Chasing After My Wife

RILEY CAUGHT HIM

RILEY CAUGHT HIM

The man put on his hat and walked back inside to the hotel from the rooftop. Since he had been going up and down the building, surveying the building floor to floor, he was familiar with the location of the CCTV cameras already. He knew where the blind spots were and he knew where the soldiers focused their security.

"What floor are you going, sir?" The soldier, who stayed at the elevator to monitor the flow of guests who came in and out, asked the man who was wearing a hat.

"Bring me to the 8th floor." The man responded with a smiled.

"Okay."

The elevator sank into a deafening silence and none of them speak again. There were only two of them inside the elevator. 'DING!' The elevator opened and the man went out. "He seemed a bit off. Why was he at the rooftop?" The soldier questioned himself with a frown.

He immediately called the other soldiers through his earpiece and reminded them to tighten up the security. He reported the suspicious man but he also told them not to act recklessly. Right after he said his reminder, he heard a gunshot from the background.

"There's an intruder to the 10th floor. Guard everyone!"

"Catch him!"

'Bang! Bang!"

Jade noticed the hurried footsteps of the soldiers outside. Her heart faltered and she felt a little worried. Savannah also signaled everyone to stay quite while she took out her own gun. She stationed herself at the door together with Brown. Riley brought Jade to the bathroom together with Sky, Alex, Cielo and Raizel.

Another shot rang out which startled Jade. She was worried for baby Raizel. When she looked at her brother and found him playing with the small teddy bear, she was a little relieved. "Grandma, will we be alright?"

"Hn. We will be fine. Just trust you're the soldiers outside. They will keep us safe."

"I am still worried."

"Everything will be fine." Sky caressed her face gently. She was also worried but she can't show it to the children. She needed to be strong for them.

Outside their room, blood was splattered everywhere. Injured and wounded soldiers can be found lying on the floor, leaning on the wall and some were trying to corner their enemy. One single enemy made a mess out of them. It's not because they weren't skilled enough but because they were worried for the civilians that they were trying to protect. They couldn't act recklessly.

They thought that their enemy would be using a gun with silencer again but it seemed like he was bent on having a killing spree inside the hotel. Top was able to hit the man and wounded him on his arm. Droplets of blood fell on the floor wherever he goes. Even so, it didn't stop him from charging.

"Killing people is so much fun. I like this." The man mumbled with a smile on his face. He was deeply happy with what he was doing. He didn't have any conscience so he wasn't worried about anyone that he will hit with his gun. He didn't feel any guilt with the people he injured and wounded. It was the advantage he got.

For a moment, the noise stopped and the soldiers didn't make any move as well. The man was stealthily hiding behind the pillar at the most corner of the floor. "Come over here. Come and get me." He whispered as if making an incantation to lure his prey towards him.

The other soldiers provided first aide to the wounded and injured. When they all checked everyone's status, it showed that the man was able to take two lives with his gun. "Damn it! How could this be possible?!" one of the soldiers cursed while getting the dog tag of his dead comrades.

In the other room, Gabriel was also guarding Thomas with the other two body guards and a soldier assigned to them. The soldier didn't leave his post during the commotion, worried that someone would make a sneak attack while he was gone. Calhoun had reminded him over and over again that he needed to protect Thomas and Gabriel. He can't abandon his main duty.

"How many enemies do we have here? Why were there so many soldiers outside?" Gabriel asked while holding his gun, ready to take fire if necessary.

"We should have three enemies but, the one notorious killer killed the other two. We don't know what caused him to kill them. Now, the killer is causing some troubles and killed two soldiers already."

"He does have guts to charge in when he is obviously outnumbered."

"He isn't a simple killer. The soldiers who faced him said that he was someone difficult to deal with. It's not because of his skills but because he lacks moral. He didn't have any conscience and didn't feel any guilty. There was madness in his eyes. That was what they said."

Gabriel nodded his head in understanding. Killers who kills for fun are the most difficult to deal with, specially in a crowded place. Civilians will be involved and, while soldiers won't hurt the civilians, the killer can do whatever he wants to do. He didn't need to worry about anyone's life. If soldiers were meant to protect the lives of people, he was meant to destroy it.

Even if they will be in a brink of death, they will still make sure to drag someone down with them. That's the kind of criminal the soldiers were facing.

