Remember the Feeling

Remember the Feeling

TILLY was amazed while watching Saint Forrester work his "magic."

The saint gathered the melted red stone in his hands.

After the red stone melted, it turned into something similar to molten lava– it was hot despite looking like a syrup.

"Are you okay, Your Holiness?" Tilly asked worriedly while holding the sleeping red bird in her hands. It was Julian's Spirit Guardian that resembled a sparrow, only it was red in color. "Your hands…"

"The amount of heat coming from the Holy Scepter's melted fragment is tolerable," Saint Forrester said in a serious tone. "Don't worry about me. This isn't the first time I'm making a heart from a god's fragment."

Ah, right.

Saint Forrester was the beloved son of the Sky God.

And, in the past, the saint had several "siblings."

[Just like how the Holy Scepter gained consciousness because of the Sky God's fragment, the saint's "siblings" may have also been born the same way. The difference was the Holy Scepter has a rod for a shell, while the saint's siblings had human bodies.]

"Your Holiness, is the heart you're making for Julian would still be connected to the Sky God?" Tilly asked sternly. "After all, you're making a heart from a fragment of the Sky God's heart."

Although that was the only way to save his son, she still wouldn't be happy if Julian would suddenly gain a connection to the Sky God for having a new heart made from the Sky God's fragment.

[I'm so sick of these gods causing problem to my family…]

"Don't worry, Supreme," Saint Forrester said while molding the "molten lava" in his hands as if he was just playing with clay. "My father doesn't have control over the fragments that are already detached from his physical body."

She was relieved to hear that.

"Thank goodness… oh."

Tilly trailed off, then she turned pale when she realized that the "molten lava" in Saint Forrester's hands had already took the form a human heart.

Yes, it truly looked like a genuine human heart now with all the blood and veins in it.

And, yes, the 'heart' was also beating as if it was alive.

"It's now ready," Saint Forrester said. "As soon as I put this heart in Lord Julian's chest, I need you to put his Spirit Guardian in his heart, Supreme. After all, this heart would only be effective if it has a Core."

Every Mana user had their Cores in the center of their hearts, after all.

"Alright," Tilly said, nodding. "I'm ready, Your Holiness."

"Julian is ready, too," Solenn said, her hands placed on Julian's chest. The young princess couldn't close the hole in Julian's chest, but she was using her power to numb his pain. "Please hurry up or else, Julian will feel the unbearable pain again."

The only reason Julian calmed down was because of Solenn.

[She's acting like an anesthesia to numb Julian's physical pain.]

"Hang in there, Princess," Saint Forrester said, then he unceremoniously put the new heart in Julian's chest as if he was just placing an object in it. "The process of closing up his chest wound will definitely put Lord Julian in another hell."

What?

Tilly didn't hear about that in advance, hence she was shocked when Julian screamed in agony once again.

She felt helpless as she couldn't do anything for her poor son.

[Please stop putting Julian in pain…]

"WHY DO YOU look scared, "Uncle?"" Winter asked mockingly. "Have you realized how my venom would affect the Moon God?"

Aku Moonchester's face scrunched up, then he strangled Winter harder…

… the same time the wall around them slowly crumbled.

"AAARRRGGGHHH!"

And that was the Moon God's loud cry.

Kyro's scream full of agony obviously distracted Aku Moonchester, causing him to look around and watch the wall around them crumble.

Winter used that opportunity to attack.

He created an ice dagger and stabbed Aku Moonchester in the chest.

Or, at least, he tried.

Aku Moonchester threw him as if he was nothing but a rag before he could even stab his heart.

Fortunately, he still managed to stab the evil emperor in the arm.

Winter used his flame to cushion his fall as he hit the wall behind him. His flame was weaker than his ice, so he used it to break his fall. If he used his ice, he would just hurt his back further.

That was how he was able to land perfectly on his feet.

[The wall is still 'breathing…']

It hadn't completely crumbled yet because of how tall it was. The debris were falling all over, but the wall was still standing stall. There were cracks all over it, though.

Even so, Winter was still disappointed.

[When I bit Elis Ripperton with my venom, he quickly lost his ability as a god. But even after I bit the Moon God, his presence as a divine being remained strong…]

"How dare you get distracted while fighting me?"

Argh.

Aku Moonchester was in his face again.

"Uncle, your fighting your favorite nephew too seriously," Winter said playfully, opening his hand while creating a sword made of ice. "Can't you give me some slack?"

Aku Moonchester laughed. "You're the boy destined to swallow the moon. If you were in my shoes, would you give your killer the chance to end your life?"

Huh?

The prophecy said Winter was destined to kill Aku Moonchester, but the prophecy never said how he was supposed to do it.

[But Aku Moonchester said I was destined to swallow the moon…?]

As the Moon Serpent, he indeed had swallowed moons in the past.

Ah, right.

He suddenly remembered something very important.

[Aku Moonchester was a moon.]

"You were born a moon, Aku Moonchester," Winter said in disbelief when the realization hit him. "Hence, you're supposed to die as a moon."

The arrogant smile on Aku Moonchester's face suddenly disappeared. "Stop calling me a moon, you little bastard. Can't you see I'm already human? And I'm about to be a god soon."

"Once a moon, always a moon," Winter said, his eyes glowing menacingly. Then he licked his lips as a strange kind of hunger suddenly overtook his system. "I remember the feeling of looking up the sky, wondering what the moons that brighten up the world would taste like." He touched his stomach with his free hand. "Is this the hunger of the Moon Serpent?"

He felt in his bones.

Winter, suddenly feeling starved while looking at Aku Moonchester, could feel it in every fiber of his being– he was about to turn into the Moon Serpent that he was supposed to be.

[But why do I feel like I'd lose my sanity if I did?]
