Mommy Villainess

Retreat

Retreat

WIXX was busy melting the ice that trapped Winter, in his Moon Serpent form, when he was suddenly hit by a huge bolder covered in a strange flame.

He didn't avoid the debris because why would he?

[I'm the Red Phoenix, and there's no stronger fire in the world than mine.]

Or so he thought.

He was shocked when the debris hit him on the back– sending him flying because of the unexpected impact.

His red flaming wings protruded on his back automatically when his body was thrown upwards. Thanks to that, he was able to stop himself from hitting the collapsed wall behind them. However, the debris was still stuck to his skin.

[And it hurts so damn much.]

Moreover, instead of the debris getting melted by his red flame, it was his skin that almost got melted by the strange flame. Fortunately, he was able to tear off the debris that stuck to his skin.

And yeah, the result wasn't pretty.

His skin was so burnt that if he wasn't a god, he would have fainted from the pain already.

[What the hell was that?]

He stared at the burning debris of the "wall" that collapsed earlier. At first, he thought the flame was black. But looking at it closely, the flame was actually dark violet.

Wait.

[Dark violet flame?]

Wixx suddenly froze, breaking out in a cold sweat.

[No, it can't be…]

"Brother, watch out!"

Wixx was surprised to hear Soleil's voice, but he was even more surprised to see another huge flaming boulder coming his way.

It was embarrassing to admit this, but the boulder was charging at him so fast that he knew he couldn't avoid it. Hence, he was planning to block it using his own flame. But he didn't have to do that.

Soleil, her flaming black wings protruding on her back, kicked the boulder with her foot that was covered with her black flame.

"Soleil, that's dangerous!"

Fortunately, the boulder was sent flying without harming his precious younger sister's feet.

Even so, he was still worried.

"Soleil, what are you doing here?"

Tilly looked at him coldly. "You're welcome, Brother."

Wixx rolled his eyes at his precious younger sister. "Thank you for saving me."

Only then did she smile at him. "You're welcome."

Soleil's smile quickly disappeared as she looked around, though.

Especially when his precious younger sister found her husband with Aku Moonchester.

"Wow, the villain has leveled up."

[There she goes again, speaking in a strange language that she probably learned in her previous life.]

"Brother, please protect my babies," Soleil said in a hurry. "I'll check on Kiho."

Wixx was yet to respond when his precious little sister already took off and flew towards the Black Serpent.

And he didn't have time to chase after Soleil.

When he turned to Winter, he was surprised to see that Julian was already there…

… and then he cursed under his breath after seeing several burning boulders coming at Winter and Julian.

The two children had no idea that the flame was dangerous.

Wixx immediately flew towards his nephews and stood in front of them protectively. Then he created a ring of fire to make sure that the children would be safe from all sides.

<"Thank you, Uncle Wixx.">

"Thank you, Lord Wixx."

Wixx flinched.

The one who called him 'uncle' was Winter, and the one who addressed him formally was Julian.

Clearly, the second child was still distant from him.

And it was understandable.

[Let's not think about that for now.]

"If a stray burning boulder managed to get through the barrier I created, make sure to avoid it. Don't touch it at all costs," Wixx warned his nephews sternly. Then he clenched his jaw, annoyed. "That flame is the Hellfire."

Tsk.

[Why did the natural enemy of gods suddenly appear in the human world?]

***

TILLY frowned when she recognized the flame that Aku Moonchester was using to melt the ice swords that attacked him nonstop. "Where did you get the Hellfire from, Aku Moonchester?"

Aku Moonchester smirked. "Why don't you ask your husband, Supreme?"

Huh?

She noticed that Aku Moonchester's aura had also changed along with his appearance, but her brain was trying to deny it.

[This can't be…]

Plus, Tilly also noticed that Kiho was acting strange.

Although her husband's eyes lit up when he saw her, he didn't say anything. In fact, he avoided her gaze as if he couldn't bear to look at her.

[Just what did Aku Moonchester say to my husband?]

"Kiho, I don't know what Aku Moonchester did or said to you, but I'm pretty sure it's just nonsense," Tilly said firmly, touching Kiho's arm carefully. "You know that…"

She was forced to stop talking when she felt an attack coming their way.

Tilly raised her arms and created a wall of fire in front of them.

Kiho was a tad faster than her, though.

Her husband stood in front of her protectively while creating a ring of ice wall around them.

After all, boulders burning in Hellfire were also thrown behind their backs. If it wasn't for Kiho's ice wall, then they would have already been hit by the boulders that came from their blind side.

[This is why you shouldn't talk in the presence of an enemy.]

That was a lesson they learned the hard way.

"See you later, Brother, sister-in-law."

It was Aku Moonchester's voice.

Tilly's view was obstructed by her own wall of fire and Kiho's wall of ice.

However, her sharp eyesight allowed her to see Aku Moonchester getting swallowed by a huge dark violet flame before he completely vanished.

[He escaped…!]

After that, the boulders attacking them lost their flames – causing the boulders to fall one by one.

Tilly contemplated running after Aku Moonchester, however…

"Honey, what if my father was actually a demon?"

"What?" Tilly asked, confused. "Did Aku Moonchester say that the Moon God was a demon?"

"Honey, you must have noticed Aku Moonchester's aura."

Right.

The emperor's aura was the opposite of divine power– it was demonic.

"If Aku Moonchester was born a demon, then the Moon God must also be one," Kiho said, facing Tilly with a frightened look on his face. "What if I have demon blood in me, too? What if I passed that filthy blood on our children? What if you end up hating me…"

That assumption shook her.

But seeing Kiho on the verge of breaking down snapped her out of it.

[It seems like Kiho was really shaken by Aku Moonchester's revelation…]

She quickly gathered her husband in her arms.

"Nothing is certain yet, honey," Tilly said gently while rubbing Kiho's back. Her husband immediately hugged her tight. "But assuming that your assumption was correct and you did inherit the Moon God's demon blood, I will still stay with you and our children. There's no way in hell that I will hate you for something you have no control over, Kiho."

Kiho let out a sigh of relief, then he buried his face on her neck. "Thank you, honey," he whispered softly. "I love you."
