Chasing After My Wife

GUILTY RILEY

GUILTY RILEY

Instead of going home, Riley bought some dumplings that Jillyanna liked and visited her at the hospital but Jillyanna was sleeping at the moment.

"Oh, she's sleeping." Riley commented and placed the box of dumplings so she turned to Travis instead. "Big bro, I brought some dumplings."

"Thank you Riley. Congratulations on your first movie. Aren't you guys going to celebrate it?"

"We already did. For now, we are resting for a while before our promotion starts next week."

"That's good to know. If you need anything, don't hesitate to tell Diego or Wynwyn about it. Your sister wanted you to become successful in your chosen career."

"Big bro, did my sister ever doubted you?" Riley questioned, trying to get some advice.

Travis throw a glance at her before he continued with his work. "She doubted me a lot of times before. We had so many arguments and she didn't believe me even once before we become officially together. Our relationship wasn't built from friendship like everybody else. It was built from so many misunderstandings since we were kids. Why are you asking this?"

Riley was sitting on a chair in front of his work desk with a gloomy face and regret written all over her face. "For the first time, I doubted Shein today. I didn't doubt his love for me but the reason was rather silly. I apologized earlier but it seems like he wasn't ready to forgive me so I left before he gets even more angry. Should I apologize again?"

"No, you don't have to. You took the step to apologize to him so it is his time to decide whether to forgive you or not. I believe that he was just surprise that you doubted him for the first time. He will surely forgive you. Just give him time."

"Okay. I don't really mean it and if I really think about it, he was at fault, too. But I don't want to dwell on this matter." Riley stood up and looked at the sleeping face of her sister. "Thanks for taking care of my sister. I will go now big bro. Thank you for your advice."

"Hn. Take care of yourself. Don't think too much about it."

Riley left after that short visit. She looked at her phone and found out that she still got a lot of time to spare than staying inside the house alone. 'I'll just visit Jackie.'

She left the hospital and went to the Police Academy in hope that Jackie was available. Unfortunately, Jackie was still in the middle of her ground training.

Riley went inside a cafe and bought some refreshments to bring to her sister once she's done.

"When will you be done? I'm inside the cafe across your school." Riley sent this message while looking outside the glass window.

Half and hour later, Jackie came out still wearing her uniform and a face towel hanging around her neck.

"I'm sorry you had to wait for a while." Jackie sat on the table across her sister who was still wearing her shades and cap.

"It's fine." Riley smiled and pushed a paper bag with different pastries inside. "It's for you."

Jackie looked at her twin and sighed. "Did you guys fight?" No one can make Riley sad like this aside from Shein. So they must have fought.

"Just a little bit of misunderstanding. Are you done with your class?"

"Not yet. I still have a shooting class after half an hour." Jackie took the paper bag and looked at it. "Do you want to have dinner together?"

Riley shook her head faintly in refusal. "I'm fine. I want to go somewhere for a while."

Jackie was a bit worried about her sister but she knew that Riley can perfectly take care of herself.

"Do you want to talk about what happened?" Jackie asked trying to help her relieved herself a little bit.

"No need. I don't want to trouble you with my issues. Anyway, I just came to see how you are doing. Have your wounds healed already?"

"Hn."

Riley nodded her head and stood up. "I'm glad to see you. Go back to class now and take care of yourself." She didn't wait for her twin to respond and left the cafe with her simple disguise.

Jackie had been mistaken as Riley but when you see her in close range, you would know that they could impose different vibes and aura.

Jackie watched her twin go out of the cafe and hailed a taxi to go somewhere. Who would've thought that she'd go to a night club.

Since she became a celebrity, she didn't go out in public alone, this would be the first time. There wasn't many people in the club since it was still six in the evening but the dancers were preparing and giving light dance on stage.

Riley sat on the counter and ordered a serving of martini. She didn't care about who came in or who came out. She just wanted to escape the worry between her and Shein.

"Can I buy you a drink?" a man in suit sat beside her and spoke.

"No need. I can pay for my drinks." Riley responded bluntly without batting an eyelid. She didn't even look at who was the man that sat beside her.

When a man says he'd pay for your drink, that means he was hitting on you. If ever you agreed, he would probably bring you somewhere and do you however he wants.

Riley learned so much from Jillyanna and that includes bar and club jargons and expressions. She would not fall for it.

The man who sat down on the table next to her showed an evil grin. "Interesting." he muttered. "Are you drowning your sorrow?"

"Nope. I'm celebrating." Riley lied. She was starting to get irritated and she was itching for a fight.

"Wanna celebrate with me?" the man insisted but Riley only rolled her eyes at him.

The man waited for Riley to get drunk but she would never get herself drunk in the presence of someone she didn't know. In addition to that, someone who had an ulterior motive towards her.

Riley smirked and drank the third drink she bought which was a whiskey. It was rather strong for a woman but she had a high alcohol tolerance.

She didn't know how much time had passed and she didn't care either. She sat at the bar counter silently while thinking how she can earn Shein's forgiveness.
