Chasing After My Wife

A NEW BEGINNING FOR JADE

A NEW BEGINNING FOR JADE

The man put down the picture and the glass of wine on the table. He picked up his cane and walked out of the room, led by his men. Anyone who would see his cane would know his identity as soon as possible. The customized silver cane had a skull ornament on its handle which was biting on to a ruby stone. It was said that you can make a fortune by just selling his cane but you would have to pay for your life if you want to get your hands on it.

He wasn't that old but his leg was injured, the reason why he was using a cane. "Did you verify it?" the man asked his subordinates as they walk towards the front porch.

"Yes, sir. We verified the information and that the young lady had been staying in the orphanage for a year."

The man got inside the car and closed his eyes. His hands were clutching on to the cane tightly as if it was his life support. 'My princess, I hope you can forgive me.' He mentally spoke while keeping his heart calm. "If I remember correctly, my daughter just turned three years old when I left. It's been three years since I last saw her."

"Don't worry sir. I found that she had been well-taken cared of in the orphanage. It is said that this orphanage where the young lady stayed is really good. They are well-funded and they take care of the children like their own family."

"That's good news if that is true." He opened his eyes and looked at the scenery outside his window. "Drive to the maximum limit. I want to see my child soon."

In the meantime, Jade was having fun with everyone in Jillyanna's home. They gave her a short tour of the house to know which place is which and which room owns by whom.

"Auntie Riley, I am just a little curious." Jade spoke in her soft and small voice.

"What is it?" Riley stopped on her track and crouched low to level her eyes with the little girl. "You can tell me anything."

"It is…it's about the two rooms downstairs."

"Huh? Which room?"

"The ones behind the bookshelves? When we came upstairs, I saw two rooms behind the bookshelves. Who owns those rooms?"

"Oh that! Your mother owns that room. It is her comfort room. Let's ask her if you can use that to play. I heard she kept her toys and things when she was still small there."

"Okay." Jade nodded her head.

"Also, just a little reminder." She rubbed the girl's head to make sure that she would feel comfortable around her. "Don't do anything to the flowers and plants in this house. Your father fixed the swing under the mango tree so you can play there as well. However, don't step the flowers under the mango tree. The flowers and other plants here are very important to your mother. She would be sad if something happens to them."

"Then, can I water them?" Jade inquired with her round eyes. "In my previous home, I always water the plants. Can I do that here?"

"Sure, you can. But you can only do that when it's dusk."

"Okay."

"Good. Don't hesitate to tell me if you needed something. Later, let's go to the mall and buy your personal things." Riley smiled at her before standing up, held her hand and walked back downstairs. Jillyanna and Travis were preparing to leave and they were giving them few reminders.

"Come here sweetie." Jillyanna signaled Jade to come over which the little girl followed at once. "I will be staying in the hospital to give you a healthy baby brother, okay?"

"I understand." The little girl was staring directly into her eyes while nodding her head. "When will you come back?"

"After giving birth to your brother. At the same time, you can visit me every day. I always get bored in the hospital so come visit me, okay? I will teach you to read, write and count."

Jillyanna spoke to her daughter for long time, making sure that she will be alright in the house. She reminded Riley to take Jade out for a shopping and get everything she needed in her room. She also told Savanah to add additional dress for Jade to wear on her wedding day.

After making sure that they didn't forget anything, they left to go back to the hospital. The other remaining people at home talked about the duration that they can stay with Jade. In the end, it was decided that she will stay one week in Jillyanna's house, one week in the hacienda, and one week in the Madrid's villa, before going back to Jillyanna's house and the cycle starts again. During this one week stay, every afternoon she will visit the hospital to spend time with her parents.

She was loved and cared for by everyone. Even though they were not related by blood, they never treated her as stranger. Riley and Jackie brought her to the mall and bought many things for her. They shopped for dresses, shirts, sweatshirt, shorts, jeans, skirts, shoes, hair accessories, and many other things. It wasn't until the car's trunk was full that they decided to stop.

"Let's shop next time when I dont have work again." Riley stated as she led them to a nearby restaurant to eat dinner.

"I will be busy the next two weeks because of the training." Jackie informed her twin.

"Then, Shein and I will take care of her." Riley stated nonchalantly.

Jade tugged on Riley's hand and looked up at her. "Auntie Riley, what is your work?"

"I work in a T.V station."

Though she didn't quite understand what Riley said, she still nodded her head. "How about you Auntie Jackie?"

"Me? I am still studying. I will become a police officer someday."

"Wow! That's amazing!" Jade was truly amazed to hear Jackie's profession and she was quite thrilled at the thought. "Auntie Jackie is great! You will help the people by catching criminals."

Riley frowned and glared at her twin. "I'm amazing, too." She mumbled softly, clearly sulking on the side because Jade didn't praise her.
