Chasing After My Wife

THE GRAND WEDDING VI

THE GRAND WEDDING VI

Jillyanna can't allow him to live for another day though. While they were happily celebrating the wedding inside one of the hotel's large ballroom hall, Calhoun's men were relentlessly pursuing the enemy with the help of Shein.

"Young man, I can see that you are very skillful and you can even track down these many opponents. How about you join the military forces as one of your IT specialists?" one of the officers spoke to Shein who was busy locating the escapees.

"I'm sorry officer but I will decline your offer. I want to help my sister and stay beside her. I don't want to get myself involve in military affairs. Besides, I don't know any combat skills. If enemy, only if, they would attack your camp, I can't fight or protect myself so, your men will have to protect me at the cost of their lives. I don't want that to happen. If you need my help in the future, just tell Ms. Savannah about it. I will do the best I can to be of help."

"I see. Then, I will turn to you when we face something really difficult." The officer responded with a smile. Whenever Shein locked on a target, the officer will relay the information to his men immediately.

Back inside the reception, the guests were currently eating while the host spoke about some things related to the groom and bride. "Do you guys know that, our lovely couple on stage won't end up together if not because of an obgyne and a cheeky vice-president?"

"Hey! I am not cheeky!" Diego yelled to defend himself.

"So, the obgyne must be Cheska?" the guests tried guessing the other identity.

"You are right!" The host grinned towards Cheska and Diego which made everyone turned to see them as well. "Our bride here didn't know about her pregnancy, when she went to the hospital for a physical check-up, her attending physician supposedly Dr. Rivera was busy, thus she didn't disturb him and look for someone else. Then the doctor found that she might be pregnant. To make sure she brought our lovely bride to Dr. Suarez. Guess what happened?"

"Travis found out."

"Cheska called Travis and reported the pregnancy."

"No no no." The host was having her index finger at them. "Inside the room, our bride carelessly exposed her plan that she wanted to escape!"

"Why would she want to escape?" one of the guests asked the question.

"Right! Why did she want to escape? Let's ask our bride." The host turn to Jillyanna and gave her the microphone. "Mrs. Madrigal, why did you want to escape that time?"

"Uh…honestly, I just wanted to have a child. I never thought of getting a husband but due to several circumstances, we still end up together." Jillyanna responded shyly. "I am thankful by the way to Cheska and Diego for ruining my plan. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be this happy."

"Let's give a round of applause to our bride and to the two friends who became a sturdy bridge in this relationship." The host really know what to say. "And to add more details of the story, when our bride came out of Cheska's office, Diego went to visit his girlfriend and saw Mrs. Madrigal. He asked his girlfriend and found the details. He called his best friend, Mr. Travis and told him everything. I guess you know now, what happened after that. Our groom stopped her from leaving."

"It's good to have friends like Mr. Sandoval and Ms. Suarez." The guests whispered to one another.

"They didn't just think of themselves but helped Mr. Madrigal with his relationship, too." Other guests mumbled.

"Hephep!" The host stopped them and added. "There's more to this lovelife. Our groom and bride were actually childhood sweethearts, got separated for several years. When they met again, they didn't even recognize each other. Though you can say they were childhood sweethearts, they only met few times when they were young and they didn't even know the full name of each other."

"Oh gosh! They must be really destined by fate. How else will you end up with the same person after all these circumstances."

"Their fate was already written and no matter how many people wanted to change it, it was already fixed and can't be broken."

"I am so envious of their relationship."

"I wish I can have a love story like them."

Different opinion and different response came from different people. Of course, many of them were envious but they never knew how much they suffered before getting into this stage of happiness. It wasn't even a guarantee if Jillyanna will get to live longer or if she will be alive after giving birth to her child.

"What we know is just the beginning and perhaps, halfway of this fated relationship. Our lovely couple are still young. They are expecting a baby in two months-time and they still have a long way to go. Let's wish them happiness and prosperity. A toast to our newly wed!" Gabriel led to make this toast and everyone followed suit. They raised their wine glasses and make a toast.

"May you have a blissful life all throughout the year, all throughout your life. My well-wishes to you Mr. and Mrs. Madrigal and to your children." The host made his toast as well.

Jillyanna weren't allowed to move around so she raised her glass while sitting on her chair. Travis was the only one who stood up to accept the ceremonial toast by everyone. Then, he took a seat and do the lover's toast with his wife. Crisscrossing his arm with hers and drank the wine. Jillyanna just took a sip since she wasn't allowed to have a drink. Dr. Allison was sitting at the nearest table from them to make sure that she can assist if something happens.

"Mommy, I just saw a man earlier. He passed by the hallway and he was looking at you angrily. His eyes showed that he was really angry. Did you do anything to him?" Jade informed them just as Jillyanna put down her glass.

"Who? Is he here?!

"I don't know."
