Chasing After My Wife

VENUS PLAZA YEAR-END PARTY

VENUS PLAZA YEAR-END PARTY

Since Jillyanna was given the permission to go home, Travis also got the time to go back to the company to hold meeting with the directors, check anything that needed his opinion and close every possible deals before Christmas.

He was confident with Jillyanna's safety at home. She's got more people to rely on compared to the time that she was inside the hospital.

She continued to live her life and enjoy every moment that she got to spend with the people she loves. She taught Jade privately about different things. She played with her daughter using her old stuff toys and other stuff. Her things finally found their purpose as to why they were kept for a long time.

"Mommy, will Daddy come back late again today?" Jade asked while coloring the drawing that she made. It was a sketch of their house which Jade etched in her memory. Even though it was snowing outside, Jade drew the environment with different kinds of plants of different colors and sizes.

Jillyanna was holding a book about parenting while she listened to her question. "He will be back early tonight. He needed to rest since there will be ball tomorrow."

"Can I come to the ball?"

"No, sweetheart. It's really cold outside and you might catch a cold. We will only stay there for an hour or two. Then, we will come home to accompany you."

"Will Auntie Jade and Auntie Riley stay?"

"Hn. Only your Daddy and I will come out. Your Uncle Shein hated this kind of event. Your Auntie Riley would rather take a rest since she still got some work. Jackie doesn't want to leave the house as well. So, you get to stay here with them."

"When will pretty uncle and everyone come back? They've been gone for quite sometime now. Won't they go back here? Don't they miss Jade?"

"Of course, they would miss you. It's just that, their work is difficult. They will probably come home during New Year. I am not so sure though."

"I hope they will come home soon. I miss pretty uncle and everyone."

She kept talking and asking about different people but she never talked about her biological father. She had been like that since Jillyanna asked her to pretend in front of her father.

"Jade?" Jillyanna called out her name softly as she placed the book on the table where Jade was coloring her sketch.

"What is it, Mom?"

"Are you angry that I asked you to spend time with your father even though you hated him?"

Jade was silent for a moment and she was staring right into her eyes before she opened her mouth once again. "If Mommy says I have to do it, I will follow it. There must be a reason why you wanted me to do it."

Jillyanna reached out her hand and lightly rubbed the child's head. "I am glad that you are very understanding. One day, once you are old enough, I will tell you why."

"Okay. I will wait for Mommy to tell me the reason."

Jade continued to color her sketch while Jillyanna continued to read the book. They were minding their own time, quietly doing what they wanted to do making the atmosphere calm and harmonious.

Even though she was still six years old, Jade was studying advance subjects compared to students of her age. She couldn't be enrolled yet since it was almost end of the year thus; she studied at home with the help of everyone.

Every day, Travis would come home to see his wife and daughter spending quality time together. Sometimes they were reading, writing, doing mathematics, making crochet, making bracelet, painting, studying history, memorizing poems, and many other things.

His life had been dark for a long time after he got separated from Jillyanna years ago and when she came back and reunited with him, his life had been very colorful. Despite the danger they had faced and would face, the spectrum of colors still shines radiantly as if nothing can stain it.

Just like this time, Jillyanna was leaning on a couch, her back was facing the door, reading a book which guides parents how to deal with children. Jade was sitting on her cute little chair, busy picking up crayons of different colors to give life to her drawing.

"Until when are you planning to look at us?" Jillyanna voiced out which made Travis chuckled and walked towards them.

"Daddy!" Jade exclaimed and put everything down before running towards him, throwing herself in his arms and gave him a light kiss on his right cheek.

"What were you busy doing that you didn't notice me?" Travis asked Jade who smiled at little awkward at him.

"Hehe..I..I was busy coloring the house." Jade admitted.

"Whose house?"

"Our house."

"Can I see?"

"Sure." Jade led him to the small table and gave him the sketch which showed the front view of their house.

"Wow! Our little princess is very talented." Travis praised Jade and gave her a gentle pat on her head. It was said in one of the books about parenting that children should be praised when they do something good to encourage them to do better.

"I'm glad that Daddy likes it. Mommy likes it, too." Jade stated happily.

Travis returned the sketch pad back to her so that she can continue coloring the sketches. When Jade wasn't looking at them, Travis pulled Jillyanna's book down and stole a kiss from her.

"I'm home." Travis announced with a sheepish grin. Even though it was a late greeting, he still wanted to say it.

"Welcome home, hubby." Jillyanna leaned closer to get another kiss from him. Travis looked towards Jade and since their daughter wasn't looking, he gave Jillyanna another kiss.

"Have you prepared your dress for tomorrow?" Travis asked her since they will be attending the first year-end party of the month. It will be a party for all staff working in Venus Plaza Industrial Park. Security staff, janitors or janitress, Network security staff and everyone else were invited. It would also be the first Christmas that Jillyanna would spend with them.

"I haven't checked any dress yet. It's not a problem anyway since I got so many dresses to choose from." Jillyanna responded to him.

"Hn. Don't think about it. I have arranged for our suit and gown." Travis stated with a smile. "I know you will be busy with Jade so I figured you might have not prepared anything."

"How thoughtful of you."

"Of course. I'll do everything for my beloved wife."

In big events like year-end parties, many people would really post something on their social media accounts. They would post the dresses they would wear, the people they were looking forward to see, the prizes they were aiming for and many other activities for everyone to feel envious of them.

It was also because of this that Jillyanna would find herself in danger once again. People had been posting that Goddess YNA will be one of their guests or that the prominent housewife of the young business tycoon will come and join their party.

Many people had been paying attention to every little details of her life and one of these people was Ryden. He might be on the run but that didn't mean he didn't have enough resources. There were still people who wanted to help him plot his revenge. However, the person he had been waiting to show up disappeared like a bubble. There wasn't any sign of her as if she didn't exist or as if she was nothing but an illusion.

Lyla didn't give up with her revenge yet but she has another plan. She was just waiting for the right time. She was no longer careless and stupidly following her rage. She finally learned her lesson this time and she was just patiently playing - playing the waiting game.

The clock slowly ticked and the time was slow to pass. It was as if the day didn't want to come, hindering Jillyanna to come out and meet her doom.

Tick! Tock! Tick! Tock!

Some people wanted the days to pass by quickly. Some people wanted to make it slow. And some people wanted to even make the time stop. Jillyanna belonged to the third group. If possible, she wanted to stop the time so that she can stay with her family but it was the most impossible wish to come true.

No matter what you do, what was bound to come will always come. The time for the party was slowly approaching. Jillyanna was leaving few reminders to Jade while Travis was frying her hair. The little girl was listening to her while matching different accessories to her mother's dress.

"Mommy, don't worry about me. I will behave here and wait for you." Jade promised before picking up a silver butterfly earrings. "I think this will match up with your dress, Mommy." She picked another silver chain necklace with a small stud diamond in the center of the star-shaped pendant. "This will be a good pair, too."

"Alright. I will wear this." Jillyanna took the accessories and put it on. "Remember to keep your promise."

"I swear." Jade even raised her hand to show her sincerity. "But Mommy, I feel really nervous tonight." Jade mumbled with concern.
