The Birth Of A New Spirit Guardian

The Birth Of A New Spirit Guardian

AFTER HEARING Serafina's explanation as the Holy Scepter laid out his plan, Tilly finally understood why Julian almost died again for the sake of their family.

[So, it was my fault.]

The plane was thrown into chaos because Tilly gained the power to have her loved ones reincarnated the way they wanted them to.

She wasn't even aware that she possessed such terrifying power.

[That's the reason why Winter and Julian were always born my sons, and why Solenn was always reincarnated as Solaris' daughter.]

In a way, she could understand why the Plane was upset with her.

"Okay, so the Abyss that's connected to my soul is the cause of this mess," Tilly said, summarizing the information that she got from Serafina. "In order to remove the Abyss from the Plane, we need a strong divine power to literally push it away."

She could hold a proper conversation now because she calmed down a bit.

Saint Forrester and the grown version of Solenne were working together to close the hole in Julian's chest.

[My son still needs a heart, but at least his life is out of danger for now.]

Thank goodness Julian had divine blood in him that allowed him to live despite missing a heart.

<"That's right, Lady Supreme,"> Serafina said, nodding. <"The Abyss is located in the heart of the Plane where the souls waiting to be reincarnated are stored. We need a strong divine power to push the Abyss out of the Plane.">

"And where would the Abyss go after getting pushed out of the Plane?" Tilly asked curiously. "The Abyss is connected to my soul, isn't it?"

<"…">

Hmm?

"So, you haven't thought about how removing the Abyss would affect my wife?" Kiho growled lowly, obviously pissed off by the deity's lack of thoughtfulness. "You only care about bringing the order back to the Plane. No wonder you didn't bat an even if my son was subjected to such pain just to get a hold of the Holy Scepter, huh?"

<"I'm sorry, Lord Kiho. We just assumed that the Lady Supreme would be fine because she's the Supreme Fire Mage.">

Kiho scoffed, obviously still pissed by the lame excuse that the deity gave.

"Now I know why we shouldn't trust gods," Winter said, obviously disillusioned now. "They only care about themselves and anything related to their interests. Worse, they're willing to sacrifice anything and anyone just to achieve their goals."

<"This is for the greater good,"> Serafina insisted, her voice obviously defensive. <"We have to fix the Plane to bring back the proper order in the human world.">

Kiho and Winter both scoffed at the deity at the same time.

[Like father, like son.]

"I'm sorry, Mother," Julian said weakly, his eyes still closed as Saint Forrester and Solenn continued treating his chest wounds. "Had I known you'd be affected directly by removing the Abyss from the Plane, I wouldn't have easily agreed with this plan."

"You don't have to apologize, baby," Tilly said while shaking her head. "Like you said, you didn't know. Plus, I'm pretty sure Lady Serafina didn't tell you the truth on purpose."

<"…">

"I was short-sighted," Solenn said in a frustrated voice. "I had a bad feeling about this, so I tried to stop Julian. Had I known this would be the consequence, then I would have stopped Julian at all costs. This is my fault, Lady Soleil."

"Solenn, you're just a child as well," Tilly said, consoling her grand niece. Then she turned to the deity. "Well, since I can see how the Abyss affects the Plane negatively, I agree that we have to remove it."

"Honey," Kiho complained lightly. "But we don't know what will happen to you if the Abyss is suddenly removed from the Plane."

Winter nodded eagerly in agreement with his father.

"My gut feeling is telling me I'll be fine," Tilly assured her husband. "Moreover, Julian already sacrificed himself for this. I won't let that go to vain."

With that, Kiho and Winter couldn't complain anymore.

[They wouldn't want Julian's sacrifice to be in vain either.]

"Saint Forrester, you're the owner of the Holy Scepter," Tilly said, talking to the saint this time. "If we use the Holy Scepter to remove the Abyss here on the Plane, then the Holy Scepter might be stuck in this place. Is that alright with you?"

It was rude of them to decide what to do with the Holy Scepter when the owner was there.

"The Holy Scepter has always had its own consciousness," Saint Forrester said. "And it already made up its mind, so I need to respect it."

She didn't want to admit it, but she was quite relieved to hear that.

Tilly opened her hand. "Then, come here."

The Holy Scepter that was lying on the floor next to the saint floated, then it slowly flew towards her until she was already holding the staff.

Then she stared at the huge red stone located at the top of the Holy Scepter.

"Is that red stone your 'heart and mind?'" Tilly asked for confirmation. "I can feel your consciousness coming from that stone."

It wasn't the first time that she had this kind of contact with the Holy Scepter.

But this was the first time that she actually paid attention to it.

<"That's correct, Lady Soleil,"> the Holy Scepter said. <"The red stone attached to my physical body came from a fragment of the Sky God's heart. Hence, I was born with consciousness.">

Tilly fell silent for a moment.

To be honest, as Soleil Rosenberg, she had tamed the Beast Gods. Hence, she spent a lot of time with them.

That also meant she had spent some time with the Beast Gods' Spirit Guardian.

[Moreover, my brother even left his own Spirit Guardian to protect me.]

But she hadn't tried creating a Spirit Guardian on her own.

Having said that, she had a feeling that she could do it.

[Let's just follow our guts.]

"I have to melt that red stone with my flame," Tilly said, her purple eyes glowing. "That stone needs to be Julian's heart, and your home as a Spirit Guardian."

<"I'll leave it to you, Lady Soleil,"> the Holy Scepter said. <"I trust you.">

WINCHELL coughed up blood.

He might have bitten off more than he could chew when he forced Kyro to leave Aku Moonchester's body.

Although he succeeded, fighting Kyro in his "raw" form might end up killing him.

[Why is there such a huge difference between the power of a main god and a Beast God?]

This was the first time in his life that he ever felt weak.

"I knew I shouldn't have let you puny Beast Gods step into the heavens. Now you think you're on the same level as the major gods."

It was Kyro's voice.

After leaving Aku Moonchester's body, the Moon God had turned into a semi-transparent lump of Mana.

It also took the form of a giant.

[Fortunately, he's still in his incomplete form.]

"You have yourselves to blame," Winchell said, trying to fly away with his almost broken phoenix wings. "After all, it was your negligence that allowed the Beast Gods to grow this much."

To be honest, he was trying to escape and grab Aku Moonchester's body.

But Kyro's invisible yet gigantic hand grabbed him by the torso– squeezing him hard until he was coughing up blood.

[This damned old god…!]

Winchell's sufferings didn't end there.

Kyro, that bastard, forcefully clipped one of his wings with an unseen force.

Winchell couldn't help but yell in agony.

But the Moon God wasn't done yet.

Winchell almost cried in pain again when that old bastard god touched his other wing but, all of a sudden, the Moon God stopped.

"Stop bullying my uncle!"

Huh?

Winchell was shocked to hear Winter's voice, and he was even more shocked to see his nephew descend while riding on the back of the Black Serpent.

Winter and Kiho came to his rescue.

[But where is my precious little sister?]

***

[IT'S ALMOST done.]

Tilly could already see the tiny red bird forming from the melted red stone.

It wasn't just an ordinary red bird.

[It's alive.]

Tilly smiled, letting out a sigh of relief. "It's your Spirit Guardian, Julian."
