49. Important Talk
'I should talk to Mom about the incoming war'. King felt that it was time to make some preparations now that he had some voice in the court.
At least the ministers listen to his suggestions now and don't just treat him like a child after he has grown up a little.
'First go to Mom'. King looked towards the Throne room and flew on Chastiefol towards it.
"Mom". King came into the throne room and called Aelsa softly.
"What is it Dear?" Aelsa smiled and asked after looking away from the minister that she was talking to.
"An important thing". King said and flew off towards Aelsa's study.
Aelsa smiled at the others in the room and took her leave politely. She walked over to the room and didn't forget to turn on the enchantments.
"What is it dear?" She sat down opposite to King and asked seriously.
"Mom, I received a prophecy from Yggdrasil". King started solemnly and his face looked dead serious.
"What kind of Prophecy?" Aelsa's back straightened and her ears perked up when she heard it.
"A war is coming". King said and it was like a shiver went through Aelsa. The hair on her arms stood up like she had goosebumps.
"I see". Aelsa leaned back into the chair and sighed tiredly.
"Mom, you look surprisingly calm". King was a bit astonished and asked in puzzlement.
"I had a faint suspicion the last time Odin gave that proposal". Aelsa nodded her head with a smile and looked at King lightly.
"Mom, we only have about eighty years to lay out the best traps that we can". King said and his face turned even more solemn and serious.
"What do you propose?" Aelsa was a bit intrigued when she heard King's words.
"We can set up traps at places that an army can use to camp and converge. When they enemy decides to take the army here. We can ambush them and weaken them greatly". King said and pulled out a map of the region.
"That is good and all but what about the spies?" Aelsa smiled at King's attempt and didn't discourage but pulled out some holes from the strategy.
"I can send some truly trusted subordinates on the task. This can help conceal the traps but it won't be all that helpful in deterring massive armies". Aelsa also pointed out again.
"And who says that Trap has to be small". King smiled sinisterly when he heard her words.
"This forest is a good cover. If they enter these plains and travel through the forest then burn them alive". A gleam flashed in King's eyes and he spoke word for word.
Aelsa frowned and looked at King when she heard his words. This move was good but it was a bit evil from their standards.
Nature is their home and they try their best to preserve it. Destroying such a large patch of Forest will upset many.
"Mom, Nature can be restored again and people will forget. What matters more is on how to obtain victory?" King said and looked at Aelsa calmly without looking away from her frown.
"Okay, here we can set up some formations in the rocks to make the whole mountains slide and collapse if they go through this way". Now even Aelsa joined in on the madness and started to address different types of traps in every place that she could find.
They devised multiple devious plans and positions to lead the enemy armies. Plans like leading them through the enchanted forest by showing that they are weak and retreating.
Two mad people were currently devising plans to just devastate armies in different ways and even giving input on each other's plans.
Hiding fortresses with illusions around different places and also making some invisible cannons and catapults that can literally rip people to shreds.
The worst thing is that Illusions are used vastly to turn everything invisible. A silent is more deadly than a visible one.
King followed that principle to heart and made sure that all the things are just deadly and invisible. Just kill the enemy before they know what happened.
This will lower their morale and out great pressure on their psychology. Aelsa can very well accomplish all this and just erase the relevant from the involved personnel.
This way, all the preparations will be made and the people involved won't be able to tell the enemy armies of their plans.
Making sure that they are able to smoothly execute the plans and kill as many intruders as they can. Every place is well fortified and equipped.
They have eighty years to make these preparations and they can easily accomplish all this without any rush which will reduce the danger of any leakage.
Now they only have to start with their sinister plans and put everything they thought of into perspective.
'This should make sure that we can easily defend Alfheim. I am not strong enough yet to actually confront them all. So it's best keep my development steady and just protect my own home'. King looked through all of it and nodded his head with a smile.
The outcome of all this was exactly what he wanted. Now they can defend every part of Alfheim perfectly before the enemy even has the chance to drop in on them.
'Bifrost might be a problem but it is just an inconvenience'. King rubbed his chin and looked at the map.
'Now all I have to do is focus on growing as strong as I can within these eighty years. Afterwards, I can play a significant role in the war'. King mused and started walking back to his room.
When he came to his room. He saw Diane looking around the room slowly and cleaning the whole room.
'Guess, I should first finish my unfinished business'. King looked at Diane's back and smiled naughtily.
Hr tiptoed behind her silently without letting her know. "Boo". He yelled in her ear and Diane jumped high up.
"Your Highness!" Diane yelled with annoyance and her face looked red from the sudden panic attack.
"Hehe, sorry couldn't help it". King laughed and sat down on a chair while making Diane sit in front of him.