The man took a peek at the soldier who were looking for him. There were four of them and two body guards. "Great." He mumbled and licked his lower lip maniacally. His movements were quick and his shots didn't miss. He wasn't wasting a single bullet all.

The sound of the gun firing made the other guests who stayed at the other floors shivered in fear. The sound was so loud and there were some guests who were loitering using the stairs as well. They've seen the bloody mess and they couldn't help but ran for their lives.

The soldier didn't stop firing towards the man, leading them down the spacious hallway. They bombarded him with bullets but the man was so quick to evade them. Though he's got wounds in different parts of his body, his actions didn't slow down at all. He was like a bottomless pit of strength and energy.

"Let's continue this game until I'm satisfied. I'm enjoying this so much." The man laughed hysterically. A laughter that seemed to come from the deepest corner of hell.

"Top?" Brown called Tops name through the earpiece.

"What is it?"

"Can you tell me where his location is? I might be able to catch him off guard."

"He is currently hiding behind the pillar at the east wing, near Miss Riley's room."

"That's kind of difficult for a sneak attack since we're at Sky's room."

"I agree. Don't worry. Leave him to us but I suggest that you call for medical assistance. There are several wounded and injured soldiers."

"I understand. I'll do it now." Brown called for medical assistance and asked them to stay on standby since they will be needed as soon as the commotion stops. Calhoun sent several men to serve as back-up as well.

Savannah looked towards Riley and Brown. "I'll go out to face this man. You two, stay here and protect everyone."

"Can I go out instead?" Riley asked since her hands were itching to have a fight again but Savannah dashed her enthusiasm.

"No, you can't. You're an actress. What if there's someone out there who's watching? You'll never know. It will, no doubt, ruin your career."

"Okay. I'll stay here and behave." Riley responded sadly. She gave up with that idea but destiny helped her fulfill her dream.

The man continued to play the chasing game with the soldiers when Savannah came out. His eyes lit up and he grinned evilly towards her. Savannah didn't care about the lewd provocation on his face. She pulled out her gun from her back and opened fire.

"Oh! That wasn't bad." The man commented while evading Savannah's shots. "But it would be better if you come and play with me instead of playing with a gun."

"Really?" Savanna cocked her eyebrow while focusing her gaze at him.

Riley on the other hand was still bent on fighting him. She opened the door to take a peek and look for an opportunity. "What are you doing?" Brown asked her as he swat her hand away.

"I was just taking a peek." She answered almost instantly. In her field of view, the man had his back facing their way while he was facing Savannah. Seeing this opportunity, Riley opened the door and pulled the man by the collar.

"What the f*ck?!" The man cursed as his vision turned upside-down and up again. When he came to his senses, Riley was sitting on top of him with a lovely smile. "Can you help me with my need?" she asked while grinding her hips suggestively.

"Baby girl, I am busy at the moment. How about I help you later?"

"I want you to help me now!" Riley shouted and punched him on the gut. It was so painful that he wanted to curl his body. He moved his hand to supposedly shot her but Riley was kneeling on them. His gun was nowhere to be found either. "Will you help me or not?" Riley asked while making small circles on his chest.

"No, I-"

"No?! You don't want to?!" Riley punched the man's face with full force. It caused him to cough up a mouthful of blood and few teeth. "Why won't you help me?"

The soldiers didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the situation. They were fighting with this man to death earlier and now, he was being straddled by a woman, getting punched on his stomach and face.

"Don't you like me?" Riley asked, acting all cute and adorable.

"Wait.."

"I was just asking you a YES/NO question. I wasn't even giving you a hard time. What was so difficult with that?" Riley punched the man again and again. If you were on the actual scene, you would know that she was just making silly excuses.

'If I am being asked this way, I would have a hard time answering the question as well.' The soldiers thought internally while watching Riley vent her anger.

"You don't like me? Then, I don't like you, too." She stood up and smiled at him but before the man could move, she stomped on his gut again and again before kicking him. He rolled on the floor as she kicked him. It looked like she was playing a soccer with a human as her ball.

Jade wanted to watch what was going on outside but Cielo pulled her back in her arms. She knew that Riley and Jackie were not someone you could mess with and base on Riley's tone, it was obvious that she was dealing with someone. She can't allow a child to witness such horrible sight.
