Chasing After My Wife

HER ANXIETY

HER ANXIETY

Nobody anticipated the choice that he made. In one day, the news of one of the largest casino being up for sale spread all over the city and to other places as well.

Many businessmen were interested in such a deal and many tried to verify the information before making their decision.

It was a shock to some people knowing how successful that casino was and giving it up was kinda waste to think. They just didn't know how much Walter lost because of that business. Family, friends and his trusted subordinates who stayed with him were all gone.

"Are you sure with this decision? Are you really selling your shares?" one of the businessmen who looked for Walter asked, still doubtful of the news he received.

"I am."

"Is it really the price? Isn't it too low? I don't mean to be rude but is there any hidden loopholes that I am not seeing?"

"You are thinking too much." Walter chuckled faintly as he waved his hand in front of him. "There's nothing hidden or any loopholes. I just want to spend the rest of my life peacefully. I don't have anyone to inherit my business so money isn't something I really need."

In fact, he's got so much money in his different savings accounts and selling the shares was just some formalities that he wanted to go through.

He sold most belongings, cars, vacation houses, hotels, and many other stuff. He was old and soon, his time to bid goodbye will come. As much as possible, he wanted to spend his time with the only living family he got, even though he was just an uncle to her.

Jillyanna wasn't permitted to go out again. They needed to catch Ryden first before she can leave once again. They all stayed in the Madrid's villa to keep everyone safe. The security was also tightened for the safety of everyone.

"Mommy, I will be learning embroidery today." Jade stated while Jillyanna combed her hair.

"Do your best and make sure to be extra careful with needles."

"Hn. I will remember that." Jade responded with a faint smile. She waited for Jillyanna to finish tying her hair up before she spoke again. "Mommy, will the bad man look for us again?"

"I am not sure sweetheart. Nevertheless, we need to be very careful."

"But Auntie Riley keeps going out for work. Will she be alright?"

"Your auntie is very strong. Nothing will happen to her."

"I see. Then, I'll go find grandma now." she waved her hand and ran out of the room with het two small feet. Travis also came out from the shower with fresh set of clothes with a towel hang around his neck.

"For the event in Xavier's, I think it is better for you to stay here." Travis informed his wife of his idea. "We don't know if that man has anyone eyeing us. If so, you will always be in danger unless he's captured and sent to jail."

"I am worried about you."

Travis sat on the bed space next to her. "Don't worry about me. I may not look like someone buff or with hard muscles but, I was still trained in the military. I can protect myself."

"Do you really have to attend it?"

"Hn. I will just stay for an hour."

Jillyanna knew that she was being unreasonable by asking him to stay but she can't help herself from worrying about him. In the end, she just stayed silent and nodded her head. There's nothing else that she could do. If she would come with him, she will become his burden if in case they were ambushed. She didn't want that to happen.

She kept herself busy with different little things at home. She helped Jenny with some stuff for school. She taught Jade mathematics and science. She made some cookies with her daughter. She composed music when she got really bored. She wrote a short story. She painted some nature scape. She did so many things to pass the time. Every day, she would make something to keep her from being bored.

Every single day had passed without any news of Ryden being captured. Every night, Lucian would come home with dejected expression. He wanted to help Travis and Jillyanna but he had been a disappointment the past dew day.

"I'm really sorry, Yanna. We couldn't find him. His father wouldn't say anything either." Lucian informed, one night after he came home from work.

"It's fine bro." Jillyanna responded. She knew that Travis will do something about it so she wasn't that worried. "Don't stress yourself over it."

"Travis will be attending a party this Saturday, right? Will you be coming with him? Do you want me to send someone to escort you?"

"No but thanks. I won't be coming along with him this Saturday."

"I see." He stood up from the couch and stretched his legs. "It's late already. I will join my wife and go to sleep now. You as well, get some rest. Travis will be home in a while."

Even though Jillyanna was staying at home, Travis and Shein would still leave for work everyday. Sometimes, they will leave after lunch and come back before dinner. If there's something very urgent, they would leave around ten in the morning, after Jillyanna wake up and eat her breakfast.

However, this time, Travis and Shein had been out so late. They contacted her earlier that they were on the way home but it's been half an hour since they called her and they weren't home yet. It was even past dinner time.

If it was like before, they would still be awake until ten in the evening. Recently, with what was happening around them, everything was just draining and most of them would retire after dinner.

Right now, only Jillyanna and Riley were staying in the living room to wait for Travis and Shein. Jade was with Sky and Alex, sleeping with them. Jillyanna was getting anxious over time when there wasn't any news from her husband and her brother.
