I Hunt and Purge Reincarnators

Chapter 12: Untrustworthy

Chapter 12: Untrustworthy

After Kel got his weapon inscribed he took a look at the list of functions it had thanks to the inscriptions. He was in a hurry, so he decided to use the command most suited for the moment.

"Sheath..."

As he said this command, the double bladed pole arm became engulfed in smoke and vanished. But if one looked closely they could see a small tattoo on Kel's arm in strange glyphs. After successfully getting his weapon forged he left. The chirpy dwarf was tasked with escorting guests halfway through the mountain, but this time the dwarf stopped just before the steps.

"Just the follow the stairs, and you'll be fine. Have a good day".

Kel smiled and nodded, the dwarf then turned to leave, but Kel kicked it down the steps, and it kept tumbling. It stopped and glared and Kel and some points, but he just kicked it again and continued on his walk down the mountain until they reached the bottom.

"You crazy human, how dare you! I'll inform the master an-".

Kel kicked it one last time for good measure and walked away.

"Enjoy the climb up. Have a wonder day. Heh"

Kel then met up with Akita and Silvya and soon Balor. Once gathered they left the City and Balor lead them towards Death Mountain. One of the largest Mountains on the continent. It was located in the Nether Woods, a large forest teeming with predatory creatures. The woods themselves are marked as a mid-tier 6 danger zone while the mountain was mid-tier 8. Ranks for the zone ran from low, mid to high and were further divided up into tiers from 1 to 10.

Balor led them through a path he had discovered by sheer luck. It led directly to Death mountain, where he then took them into a cave and activated a teleportation circle. When it was over they found themselves in what seemed to be a large underground City. It was an incredibly beautiful and majestic City like any he had seen. Balor then begun to explain as he walked.

"This is the lost City of Pandora. I'm still unsure as to which race this place belonged to as I found no records of or drawings whatsoever. But from what I can tell they incredibly intelligent and skilled in magic as well. What's strange is that there seems to be no homes, just a large castle in the deepest parts. Everything else is an Industrial building. I wondered how such could stay maintained all these years, but I got my answer after investigating for many weeks. COME OUT!"

As Balor said this, Thousands of people began popping out of buildings and hidden passages. They were all clad in black with blindfolds on their eyes. Balor smiled excitedly as he introduced them.

"These are Creation Homunculi, their sole purpose is to create and work, create and work non-stop. The Homunculi come in many forms, hence why am unsure of the race. They only say the former owner died before they could create. So I made it my purpose in life to make this the best. Creation center in existence. The only thing lacking are mana mid-crystals of each element. Otherwise, this place isn't lacking in materials. I offered selling materials for gold by they refused. Only when crystals are in place can they allow the new owner to do as he/she pleases. In all honesty it will take years to match fully operational Industrial cities but if you make this investment you'll own a source of revenue and top quality devices. I only ask for credit for my inventions and quality pay."

Kel of course agreed to this offer. Although this place had close to no benefits of owning it as of yet. It could at least give some income. Kel had already planned on investing in businesses once in New Babylonia,, but this was even better. So after he agreed they went to purchase the needed crystals back in the City and came back.

Once back they went into the castle like building where the core was located. After the crystals were embedded, Kel had to activate using a large amount of mana. Now he understood why Balor was on that mountain and willing to share this discovery. Creation Magi are known to possess the lowest mana pools of all three groups. Kel judged from the amount he put in that it would take at least a mid-tier Pure holder to activate.

"Y-you, did it? Haha, yes! Finally".

Kel didn't like being fooled and turned to Balor to confront him about what his true intentions were.

"I know I'm not the first person you brought here, Balor, so either tell me the real truth or..."

Akita came close to the two and barked loudly, terrifying Balor. Balor begun to sweat more as he backed himself to the wall.

"W-wait, wait good sir I'll explain truthfully. *sigh*, I did say the truth about not knowing this place's origins. In fact, I speculate they are many hidden world's throughout the many continents of this world as many nations have discovered one's similar to this. From the information known by the public, each of these forgotten lands as they called vary, this one is a creation center while some may be armories, treasure troves, rich in minerals or libraries."

"For example, the Thestria Library in the land of the elves is a forgotten land. It is the reason they are unmatched in magic. New Babylonia has an armory and mineral rich forgotten land, which is why they are so powerful. Lastly Yggdemillenia has a treasure filled forgotten land, they started out as a noble family but rose into a powerful empire with an established monarch. I'll admit I brought a few people before you, but I had offered them the same deal but all of them told me to leave once I explained it all."

"I am not a greedy man. I just wish to leave behind a legacy and prove the people who called me useless wrong. But every potential investor wasn't willing to share and would threaten to kill me if I insisted. Luckily they all perished from losing all their mana. Sadly the crystals always exploded, and I had to risk my life again. That is all true I swear, I am no threat to you, plus you are now the owner. If you die I'd have to risk my life once more. Please believe me, good sir..."

Kel called off Akita and walked near Balor and spoke.

"Alright then but I'll be honest as well, I don't trust you, so I expect to see if your words are true in the coming months Balor. That will determine whether we will be friends or foes. I'll leave you to work now".
