Chasing After My Wife

STIRRING UP RUMORS

STIRRING UP RUMORS

Wynwyn never expected that she'd have a someone so good yet so troublesome as her first artist. She didn't know what to do anymore. Riley had to let her boyfriend know about everything before telling her. 'Shouldn't the manager know it first before the boyfriend?' she asked herself internally but couldn't find an answer.

Riley was also staying silent on beside her while looking outside the window. Her reflection wasn't clear but you could tell that she was thinking about something.

"What's the matter? You don't seem happy to play the female lead."

"I am happy but I want to keep this a secret for a little while."

"Why?"

"Because I haven't taken my revenge yet. This is just the first step and I still have a long way to go."

Wynwyn didn't understand what she meant. She didn't even know that her artists attracted maggots and flies. "Why didn't you tell me about your enemies?"

"I don't really have enemies. I just decided that I have to fight for my resources against the competitors. If other artists audition for the project I won't do anything."

Wynwyn just nodded her head while already planning what are the current projects that the artists weren't taking. Small or big budget, she will take them for Riley as long as they are from a decent team and company.

As Riley expected, it wasn't even an hour yet after she left and her name was already making noise online.

'Dress elegantly for an action movie? Is she here to audition or to join a ball?' Attached to the caption was a photo of Riley's back, walking towards the exit of the audition hall. She hasn't made a name for herself yet, now she was being targeted by small and large flies.

'She looked pretty but her arrogant and snobbish attitude won't bring here anywhere good'

'Don't expect anything from an artist who got in through backdoor.'

'Who told her to compete for a large scale movie?'

'Acting so big and high yet didn't get the role. What a disappointment.'

'Her manager is PR, don't their managers accept her so she's taken care by their PR?'

'She's the best example of an empty flower base.'

'No need to drop names, we clearly know who she is base on the picture.'

Everyone present in that audition hall knew who the girl was. Some made fun of her but some stayed silent because they didn't want to be involve in such scheme - bullying the weak.

Riley didn't say anything but Jackie and Shein were already taking action to see the identities of the commentators as well as the person who was responsible for taking photos. Who told them to belittle her? They didn't even know anything about her at all.

Riley saw the issue from her social media account but she remained silent. When they reached J Entertainment, other artists who saw them would look at her with sympathy and sadness before shifting their gaze to their mobile phones.

Their stares and melancholic faces didn't escape Wynwyn's observation. She stopped on her track and turned around to look at everyone.

"What's your problem? Why are you looking at Riley like you are mourning for her?" She had her arms crossed on her chest, her eyebrow was raised and she had a cold eyes glaring at them.

One of the artists who was holding her phone stepped out to save everyone from her intense gaze. "Sorry Miss Wyn. We just felt bad about the rumor going on line regarding Riley." She showed her phone which displayed the post that's trending on line.

Wynwyn looked at Riley, because obviously, she knew about it yet she kept it from her. "Why didn't you tell me about this?"

"Is there a need? Don't bother yourself to deal with those scums." Riley replied in nonchalance with a sneer on her lips. "Do I still have something to do this afternoon?"

"I got a message..Let's talk in my office." Wynwyn returned the phone to its owner. "Thank you for your concern but you don't have to worry about this girl."

Both of them left after she said those words. Their reactions confused the staff and artists present in that moment. 'Shouldn't Miss Wyn deal with a PR to clear Riley's name? Why wasn't she angry? Why was Riley still smiling?' These questions were something they really wanted to ask but their subject has long gone from their sights.

"The director himself sent me a message that his assistant will come over after the audition to discuss the contract. He needed to leave to discuss cooperation with the male-lead and the second-male lead." Wynwyn informed Riley about it.

"Okay."

"Are you still thinking about the rumor?"

"Nope. I'm thinking about what to eat for dinner. Shein asked me too pick out a restaurant and we will have a little celebration for my new role."

Wynwyn closed her eyes and released a deep sigh. Her patience was being tested by her artist. "How could you still think about food with your issue online?"

"Just because I have rumors flying everywhere doesn't mean I would hunger myself. Why should I bother myself with them? They don't deserve my attention and time. I'd rather spend time with my family."

"I am glad to see your attitude." Wynwyn smiled and gently patted Riley's head. "Let's find a French restaurant to celebrate your new role. It's my treat."

"Yay! That's great! Let me call Shein"

Wynwyn could only face-palm herself. Not a single day had passed without her mentioning Shein's name. 'Well, I was just like her when I started dating my Zach. Speak of the devil.' She was just thinking about her husband and he came with pastries and juice.

"Are you guys alright?" he asked Wynwyn and Riley. Riley just nodded her head with a thumbs up while talking to her boyfriend again.

Wynwyn also smiled to her husband. "We are doing great and we have a surprise for you later." she smiled cheekily before biting on the cookies he brought for them.
