Winter's Trick

Winter's Trick

DAMMIT!

Kiho had been careless.

He lowered his guard when he thought the Moon God, his damned father, had run away after he arrived with his son.

After all, the Moon God's presence suddenly disappeared.

However, he focused his attention on his father's presence and he ignored Aku Moonchester's presence.

[I thought he was unconscious…]

Hence, he was shocked when that bastard suddenly snatched Winter away from him.

Kiho growled angrily while punching the wall that trapped his son inside. His hands, which were covered with ice, didn't even scratch the dark wall that was definitely made of the Moon God's power.

[Winter!]

"Get out of the way, Kiho."

Kiho barely had time to dodge Wixx's gigantic fireball.

If he didn't move when he did, then he would have been burnt by the Red Phoenix's flame.

The red flame that licked the wall immediately spread like wildfire until the entire thing was covered with it already.

Kiho became hopeful, thinking that Wixx's flame would melt the wall.

However, the red flame was quickly distinguished until it completely disappeared.

"Ah, dammit," Wixx cursed, punching the wall with his flaming hand. "What the fuck is this thing?!"

That was what Kiho wanted to know as well.

"I'm pretty sure the wall is created by Kyro," Kiho said, his voice full of bitterness. "But I can't feel the Moon God's consciousness. He probably 'slept' to conserve his energy."

Because being conscious while stuck in his formless shell would take more energy.

Hence, the Moon God temporarily dedicated himself to be a wall, giving up his consciousness at the moment.

[The Moon God didn't become a major god for nothing.]

"Why is that damned old man helping Aku Moonchester?" Wixx growled angrily. "They should have just killed each other."

Kiho wanted to listen to the Red Phoenix, but he focused more on how to rescue his son.

He looked up at the tall wall ahead of him.

It was so high that he couldn't see the end.

[But it's a wall and not a dome. It's bound to have a hole on top of it. And that might be the only entrance.]

He wondered if he should turn back to his serpent form again.

"What are you thinking, Kiho?"

Kiho turned to Wixx, and he realized that the Red Phoenix was the master of air and not the Black Serpent. "Do you still have the power to turn into a Red Phoenix and fly?"

"Fly? What are you planning?"

"If we can't break the wall, we just have to climb over it," Kiho said, pointing a finger upwards. "It's either you fly us until we reached the end of the wall, or we climb the wall in my Black Serpent form. Which do you think would be faster?"

"Flying is faster, of course," Wixx said, finally realizing Kiho's plan. "But you have to lend me your strength to fix my wings first, my dear brother-in-law."

[I'm only your brother-in-law when you need something from me…]

[IT'S ALMOST done.]

Tilly could already see the tiny red bird forming from the melted red stone.

It wasn't just an ordinary red bird.

[It's alive.]

Tilly smiled, letting out a sigh of relief. "It's your Spirit Guardian, Julian."

She didn't know how long she had been in that room.

But she made sure that she used her Black Flame to melt the red stone. After all, her Black Flame was stronger than her Red Flame.

To be honest, she wasn't confident at first.

However, thanks to the consciousness of the Holy Scepter, it became easier for her to turn it into a Spirit Guardian.

Hence, she succeeded.

[I just practically gave it a separate shell so it could live even after separating from the physical form of the Holy Scepter.]

Thank goodness her Brother Wixx created her Guardians in the past.

"You really did it, Lady Tilly," Saint Forrester said in an amazed voice. "You're truly the Supreme Fire Mage."

"I did my part," Tilly said, then she turned to the saint. "Now it's up to you to turn the melted red stone into Julian's new heart."

The saint nodded, his face serious. "Leave it to me, my lady."

"M-Mother…"

Tilly immediately knelt beside Julian and held her son's hand. "What is it, baby?"

"I can't breathe," Julian said, closing his eyes. "My chest hurts…"

She pained her to see her son in that state.

However, she didn't have time to cry. She immediately pulled herself together.

Tilly turned to Saint Forrester. "Do it now, Your Holiness."

WINTER looked up and realized how tall the wall was since it was practically touching the sky.

[It's really high…]

The fact that his daddy and Uncle Winchell hadn't come to his rescue yet only meant one thing: they couldn't.

His daddy and his uncle were both Beast Gods.

But if they couldn't break the wall, then the two wouldn't have any other choice but to climb the wall.

"Have you realized how grim your situation is, my beloved nephew?"

Of course, he just ignored Aku Moonchester's mocking.

[This wall is like the Moon God's body, isn't it?]

Winter placed a hand on the wall, then he frowned when he realized that the wall was sticky and slimy.

It was as if he had put his hand inside the Moon God's body.

[Wait… is the wall hard on the outside and soft on the inside?]

If that was the case, then…

Winter shut his eyes tight and forced himself to turn into his Moon Serpent form.

He knew that he succeeded.

However, Aku Moonchester laughed at him.

"What a pathetic sight," Aku Moonchester mocked him again. "You're just bigger than an average big snake, Winter Nystrom."

Winter opened his serpent eyes, then he bit the wall.

Yes, he nibbled on the wall as if he was nibbling on a chewy candy. But, his fangs sunk deep into the wall since it was soft.

[This should work.]

"Stop with your silly games now, my dear nephew," Aku Moonchester said coldly, grabbing him by his slimy neck. "I don't want a boring fight."

Argh!

Winter may have used too much of his venom since he felt so exhausted that he automatically turned back to his human form.

Aku Moonchester then grabbed him by the neck.

He grabbed his "uncle" by the arms, then he smirked.

"Why do you look scared, "Uncle?"" Winter asked mockingly. "Have you realized how my venom would affect the Moon God?"

Aku Moonchester's face scrunched up, then he strangled Winter harder…

… the same time the wall around them slowly crumbled.

"AAARRRGGGHHH!"

And that was the Moon God's loud cry.
