I Hunt and Purge Reincarnators

Chapter 13: Ceremony Begins

Chapter 13: Ceremony Begins

After Kel left the forgotten land. He decided it was time he also began heading towards New Babylonia. He didn't travel directly but would sometimes stop in Cities or Towns nearby the route he was using. There he would interact with people to better understand the world he was in. He did this, so he wouldn't be seen as suspicious for not knowing a lot of common things. The rest of his time was spent practicing his spells and developing a fighting style suitable for him.

Just like that the days went by and the day of summoning finally. Unlike the ceremony of the previous generation, this one was a huge event. Many people were celebrating the fact that new seal bearers had appeared and that the demon scourge would be wiped out. Regular people could not view the ceremony, only nobles, royalty and emissaries from other nations and churches could attend. The venue was a large arena where a priest stood on the platform with a magic circle ready for the summoning.

In the luxurious stands, many members of noble family's, churches and other important figures were seated. But even among such prestigious figures, they are people who stand out or in this case families.

One such family was the Barthomeloi, One of the three great families of the Mage's Association and also one of the biggest families in New Babylonia. They are a family of rulers and lords that can be called embodiments of perfectionism and aristocracy. All the Barthomeloi's have an almost obsessive hatred toward the Demons and the Dead apostles (the aristocratic elite among vampires), possibly due to their dignity as humans or pride as aristocrats, and they spend their time hunting them as if it were completely natural. This obsession may go so far as neglecting any other responsibilities to participate in any hunts available.

The head of their family does not appear in public until he or she becomes perfected as a magus according to their standards. They are raised only inside the Barthomeloi manor, as having them appear outside while inexperienced appears to be an embarrassment for them. The current head, Barthomeloi Lorelei, has some degree of friendly relations with other families, but other information concerning her succession and her background are unknown.

Another prestigious family present was the Trambelio's. They are also one of the three noble families of the Mage's association and hold equal say in New Babylonia as one of its biggest families. Unlike the Barthomeloi's, they don't have a hatred towards Demons and were more open-minded during the negotiations with them. The current head is McDonnell Trambelio Elrond who is also the lord of the department of general fundamentals at the Mage's Association as well as head of its democratic faction. Which believes bloodlines should be disregarded and that those with talent should be in charge. McDonnell is a very tall, muscular man with short blond hair and blue eyes. He possesses a dual elemental affinity to wind and fire and is one of the most powerful Magus in the Association, Capable of firing spells of the highest tier over and over again for up to an hour without needing to stop. This is because of how fast he regenerates mana. Although big and scary looking, He is a fair and just man who cares a lot of his family and dotes on his two daughters more than anything.

The last of the three great noble families of the Mage's Association is the Valualeta family. This is a family that likes to explore new things and is open to change. The current head Inorai Valualeta Atroholm is the lord of the department of creation in the Mage's Association and also a key member of its Democratic faction. Her family being one of the big noble families in New Babylonia they played a role in accepting the Titan holders as she agreed with the Trambelio's on the matter much to the displeasure of the Barthmolei family.

Although those three were the most well known families in New Babylonia. They was one more family that was just as powerful as them. The Einzbern Family. The reason this family was not well known is that it had no branch families and kept its bloodline pure. The only known family to do so. This led to them not having as many human members as the other families,, but they made up for this with Homunculi. The family was greatly known for having the Greatest Creation Magus as well a former arch magus. This is why the family is unmatched in alchemy and Homunculi creation. Even what they consider failures, is a hundred times better than what any other family can offer. They are independent of the Mage's Association and only act on certain matters within New Babylonia. The current head is Jubstacheit von Einzbern (or simply "old man Acht")".

The other notable families were those of the Yggdemillenia Empire. The Yggdemillenia Empire had no royal lineage. It was made of many noble families and positions were given due to talent. The current head of the clan is Darnic Preston Yggdemillenia with his vice being Kirshtaria Wodime Yggdemillenia. Darnic had already lived for hundreds of years and is largely responsible for the clan itself. He is very open-minded as he had chosen a young lady from another family to be the next heir because she possessed what he called real talent.

Not many high ranking church official had come. They had instead sent one of their Saints to the ceremony along with other emissaries. Other figures present were the Queen of New Babylonia and her daughter, royalty from other nations and high ranking military personnel.

As soon as it became noon, the priest presiding over the ceremony began to speak.

"Today is the day we have long awaited for, Our goddess has blessed us with a new generation of seal bearers! Now watch as they summon their servants and together bring an end to the abominations that we calm demons!"

Many members in the crowd began to clap. After they stopped, the priest raised his hands in the air and spoke.

"May the seal bearer's come forth, so we may begin!"
