Chasing After My Wife

BE YOUR SHELTER; BE YOUR KNIGHT

BE YOUR SHELTER; BE YOUR KNIGHT

Jillyanna stilled and pulled back from her husband. Her blushing face was so obvious that made Travis tease her again.

"What? Are you embarrassed for flirting with me?" Travis asked with a raised eyebrow.

Jillyanna sneered at him even with her flushed face. She stood up from the side of his bed with mischief dancing in her eyes.

"Why should I? Flirting with you is the best way to waste away my time." She turned around and smiled at the doctor who came inside to check on Travis. "When can we go home doc? It's inconvenient to flirt in a hospital room."

Even if she was embarrassed, she wouldn't let him win without a fight. Little did she know, Travis was also blushing behind her.

He had his hand covered his gaping mouth while shifting his gaze to his side. 'How did my wife become this bold? She even learned to retaliate.' Travis thought to himself while trying to calm his nerves.

His ears were in deep shade of red from his blush and his heart was beating so fast everytime he remembered her kiss.

Watching them throw love and sweets in the air, the doctor wanted to go home and find his wife, too. He was just jealous with them.

"Ahemm!" He cleared his throat before he faced the two of them. "It showed in his lab results that he has no problem with his wounds and head injury. However, due to the trauma caused to his brain, he will have to suffer from memory loss. For now, we could only advice you to take things slowly. Don't force yourself to remember your past. Just take it easy. Tomorrow, it is your schedule to permanently remove the bandage wrapped around your head."

"It's fine doc. I trust my wife to help me with this matter. Rest assured that I will be fine. If I can't remember them then, I'll just make new memories with them." Travis responded with a faint smile.

"I like your attitude. I wish and hope that you will gain back what you lost." The doctor stated before leaving the two of them. It would be bad to his heart to see so much love when he's away from his own wife.

Jillyanna was so happy to hear his recovery status and the possibility that he will be discharged soon. She couldn't contain her happiness so she ran back to him and kissed his face again.

"We can finally go home soon!" she exclaimed happily beside him while holding his hand. "I can't wait to show you our house. It's almost done and the rooms you picked for our baby is really amazing."

Travis could feel her happiness and he was happy too. Finally, he can get rid of himself as her burden. He hated it that she had to suffer because of his absence. He hated himself so much but now he got another chance to help her, be her shield and armor, be her light and shelter and be the person who would keep her safe no matter what happens.

"What are you thinking?" Jillyanna asked when he didn't speak, looking so serious and deep in thought.

Travis pulled his hands from her hold and held both sides of her face. He looked directly in her eyes, letting her see his soul and his love for her.

"Jill, I know I've said this for how many times already but I am still sorry for leaving you. I'm sorry for being a burden to you. I'm sorry for worrying you. But if given a choice, I would still choose to save you and our baby in exchange for my life. Jill, I will be your shelter and knight. I will keep you safe from all the dangers in the world. I will fight for you and our baby. I know I would worry you but I also know you would do the same for me. I love you so much that I don't want you to get yourself hurt. If possible, I want to build a tower and lock you up to avoid yourself from getting hurt but that is not the kind of love that I want to give you. I want to give you freedom to do things you like. I want to support you in everything that you do. I want to be always there for you. So I am apologizing for being a burden in this one month."

Jillyanna's tears fell, landing on his hand which was cold and painful to his heart. "I never thought of you as a burden. I don't you to apologize. I just want you to recover. In fact, you're both a strength and weakness to me, but never a burden." Her vision was blurry from her tears but she just couldn't help it.

When he was unconscious, she was the only one he could think of. Now that he's conscious, she was still the only person in his mind.

"I wonder what I did in my past life to get a husband like you. I'm such a lucky woman yet you're unlucky to get me. Hahaha." Jillyanna blurted out to keep things at bay. She didn't want to get so emotional and she didn't want to stress him.

Travis can see how she's trying to be brave in front of him, just to make sure that he won't worry.

This time, Travis sat on his bed and pulled her for a warm hug. He patted her back like how he did it when they were young.

"My wife is such a wonderful person. I am not unlucky at all. She's brave and strong. She's beautiful and smart. She's kind and helpful. She's great in whatever she does and she wasn't someone who mind about status and riches. My wife is amazing."

Jillyanna blinked her tears away because they threatened to fall again. "Thank you for not giving up." That's all she said while she was wrapping her arms on her waist and buried her face on the crook of his neck and shoulders.

"Early in the morning and you two are flirting already?" It was Shein who came with Riley and Jackie. He was holding a basket of fruits as he strolled inside.

Jillyanna rolled her eyes before pulling away from Travis. She fixed his hospital gown before she placed a quick and light kiss on his lips.

"I hate your hospital room." She murmured which was enough for the two of them to hear.
