Chasing After My Wife

THE REASON OF HER DEATH I

THE REASON OF HER DEATH I

Jillyanna received the news from Lucian and she couldn't help herself from rolling her eyes when she heard about Winter.

Same as always, she would dress up sexily before attacking her prey. It had always been like that since years ago. She wanted to mesmerize her targets before killing them. At least this time, she just wounded them and not taking their life.

The chief's wife and the chief's daughter were brought back to the hospital for treatment. They got bruises and small wounds when they tried fighting off with the people who held them hostage.

Jackie guarded them while waiting for the chief to come over and visit his family. Riley took a rest inside the room, using the couch while waiting for her turn to stand guard. They will take turn every two hours.

"Why don't you come and sit inside here?" the wife called for Jackie.

"It's fine ma'am. We need to make sure that no one can harm you here." Jackie responded with a straight face. She would make sure that nothing happens to them in order to put Jillyanna at ease.

After two hours, it was Riley's turn to stand guard outside the room. It wasn't until early in the morning did the chief finally got the chance to visit his family in the hospital. They thanked both women but the chief didn't know who they were so he just bowed deeply to express his gratitude.

Jillyanna had asked Savannah to clear out her schedule that day in order for all of them to take a rest. They all had a long night and they weren't able to rest properly yet.

"Let's all get back to work on Monday." Jillyanna sent everyone a message before falling asleep on the expandable couch.

She left a note for her mother knowing that she would come to visit and to take care of Travis. She didn't get to sleep until Lucian told him that everything was successful. Therefore, she was so tired she could barely opened her eyes while texting them earlier.

Sky saw her note and smiled faintly. She brought some food for her and Auntie Sisi also arrived with other foods that she could eat.

Jillyanna slept until past noon. When she woke up she immediately looked for food and drank her vitamins. She took a shower and changed her clothes since she needed to go somewhere.

"Mom, please take care of Travis while I'm not around. I just to deal with some things." Jillyanna spoke slowly to her mother while combing her hair into a ponytail.

"Sure. Take care of yourself."

Jillyanna didn't take long and kissed Travis before going out. She will be visiting the person who asked Lucian to see her. She didn't know who the person was but he claimed to be her mother's family.

After half an hour of driving, Jillyanna arrived at the city's police station. Officer Nik and Officer David smiled happily and nodded their head as a way to greet her.

Jillyanna smiled and waved her hand cheerfully if she didn't cause the chaos last night. She found Lucian talking to other officer about something so she waited for them to finish their discussion.

She didn't wait for long. "How are you?" Lucian approached her and greeted her while looking at her from head to toe then vice versa.

"I am doing fine bro." she replied. "So who is this person who wanted to see me?"

"You'll find out soon. Follow me." Lucian led her to the interrogation rooms and stopped at the farthest room they have on the left wing of the station. "He wanted to tell you everything he knew."

Jillyanna just nodded her head and went inside the room. "You wanted to see me?" The man lifted his head and that was when Jillyanna found him so familiar. "We met in Senyu Medical Center." she stated after recognizing him.

"Hn. You didn't believe me that I am a relative but you are right we are not related by blood." The man spoke to her with clear eyes. "You can ask the questions that they wan't to ask. For you, I will answer everything."

"Why are you doing this for me?" Jillyanna asked him. She was really curious and she didn't even know this man personally.

"Well, let's just say, I trusted your skills so I approached you. I gave you hints and clues to unveil the reason of your mother's death. Sad to say they found out that someone was tipping you. Good thing, they didn't know it was me. I am doing this not just for you but for my sister."

Jillyanna looked at him without a change in expression. She still looked cold in front of everyone. "I don't need to ask you. Just say everything."

The man smiled and nodded his head. "My name is Simon Summer. The youngest of all siblings. Elizabeth was the only person who cares for me since I am always sickly. For me, she wanted to become a doctor. For me she wanted to develop an artificial heart to help me."

"Wait..artificial heart?" Jillyanna asked with her eyes wide open from the shock. "Could it...be..the one I have?"

"Hn." he replied without any sadness or worry. In fact, there was a smile on his face. "When she gave birth to you, they found out that you have CHD. She worked on her research as fast as she can with the help of her best friend Venus. I believe you were five years old when she perfected it. However, your father left and up until this point we don't know where he is. We couldn't touch his wealth and riches because they were all meant for you. Dad was very angry and ordered someone to give her a hard time. If she won't give the money she should at least give the research. My sister was so stubborn and refused to give anything."

Jillyanna couldn't believe what she heard. This was way too different from what she expected.
