The Death Mage Who Doesn’t Want a Fourth Time

Chapter V13 Character Summary (2)

Bravatiyu – Human, 66 years old, male

A knight with the Title ‘Knight of Roaring Thunder,’ one of the Five Knights of Alcrem that serve the Alcrem Duchy. His skill never declined despite his age, and he was praised for the ferocious energy he brought when he stepped onto a battlefield.

However, he met a valiant and honorable end in the battle to retake the former Scylla territory, which was orchestrated by Duke Rudel Sauron. Due to his efforts and those of the ‘Knight of a Thousand Blades’ Baldiria, who was also heavily wounded, casualties among the soldiers were kept to a minimum.

The soldiers from the various duchies that participated in the battle grieve his death deeply and fear the superior Skeleton that slew him, referring to it as the ‘Slayer of the Roaring Flames.’ The other duchies have sent the Alcrem Duchy letters of praise for him and gifts of sympathy for his loss.

Bards have created songs dedicated to him and playwrights have written plays with titles like ‘The Tale of the Knight Bravatiyu.’ Although he was previously only well-known in the Alcrem Duchy, like what is called a local celebrity on Earth, he is now becoming known as a hero across the entire nation.

However, in truth, he was pierced by Bone Man’s sword, but he did not die. After being treated, he received treatment through ‘Youth Transformation’ and a little cosmetic surgery, and he has taken on the identity of Bravatiyu Junior, Bravatiyu’s illegitimate son.

Now, he is busy making preparations to begin working in the Demon Empire of Vidal at something like an embassy for the Alcrem Duchy, and frequently travels between both nations.

His wife and eldest son, who has become head of his house, know the truth. Their family matters are rather complicated, as they must act cold to this illegitimate child who has suddenly come to their family out of nowhere in the presence of others, but return to their ordinary family dynamics when nobody is around.

Bravatiyu himself is aware that he is becoming known as a hero in the Alcrem Duchy, and is worried that a statue of him will be built next to the statue of Goldie.

It seems that this has provided some diplomatic benefits, however – Vandalieu has recognized him as being in a similar position to himself, and the Demon King Familiars have been treating him kindly.

Bone Man – Skeleton Blade High Kaizer, ? years old, male

The Skeleton who has gained the ‘Slayer of the Roaring Flames’ Title as a result of the aforementioned farce.

He has reached Rank 14, and it would not be strange for him to become not just a legend, but a myth. Up until now, he has not gained a Title because he leaves no witnesses alive and because his appearance is that of an ordinary Skeleton, so the acquisition of a Title is something that he should be happy about, but… Bone Man seems to think that the events that earned him the Title are somewhat dubious.

He is currently in discussion with his fellow Undead, believing that he could hide himself among the Undead inside Silkie Zakkart Mansion.

Silkie Zakkart Mansion – High Silkie, ? years old, female

The most dangerous Cursed Mansion in Orbaume, the capital of the Orbaume Kingdom, which was tamed (guided) by Vandalieu and turned into an Undead entity.

This mansion, located in the high-class nobles’ district, was once occupied by the younger brother of a certain duke (Duke Jahan) and his servants. However, the mansion’s owner possessed abhorrent interests that led him to lure homeless children and prostitutes from the slums into the mansion. He would then torture and brutally murder them in the mansion’s basement or its hidden chambers.

He also killed his former wife and servants. His crimes were finally discovered when he tried to abduct the daughter of a noble in another duchy, and he was stripped of his nobility and beheaded at the chopping block.

However, his victims’ hatred lingered, turning the mansion into a Cursed Mansion that took the lives of those who dared venture into it.

About a hundred years later, Vandalieu entered Orbaume, and the mansion was charmed by him, behaving like a friendly dog towards him and his companions. It welcomed their arrival by opening and closing its wooden gates and doors excitedly like a dog would wag its ears and tail. Unable to wait for them to walk through the gate, it used the vines that were growing on the grounds to embrace Vandalieu and Natania, who happened to be holding him, and forcibly invited them inside.

Vandalieu’s influence turning it into an Undead entity caused it to form its own personality – an aggregation of the spirits who fell victim to Duke Jahan’s younger brother. It has also become able to create a split entity that looks exactly like a human, if one ignores its unnaturally pale face. This split entity can take the form of the slum children or the mansion’s servants, but it usually takes the form of the personality that lingered the most strongly – the former wife of Duke Jahan’s younger brother, a beautiful woman in her mid-thirties with an elegant and graceful air about her.

However, there is a childish side to her personality, and she is only friendly with Vandalieu and his companions. She is a dog-like haunted house that eagerly welcomes Vandalieu by rattling her windows and doors.

And although the Senopa Company is not an ally of Vandalieu’s, she is sincerely grateful to the employee who introduced her to Vandalieu rather than another Cursed Mansion. She even wishes to offer him words of gratitude and a present if she has the chance to meet them.

That employee is unlikely to ever go anywhere near the mansion, however.

Sam and Cuatro’s capabilities mean that Vandalieu expects much of her; because she is expected to fly through the sky despite being a mansion, she is wondering just how she is supposed to do that.

There are numerous Undead, plant-type and bug-type monsters that reside on the mansion grounds that have not been integrated as a part of her. The Undead are not those who fell victim to Duke Jahan’s younger brother, but those who were killed by the mansion after it became cursed, or corpses and spirits brought from elsewhere. The plant-type and bug-type monsters were once the garden trees and bugs that lived on the grounds.

The corpses and spirits in the garden have become Blood Suckers and Jubokkos, and they have been tamed by Vandalieu. It also seems that many of the plant-type monsters are under Eisen’s command.

The God of Origin – God

An aggregation of the deities that are born from the worship and fear of the people of Origin. The deity Pluto was created within it due to the worshipers of the Eighth Guidance, and because Rikudou’s research into death-attribute magic threatened the continued existence of the world, it gave its divine protection to Amemiya Hiroto.

Vandalieu became one of its entities after President Sergei broadcast footage of Vandalieu’s soul across the world.

Ordinarily, deities born within the God of Origin do not share the original’s senses, memories, or personality – as is the case for Pluto.

However, perhaps due to Vandalieu possessing ‘Root Source,’ the deity Vandalieu shares these with the real Vandalieu, and both recognize each other as being the same person.

As a result, a part of Vandalieu has become a part of the God of Origin.

He now watches over the world of Origin with a warm gaze from eyes that resemble those of a dead fish, and he also watches over Amemiya Hiroto and the others with a more tepid gaze.

Pauvina, Oniwaka, and Juliana are steadily climbing the ranks. Although the new arrivals have made their best efforts, neither Ulrika nor Mari have found themselves in the upper tiers, with Ulrika finishing at E-cup and Mari at D-cup if she doesn’t use ‘Metamorph’ to change her physique. Gabriel has entered at the bottom of the rankings, but she is still in her growth period; there is no guarantee that she will stay there.
