Chasing After My Wife

THE LETTER II

THE LETTER II

Dr. Alison and the nurse left after getting the progressive report of Jillyanna's health. She was actually recovering faster than expected with Travis help but he still wanted to make sure that she was being monitored at least twice a month to make sure that she won't relapse. There's nothing from being overly cautious.

Jillyanna went back to their room so that she can read the letter while Travis went to their son's room to give her some space she needed. She watched her daughter from her window who was still playing with her sister. "I'm blessed to see this scene because I survived with the sacrifice of someone else." She mumbled to herself, enjoying the view outside her room.

She walked towards her bed and sat down, still holding the letter in her hand. "Alright. Let me read this." She took a deep breath and opened the it.

'To Jillyanna Madrigal,

All these years, I just wanted to be acknowledged. I wanted to help my parents by finishing my studies. I wanted to be loved by someone that I love. I wanted to be happy. I just wanted to be happy. But you see, happiness is very elusive to me. All that happened to me brought me misery.

These past months, I realized that I did wrong you. I shouldn't have done that and now, my secret was exposed. People knew my secret- classmates, co-workers, childhood playmates, neighbors; they knew it. Am I ashamed? Of course, I am. And I am so angry that you had to get back at me in that way. You could have just sent someone to beat me up or maybe sent someone to kill me, in that way, you could end my misery. Why didn't you do that? I was ready to die. I wanted to die so badly.

At the same time, why should I blame you? If I didn't do anything in the first place, you don't have anything to hold against me. So, you see, everything was my fault. I'm sorry for blaming you. I'm sorry for hurting you and your baby. I'm sorry for trying to put a wedge between and your husband. I didn't really know how to compensate you for what I've one. So, I guess, giving you my heart will help me and help you.

Did you really think I give you my heart because I like you? Hmp, you wish. But, only by giving this will I rest in peace. Why? Because I can finally stop being scared. I can love your husband because you are using my heart to love him. Hahahaha. I don't need to be worried about people's opinion and I don't need to hide. I am finally free. By the time you are reading this, I am fully functional within you. Thanks to you, I have gained my freedom. Hahaha I still won in the end. You would never have guessed that I will take my revenge this way, right? Are you guilty? Are you regretting for what you've done?

Can I have one last favor? Can you visit my family and see how my parents are doing? And can you delete my videos as well? I don't think you will be able to do the last one but it's okay. Anyway, that's all for me. Take care of yourself and don't forget to take care of my heart. You won't find someone as generous as me again.

Your no.1 enemy,

Lyla.

Jillyanna didn't know what to say, think or feel. She read the letter once again before folding it and placed it on the back cover of her phone case. "You are the most stupid person." She mumbled thinking back to the woman she met back in city A few months ago. Her tears started falling down on her face and she couldn't seem to stop it. She felt so bad for her. Lyla might have thought that she won because she died but, in the end, both of them lost in this game of revenge.

"You could have just strayed away from me in the beginning. If you didn't show up that night, none of this will happen to us." She felt sad, horrible even for letting Shein posts those videos online. Back then, she was really angry at her. "Anyway, I don't have time for regrets. Let's just live our life with you inside me."

She stood up from her bed and wiped her tears away. "From this moment, I'll let you live a life full of happiness. I won't let you become miserable again." She murmured to herself while clutching her chest. It was her second life given by her so, she wanted to make sure that none of her sacrifice will go to waste.

She took a bath and changed her clothes before looking for her husband. She thought he was still inside their baby's room but when she opened the door, there was no sign of him. "Huh? Where could he be?" She closed the door again and walked downstairs. "Hon?" she called for him as she walked to the kitchen. "Honey?"

"Mom, we're here!" Jade shouted from the back garden when she heard her mother calling for her father. When Jillyanna came to out, she saw them under a parasol, her husband holding their son while Jade was making a flower crown using the flowers in their garden. She was busy connecting the flowers together while she sat on a blanket laid on the ground.

Jackie and Riley were nowhere to be seen. "Where are the twins?"

"They wanted to help Shein with something."

"Oh." Jillyanna sat on the ground to help her daughter with the flower crown. "Can I leave tomorrow?"

"Where are you going?" Travis and Jade asked in unison.

"I want to pay respect to Lyla's grave." Hearing the name and the place she wanted to visit, Travis didn't need to ask his question. He figured out the sender of the letter and the donor of the heart. He didn't want to burden his wife with questions as well.

"Alright. You can visit her tomorrow. Would you like me to come with you?"

"No, I'm fine. I'll just bring Jackie and Riley." Travis nodded his agreement. He, personally, didn't want to visit the woman's grave. Even though she donated her heart, he wouldn't forget the fact that she put Jillyanna's life in danger time and time again. His wife might be forgiving but, he wasn't.
