Chasing After My Wife

EPILOGUE II

EPILOGUE II

Winter took a deep breath and held on to Gabriel's hands. When she was about to die during the mission, while trying her best to save her trainee from the explosive, she promised to talk to her parents if she ever survived. Now, she was going to leave to go back to her family and talk about her marriage with Gabriel.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" Gabriel asked since he could feel that she was still getting nervous with the thought of seeing her parents. Her hands were also sweating coldly.

"I think they are fine with you. I won't really take long. I just want to tell them that I'm getting married."

"I want to go along. We should be in this together like Travis and Jillyanna."

Winter chuckled when she heard his response. Her cousin's marriage life was their kind of goal and they wanted to be united like them. "Fine. Let me get some clothes for you to change." Winter walked towards their closet. They were still staying in the hacienda with Thomas but Gabriel had been looking for a house while he was bored. After all, they needed to have their own love nest after getting married.

Gabriel was watching her back as she moved inside their room. They had been living together in one room for quite sometime now and he could say that their relationship was deeper than before. Winter was busy with her duty as a soldier but she would never forget to give him a call.

"Winter."

"Yes?"

Gabriel wheeled his chair towards her and stopped right beside her. "When we face your parents, can I talk to them first before you do?"

"Why?"

"Because I had been communicating with them these past years about you. I think they will understand our situation if I give them a little explanation."

"What explanation will you give? Remember, we are not going there to seek for approval. We will face them because we want to let them know that we are getting married. Whether they will like it or not, I will marry you."

Gabriel just nodded his head but he knew that it won't be an issue. Winter was just full of hate towards her family because of her failed relationship in the past. She might be still blaming them but time will heal all kinds of wounds. He believed that there will be a time for her to forgive her family for what they did and for them to accept the fact that she's all grown and can make decisions on her own.

Travis knew ahead of time that his cousin will visit the Avery family. He called them ahead of time to make sure that the family will be there when Winter arrives. He wanted his cousin to be happy and he will make sure that she will achieve that. Therefore, he needed to deal with her family in order to pave the way for her. He didn't want her to go through another difficult times.

"Daddy, is Auntie Winter going to marry Uncle Gabriel this year?" Jade questioned when they're at the backyard, playing with her cute German Shepherd puppy. It was the special gift that Travis mentioned to her when he was still in Bali with his wife. He had called a pet store and asked if there was an available puppy of the said breed because he wanted to give one to Jade.

He noticed that she often read the stories about dogs and she likes watching movies with dogs in it as well. Sometimes, when she used Shein's computers, she would search for dogs and how to take care of them but she never said anything. She would never say what she likes or what she wants. So, Travis took the initiative to buy one for her.

When he saw how happy she was upon seeing the small puppy, he knew that she made the right decision. Not only her but, his wife was happy to see the dog as well. In fact, she wanted to have one a long time ago but Travis told her it wasn't the time for it yet.

"She will get married next year." Travis answered her daughter while helping her comb the dog's hair.

"She's going back to her family, right? Is she going to stay there?"

"I don't think so." Travis responded. "I guess, they'll be staying in city A."

"Why there? That's quite far."

"Because I bought a house for them there. Keep it a secret for me, okay?" Jade grinned and nodded her head. She was happy to share another secret with her father. It would always make her feel that she really belongs to their family. "Shouldn't you be taking a shower now? Tiffany and Ethan will be here in a while."

"I'll take a shower after brushing Ike's hair."

"Ike?"

"Hn. His name is Ike."

"Why?"

"Because he is a handsome dog." Jade responded with a chuckle. "Ike is short for Ikemen. In Japanese, it means handsome."

"Good choice." Travis rubbed his daughter's head before looking up to the second floor. Jillyanna was standing at the glass window with Raizel in her arms. He waved her hand at her and Jillyanna blew a kiss towards him.

This couple would never run out of sweetness. They may quarrel sometimes but they promised to never sleep if they couldn't fix their issues. They promised to always talk about everything.

"Dad, you will be going back to work on Monday, right?"

"Yup. So, I'm entrusting you to look after your mom and baby brother. You know, your mother can be clumsy at times."

"No worries. I will always look after them."

"Let me know if something happens, alright."

"Sure. Sure. They continued to bond at the back garden while Jillyanna watched them happily from her son's room.

On the other hand, Gabriel and Winter was on their way to see the Avery family. They were finally going to settle everything with Winter's family. Their life story is another thing to talk about and since they will get married next year, they still have so many things to experience within this year.
