23. Coronation Ceremony 3
"So cool". Freyja cheered and her eyes shone brilliantly when she looked at the card in her hands.
"Hehe, right". Elaine puffed up her chest with pride when she heard Freyja's words.
"Teach me, teach me". Freyja immediately cheered again and pestered King like a loach.
She practically jumped on King's back and held his neck tightly.
Frigga was also looking at the cards thoughtfully while squinting her eyes.
She was quite intrigued with this little thing and found that it was quite entertaining.
Her personality was one where she would amass all the knowledge that she could get her hands on.
She just couldn't remain still when she saw something so intriguing.
"Hehe, it is very difficult to learn. I have already tried it". Elaine laughed gloatingly when she heard Freyja's words and bragged with her head high.
"Okay, let me teach you". King nodded gently and put Freyja down.
She obediently stood in front of him with Frigga also looking over with rapt attention.
"You do it like this". The. He started to explain everything to them one by one.
First, he showed them all the cards and told them the small details.
Then he gave them a tutorial on a simpler trick to find cards.
He even showed them different shuffles and juggled the cards left and right.
Even some of the other people in the room were looking over at King secretly with intrigued faces.
Aelsa was looking at this with a small smile and Frey also joined the kids in choosing cards.
The scene was getting quite harmonious between the children and the two adult parties of Alfheim and Vanaheim.
King first showed them how to do some simple tricks and gave the deck of cards to the three girls and looked around at the venue finally.
He had been busy all this while and didn't even look at the things in the hall.
The hall was quite with Golden ornaments at various places in the room.
There was a big golden throne at the end of the room with runic stairs lifting high up on a platform.
Odin was standing in front of the throne and talking to the other lords inside the room but his eyes were occasionally sweeping over to a corner of the room.
King followed his line of vision and saw a girl standing there. She was about Elaine's height and age with black hair and green eyes.
King immediately knew who it was as soon as he saw the girl and her features.
He didn't even wait and immediately made his way over to the girl.
"Hey, what are doing here alone?" King smiled and waved his hand in front of her with a smile.
He could only do this because he was quite a bit shorter than her in height.
Hela turned to look down a bit at King but then completely ignored him.
"Hey, why give me the cold shoulder. Let's go, I will show you something cool". King was persistent in his attempt and kept on talking without giving up.
"No need". Hela spoke coldly and continued to stare blankly at the room.
"Come on". King urged again and actually took Hela's hand in his.
"No". Hela said sternly and took back her hand.
Odin looked towards them and glared at her faintly when he saw her behaviour.
It wasn't time yet to antagonise the other realms. He had to tread carefully because of being a new ruler.
He didn't even have the approval of all people of Asgard. So he needed to keep these things under control.
Odin looked at her faintly and nodded his head to allow her to go with him.
King didn't notice this subtlety and was sulking a bit at being denied.
He was just a small kid after all and wasn't really that well versed in society.
"Let's go". Hela spoke coldly but this made King's face brighten like the sun.
"Let's go!" King cheered and led her towards the other girls.
"Hey guys, look who I found?" King quickly got the other's attention there and pointed at Hela.
"Uh, what's your name?" He asked in confusion because he forgot to even ask her name. Although he knew it but his memories told him that he couldn't outright say it without getting an introduction.
"Hela Odindottir". Hela introduced coldly without bowing in greeting like the other three girls before.
"Elaine Featherwine/Freyja/Frigga, nice to make your acquaintance". The other introduced themselves elegantly and then smiled at her.
"King Featherwine, the crown prince of Alfheim". King also followed suit in introduction.
"Let me show you something as well". King smiled and took the deck of cards from Freyja before showing a different trick to Hela.
Hela was also faintly interested after seeing the deck of cards and King's trick of finding her card effortlessly.
This trick actually had a faint hint of excitement on her face.
No matter how much she tries to be cold or stoic. She is still just a ten years old kid. Who hasn't had her hands dyed in blood yet.
She gets trained all day by the various warriors of Asgard and rarely gets the time to even see anything other than a blade.
So she is very susceptible to fun things when she sees them like this.
Because this is the first time that she has seen anything fun.
Aelsa also very conscientiously blocked Odin's vision that was peeking towards the children.
She could faintly infer some of the things about Hela from the news from the spies and her behaviour in front of her.
She knew that Odin might be quite strict with Hela and it wouldn't be good for the young girl to be seen doing things like this.
She couldn't blame her children for this but she could hide the things happening here.
All four of them had fun while playing together at this moment and their actions were blocked by Aelsa and Frey together.
So Odin was very frustrated by the duo's approach of masking his vision and probing on the area.
They were Realm lords as well. Maybe not as powerful as Odin himself but together, they could give him a run for his money.
