while Jongin began to recite all the prayers he knew. They tried their best not to laugh out loud but their lips were treading on dangerous territories, almost betraying them.

"Where are the agreement for the vendors at H-mall?" Minho demanded, ignoring their suppressed laughter.

"Er…they're here…sir," Jongin somehow managed to say. It was taking him all his willpower to control his laughter but it was impossible. The CEO looked so embarrassed and even though he pretended that everything was normal, there was a red tint on his cheeks.

Minho could feel the eyes on him and no matter how much he tried to brush them off, it was eating him alive. He had millions of meetings and investors to woo. Yet, Jeon Gayoon imposed her punishment on him by making him wear that ridiculous costume!

"I'll sign all of them," he said. "Also, send me the plans for the children's corner we want to launch at H-mall. I want to see results! The previous plans they showed me are worthless. Where are the new ones?"

"Sir, the plans are not ready," Jongin replied. He still could not get over the ridiculous outfit Minho was wearing and it was hard to keep a straight face.

"The investors are waiting for our results!" Minho exclaimed. "Why aren't the plans ready?"

"Sir, we have a draft," Lia supplied. "But they still need your approval."

Minho looked at them and to his disappointment, the plan was still not up to the mark. They needed something more but his head was wrapped around the stupid bunny costume Gayoon made him wear.

"We'll have to visit the spot today," Jongin said, suppressing another snicker. "The investors want the ideas for the children's theme park by today."

It was hard to take the CEO seriously when he was wearing that thing. Instead of the volcanic yet enigmatic tycoon with a knack to make money, Hwang Minho looked like an angry kitty cat.

"Can't it be rescheduled?" Minho groaned.

"No sir," Lia replied. "You'll have to go there today."

It was not entirely true though. They could have postponed the meeting but it was an opportunity too good to miss. After all, who would not want to see the infamous Vesudas roaming around the mall in a bunny costume? They might even rope in some kids to laugh at him.

"Fine!" Minho grumbled. "We'll go there."

The stupid costume was making him feel irritated. He glanced at the side mirror he kept on his desk and wanted to bury himself alive. If it was not for Gayoon's punishment, he would have never agreed to wear this childish thing!

Childish costume! Childish detective! Childish…

Suddenly an idea struck him. He glanced at the mirror again, his head formulating a plan to make more money. Slowly, his lips curved into a smile as he eyed the two guinea pigs standing in front of him.

He leaned forward with a serious look in his eyes. The prospect of meeting investors in that hideous costume was an outrageous idea but he had a backup plan which would make the embarrassment bearable for him.

"I think I have a plan," he said. Lia and Jongin were alarmed at the evil gleam which was flashing through his eyes as he looked at them. A sinister smile was playing on his lips and they were dreading his next words.

What was the money lover about to do?

…

An hour later, the executives from Hwang Constructions entered H-mall with Minho leading them. The shoppers who were there could only gape at the strange group which had just entered. Jongin and Lia were highly embarrassed at their CEO's activities and wanted to desperately get out of there while the other managers were also crying inwardly.

The investors for the children's theme park were waiting for them at the mall's back-end office. As soon as the management from Hwang Constructions entered, the investors widened their eyes in shock.

All of them were wearing costumes of different animals. Jongin was forced to wear a cheetah costume while Lia was dressed up as a field mouse. The other managers were wearing costumes of animals like bear, monkey, rat and chicken. Leading them was their bunny CEO.

Minho smirked at the investors who openly stared at them .

"Allow me to introduce our ideas for the children's theme park at H-mall," he declared.
