7 Path of the Lilies

Path to the Future (end)

Path to the Future (end)

"Yes, Master!"

"Now, you can leave."

Elder Qian shook his head slightly as Ye Jiao walked out of his office. He had to admit that Ye Jiao's learning speed was insane. It wouldn't take long before that girl surpassed him if this continued.

He stroked his beard and smiled. His disciple is truly amazing.

…

After the short session with Elder Qian, Ye Jiao walked out of the room. As she walked to the main hall, she could see that there were a lot of other disciples there too. It has been a few weeks since the examination, which meant that many other disciples have already returned back from their missions.

Most of the seniors were nowhere to be seen, though. Ye Jiao had heard that they barely spent their time in the academy because they would rather take missions and then temper themselves outside. There were a lot of adventures that they could experience out there.

Returning back to her residence, Ye Jiao headed straight to her bedroom. After staying outside to do missions for some time, it felt really great to be able to return back to her home again.

The fragrance flowers from the garden outside her residence calmed her down.

She's back.

"Hmm, now that I'm no longer that new as a disciple, I guess it's time for me to start thinking about my future path," Ye Jiao talked to herself. There was no one else inside her room, so she only talked loudly for herself.

Getting down from her bed, Ye Jiao walked to the window and looked outside. The vast garden filled with flowers greeted her along with the fresh air slapping her cheek softly as if greeting her. A smile never left the corner of Ye Jiao's mouth.

She had turned 12 not long ago.

Thinking about what had happened all this time made her feel as if she had walked a long way to reach this point. Many things happened that helped her to grow, be it good things or bad things.

"I want to learn skills."

"I want to continue learning runes."

"I want to use the academy facilities…"

When Ye Jiao talked about the last one, she had just recalled that she only had 12 points that she could use. It was the points she got from the group mission not long ago. Since the mission was done in a group, the total points were divided amongst them equally.

The points that she gathered during the early days in Hua Shan Academy were only used for one month ranking. It would be put into reset again and would be put into use when there were new disciples again after Autumn.

"Hmm, I guess I'll just do missions for the time being."

Ye Jiao tapped her fingers to the window's sill and enjoyed the breeze for a bit more. She wanted to stay for a longer period of time, but it wouldn't do her anything good if she didn't rest.

The journey was quite tiring.

"I wonder how strong I'll be in the future."

Turning her body around, Ye Jiao slumped on her bed. She was still Eon Energy Master Rank 3, which meant that she still couldn't use her Eon Energy for the specialization. Everyone longed to be able to reach rank 4 because the specialization would open a completely new path for them.

It would be the start.

Start to become a truly powerful Eon Energy Master who could influence the world.

Influence the world?

Ye Jiao laughed lightly. If she was still back at the Four Kingdoms, Eon Energy Master Rank 4 was already at the peak of existence. But in this place, it was merely the starting point and Ye Jiao knew that reaching there wouldn't be easy.

"Soon."

Soon, she would reach rank 4 then continued to rise.

In the future, she would reach the peak and fulfilled her dream that she had in the past. This was the promise she had inside her heart.

But it would still take a long time. She was still a kid and there were many things that she needed to learn. In the process, many things would happen and no matter what happened in the end, Ye Jiao knew that she had to overcome it all.

'I will reach the peak.'

Closing her eyes, Ye Jiao felt her mind start to drift away. She did feel tired because of the constant fights, training, and all. With her small body, she had been forcing herself to grow as fast as possible and learn as much as possible to be able to grow stronger.

That way, she wouldn't need to lose those important to her anymore.

Someday, she would reach the peak.

But she had to be patient because it was not the time yet.

- End (?)

…

(A/N):

Hey everyone, I know you'll be confused because of the note at the end of today's chapter. And to be honest, this is not the real end, but this will be the end of this novel. (Uhm, is it hard to understand? In other words, I'll not continue this novel here)

So sudden?

Well, I have been thinking about this for the past few weeks due to some reasons that unfortunately, I cannot divulge because...some things. And after prolonging for a while, I decided that it's already the time.

Some of you might have realized that there was something unusual when the novel's title suddenly changed a while ago.

Why?

If you're asking that, I'll only be able to tell you that I'm overestimating myself and thought that I'm strong. But when the harsh reality slaps me back to the ground, I can't bring myself to handle it properly.

I'm tired. Both mentally and physically. There's a limit to what I can take. And with my limited options to handle things, I choose this one.

Early end for the novel.

The rest of the explanation will be in the proper author's note.

…

P.S: I'm not quitting writing entirely as I still have another ongoing novel in Web novel (WN) titled "Villain Lady." For that one, I'll still continue my daily update.

However, for this novel (Path of the Lilies: Early Beginnings), I can't bring myself to continue.
