Mommy Villainess

End of That World

End of That World

JULIAN coughed up a huge chunk of blood.

When he saw his clan murdered by Winchell, he was filled with rage and attacked the Red Phoenix. But he was a man who lived in peace. And therefore, his power wasn't enough to even scratch his uncle– his uncle who hated him so much until the end.

It didn't take Winchell a while to bring him down.

All the Red Phoenix had to do was burn him to death using his Red Flame.

"Kill me," Julian said in a tired, hoarse voice while lying on the ground. It was a miracle that he could still talk in that state. Perhaps, it was because he knew it was already his dying moment. He should at least say whatever he wanted. "Do you hate me so much that you couldn't even give me a painless death, Uncle?"

He called Winchell "uncle" on purpose because he knew he would hate to hear it.

But much to his surprise, the Red Phoenix remained indifferent as he knelt down beside him. Then he put a hand on the left side of his chest. It was as if Winchell was saying that the words of an insignificant person like him wouldn't hurt him.

He could only smile bitterly.

[Until my last dying moment, I am still hated by my maternal family even though I didn't wish to be born anyway.]

Winchell pressed his hand harder against his chest, then smiled when he probably felt his heart beating. "Good, the heart is still alive."

"Did you not burn me to ashes to save my heart?" Julian asked bitterly. "What do you need my heart for?"

"It's not your heart that I need."

"Excuse me?" he asked as he knitted his eyebrows. "You make it sound like I have two hearts."

"Because you do," the Red Phoenix said bluntly. "Your heart is used to store a holy relic, why the other heart belonged to Soleil."

He was surprised to hear that. "M-Mother's heart…?"

"Soleil isn't your mother," Winchell growled at him, then he dug his nails deep into his chest. "I only returned here to retrieve my sister's heart."

He had so many questions he wanted to ask, but he could only groan in pain as Winchell ripped his heart out of his chest. When everything was over, he was already numb from too much pain. And it seemed like life was indeed cruel to him because, even if his heart was already forcefully ripped out, he was still alive.

[Is it because my body is physically stronger than ordinary people?]

"Thank you for keeping Soleil's heart safe, Julian Moonchester."

He didn't fail to detect the sarcasm in the Red Phoenix's voice.

Hah!

It was true that he was a Moonchester because his father was born in this life as one. But the fact that Winchell called him by that name was his way of reminding him he would never acknowledge him as his mother's son, even when he was already dying.

He didn't have the heart to get mad anymore. All he could do at the moment was laugh bitterly. Ah, why was his death coming so slow?

"Is this the only reason you kept me alive, Uncle?" he asked, still trying to get a reaction from him by calling him familiarly. "Is using my body as a storage for things you need to protect my sole purpose in life?"

"You did well," Winchell said indifferently, then he covered his eyes with his hand. "Goodbye."

The Red Phoenix's Red Flame swallowed him whole.

He could feel his whole body getting burned to ashes. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt this time. It was as if Winchell's flame had become gentle.

[Is this his way of showing his gratitude to me for keeping Mother's heart safe?]

Julian smiled sadly as his tears rolled down his cheeks. "Uncle, I wish you treat me better if we meet again in my next life."

***

"UNCLE, I wish you treat me better if we meet again in my next life."

Winchell didn't want to admit this, but he felt something tugging at his heart after he heard Julian's last words before he turned into ashes.

To be honest, he thought Julian Moonchester would curse him. But until the end, that child (he was still a child to him even though he was already old in human years) still tried to push himself to be accepted as Soleil's son.

[I can't accept it…]

He stood up while crushing Soleil's heart in his hand. Of course, he could only do it easily because he was the Red Phoenix. But even Auro Moonchester wouldn't be able to crush his little sister's heart.

[Soleil, it's finally over…]

Now that he had crushed Soleil's heart, his little sister would be able to get reincarnated again.

That also meant one thing.

[This world will end soon.]

