100. Talk
Today, he finally got in touch with Howard. Actually, Howard wanted to meet King himself. So he contacted him and asked.
Right now, King is waiting in his office for Howard to come. 'He should be here any minute now'. King looked at his watch while thinking.
Just then, a knock was heard on the door and Emma's voice came around. "King, Howard is here".
"Let him in". King answered back and waited for Howard to come in.
Emma is working as King's secretary. So she handles all this kind of stuff for him. Since that is the job of a secretary and a bit more.
The last part is just his evil taste but Emma doesn't seem to mind and shy away from it. So they both relish this a lot.
Howard stepped inside the room as King was lost in his thought and tapped on the table to get his attention.
"You seem lost in thought". Howard questioned while sitting down on the chair.
"I was just thinking that something probably happened. Since you haven't contacted me in so long". King answered back with a smile. He has been thinking that for a while so there was no lie.
"Something did happen but before we get to that. Are you gay?" Howard nodded his head very seriously first and then asked this question in the same tone.
King nearly tripped out of his chair when he heard his words. "Are you serious right now?" He asked with a twitching eye.
"Of course I am. They way you said that sentence was proper Gay". Howard nodded his head seriously and even elaborated to King.
"Fuck off". King laughed and waved his hand at him to dismiss the matter.
"Alright, tell me what happened?" He very naturally changed the subject after they were done playing around.
"The Government feels that the threat of Super humans and Aliens is a lot bigger. We have had some findings on extra terrestrial life. Here take a look first". Howard said slowly and handed some papers over to King with a lot of pictures for evidence.
"We are thinking of department to fight these things especially. Currently, it is in a recruitment phase and I want you to be a part of it". Howard saw that he was finished reading and continued to say.
"What's the name of this department?" King put down the files and asked.
"Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division". Howard said it in one breath and King finally felt why they had to shorten.
"So short for SHIELD". King pointed it out and Howard's eyes shone immediately.
"Shield, that has a nice ring to it". Howard nodded his sagely while rubbing his chin with his eyes closed.
"Anyways, are you interested to join?" King just silently looked at Howard until he was done with his murmuring. Howard realised this and immediately asked.
"What role?" King bent a forward and asked with interest.
"As a Director of Shield. You don't have to get involved with management but major decisions will have your say in it and you can also make suggestion with a high level of authority". Howard said everything in one go before he allowed King to speak.
"So a hands off Director". King said and looked at him.
"Exactly." Howard smiled brightly and nodded.
"I'm in, I mean I lose nothing by doing it". King nodded his head in approval and smiled.
"That's good." Howard nodded with satisfaction and was obviously pleased with the reply.
"So who will be the actual director?" King asked and looked at him curiously. 'You have to get good acting skills like me'.
"The director is thought to Peggy for the moment and we'll see in the future". Howard answered simply because Peggy was quite good for the job.
"That's a good choice plus she is Steve's girlfriend. That will also help a lot". King nodded with satisfaction.
"Yeah, we took all that into consideration and it does give her more points when it comes to choice of Director". Howard also nodded his head in agreement.
Then both of them continued chatting about general stuff that happened during the time that they didn't contact each other.
Like this in a leisurely way, couple years went by extremely fast in the blink of an eye.
There hadn't been a lot of movement along the years and King went back to Alfheim for a while since something unexpected happened.
Odin had come to visit and he wanted to meet Alex to talk about something.
So, currently King was in Alfheim and was facing his relative from the Wife's side of the family since Odin was already Frigga's husband.
"You free Hela huh?" Odin started off with the question as soon as he spoke up.
"Yeah". King didn't deny it either and nodded his head.
"Why?" Odin had a complicated look in his eyes and asked. He had known this a long time ago but he couldn't bring the courage to ask.
He wasn't the young warmonger that he was back then and the him now was totally different from before. He was more mentally weak.
"Because she is my wife." King said seriously without a shred of hesitation in his voice.
"I see, good for her. I have done a lot of bad things and this was one of my regrets as well." Odin nodded his head and looked a lot more relieved than before.
"She wanted revenge and I helped her achieve it. She had the right to have her revenge." King looked back at him solemnly and spoke word for word.
"We need to keep it private now." King looked around at the room and waved his hand.
As his hand waved. Runes upon runes came out of his hand and merged together with all the walls around the room to make an airtight barrier.
"So let's get to the main thing. Are you here finally to discuss about Ragnarok?" King asked seriously.
