Chasing After My Wife

FATE BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER I

FATE BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER I

Jillyanna found Riley and Jackie when she visited States for the first time when she was still a student. It was to join the secret organization so she could enhance her skills and strength.

Wandering to the city, she saw these two girls doing a great job in a pick-pocket operation. One of them was talking to the victim with a cheerful smile to distract them. The other one was the one who get the money or wallet from the victim.

It was too bad that on that certain day, they met Jillyanna. She didn't expose the kids though but she helped them instead. She bought them food to eat but the shorter girl insisted that they'd bring it home.

Jillyanna went to their home to make sure that the little girls won't be bullied or be robbed off of their groceries. That's when she found where the home they were talking about.

It was an alley with lots of stray cats and dogs. There were trash bins everywhere and the smell almost made her puke.

"This is where you live?" Jillyanna asked them the most hilarious question she'd ever asked.

The taller girl looked at her and glared. "I am thankful for the food you bought for us but please don't make a light comment regarding our situation. We didn't want this to happen either but nobody cared for us."

"I am sorry. I didn't mean it that way.I was just shocked." Jillyanna rubbed the girl's head which was sticky from dirt and sweat. 'They needed to take a bath.' she thought to herself while wiping her hand at the back of her jeans.

At the end of the alley was a rundown tent made of tarpaulin and cartoons. Inside the tent was a young boy playing with a broken keyboard.

"You don't have parents?" Jillyanna asked them again while placing the bags of groceries down on the ground.

"Nope. We just found each other and started living together here. Shein is intelligent but he's got a little bit of a problem." The taller girl answered Jillyanna's question.

"Shein, we are back. We have lots of food for you." the shorter girl told the young boy.

That was when she realized what the problem was. Shein looked like to be of the same age as the girls but he acted childish.

"By the way, I am Jackie. This little girl is my twin sister Riley. Our parents died recently so we run away from home before our relatives get us and sold us somewhere. At least, we are still together here even if life is difficult."

Jillyanna was deeply touch with her sentiments. Among the three children, it was clear that Jackie acted at the oldest, reliable sister. She took care of the two children like how a mother should.

"Do you want to leave this place? I can help you. I am not going to sell you either. I want to give you home." Jillyanna offered with a faint smile.

Jackie looked at her and nodded her head. "If you will sell us, I will tell the police officers."

"I know. You are a good and kind so big sister will help you. By the way, my name is Jillyanna Summer Xavier. Nice to meet you." Jillyanna introduced herself and crouched low to pat her head gently.

The three kids took their belongings which was a handful of clothes and the broken keyboard that the little guy won't throw at all. She hailed a taxi and brought them home to her apartment. She helped them take a bath and change their clothes to her large shirts since she didn't have clothes that would fit them.

"How old are you by the way?" Jillyanna asked them when she was preparing for their meal. She was chopping onion and garlic in the mini kitchen while the kids watch a cartoon series in the living room not far from her.

"I am 13 years old as well as Riley. Shein is 12 years old but we guess that his mindset is still stuck in between 5 to 7 years old." Jackie answered and jumped down the couch to watch her in the kitchen. "Are you living alone?"

"Hn. I am currently on a tour and I have to go back home next week. Don't worry, I won't let you leave the house. You can stay here while I'm gone."

"Who will pay for this place? I know this cost a lot but we don't have money to pay for your house." Jackie reasoned with her.

"I paid this place for a year of stay. I will be gone for 2 weeks to take my exam and I will be back to check on you. How about I teach you how to cook? In that case, when I am not around, you can still eat here. You don't need to leave this place."

Jackie nodded her head cheerfully and watched Jillyanna cook. She listened to her instructions carefully and made sure to follow her steps. After an hour, she finally finished cooking their meals.

She watched them eat happily in front of her. "Big sister, how old are you?" Riley asked Jillyanna who was munching an apple.

"I am 16 years old."

"You are so young and rich. Why are you alone here?" Riley asked her again. Knowing that she was just asking curiously, Jillyanna didn't mind it.

"My father left me and my mom when I was 5 years old. My mother died when I was 12 years old. My foster parents are not with me but they take care of me when I am home."

"You have family? You should not leave your family, you know. If they are kind and good, don't leave them." Riley stated innocently.

It was clear to Jillyanna that the kids were intelligent and has manners. Sad to say, fate was cruel and selfish to them.

"I am not leaving them. I had to work and make money for them. When you are big, you can also work and make money. For now, just stay inside this room."

She glanced at the clock hanging on the wall at the living room and found that it was time to go back. "I have to go somewhere now and will have to go back tonight. Make sure you lock the door when you sleep."

"Take care." Shein spoke softly which stunned the three girls. "Don't take drugs." Now this made them laugh. He thought that Jillyanna was dealing with drugs since she was leaving and will be staying out late that night.