He didn't want to admit this, but he could do all of this with the help of Kalel– of Nystrom. Yes, that bastard's body was still possessed by Kyro, the Moon God. But it didn't mean that he couldn't travel with his soul.

After all, Nystrom was still a Beast God, and gods like them didn't need physical bodies. But Nystrom had to pretend to be unconscious inside his body, so Kyro wouldn't notice that his son's soul had been moving discreetly all this time.

For the past years, he and Nystrom had been working together. One of their priorities was making the Plane work, so Soleil could reincarnate as a Fire Mage again.

[Nystrom and I have violated so many rules that even gods like us are supposed to follow. Thus, even if we get reborn, some of our memories would definitely get sealed as punishment. Even my memories would probably become blurry once I woke up from my deep slumber.]

"You really killed your nephew, huh?"

Winchell just looked at Auro Moonchester, who suddenly appeared in front of him while holding an ice staff, with a bored look on his face.

To be honest, he didn't have the energy to argue with this bastard anymore. If they were in a normal circumstance, he wouldn't waste the chance to verbally abuse the rotten emperor. But what use would it be now?

This world would end anytime now.

"He's not my nephew," Winchell said bluntly. "He's your brother's son with another woman."

Auro Moonchester laughed as if he found it amusing. "Believe whatever you want to believe, Winchell. The truth won't change."

"Auro Moonchester, I'm tired," he said, then he raised his arm and pointed his palm in his direction. "Can you please die for me already?"

It would kill Nystrom as well, but he didn't care anymore.

After all, their job was already done.

Soleil would be now reincarnated, so Nystrom could die with his "brother" now.

"Are you sure about that?" Auro Moonchester challenged him. "Do you really want me dead even if it would kill Kalel, too?"

"Yes," he said, then a gigantic ball of red flame came out of his palm.

He thought Auro Moonchester would block it using the ice staff he stole from Nystrom.

But much to his surprise, Auro Moonchester allowed himself to be burned alive.

[What the hell is he up to now?]

"I'm done with this life as well," Auro Moonchester said while laughing. "Winchell, my death would ensure that the Fire Mages could never return."

He was still confused.

That was, until huge flying orbs appeared one by one. Those were communicating devices that seemed to have recorded everything. He also noticed that there were people in the shadows, as if they had been hiding there from the start.

It was a big show.

Auro Moonchester killed himself and let those people witness it on purpose!

"Our Emperor Auro Moonchester had been murdered by Winchell Rosenberg, the Red Phoenix and the leader of the Fire Mages!" an old man that Winchell recognized as Lord Denver, the leader of the Fire Wielders, declared in a loud voice. "The Fire Mages have betrayed the empire!"

Bullshit.

The Fire Mages that he brought with him to attack Julian's clan members that had been turned into ice puppets were rogue Fire Mages. But that damned Lord Denver made it sound like even Julian's clan, who had been loyal to Auro Moonchester, was a part of the rebellion.

Auro Moonchester used Julian until his dying moment as well.

Winchell could only laugh at the absurd turn of events. "So, you let yourself get killed for us to be branded us as traitors, huh?"

KYRO coughed up blood.

It happened while he was in the middle of entering his dungeon where Yumi had brought human sacrifices for his experiment.

[Nystrom?]

He called his son by the name he gave him during his first life because he could feel the power of the Black Serpent destroying his body from the inside. But aside from that, he also felt Auro Moonchester's life force disappearing abruptly.

[Did Auro Moonchester die?]

Then it meant Nystrom's physical body would die as well.

"Damn you all," Kyro whispered to himself while clutching his chest tight. "I am not done with my experiment yet…"

But unfortunately, it seemed like he already lost the chance in this lifetime.

He felt it.

[Soleil Rosenberg is on the verge of getting reincarnated!]

Once that happened…

"It's the end," Kyro whispered as he collapsed to the floor. "It's the end of this world…"
