129. Conclusion
"Thanks Skynet." King didn't forget to thank Skynet.
"Now, let's get started on this project." King smiled heartily and followed Reed to the research lab.
Which brings us to the present.
After working on this project for a while and spending at least 2-3 billion dollars. The day of the test is finally here.
"Okay Susan, let's get started with the experiment." King smiled and looked at everyone's faces brimming with anticipation.
'Now to save and not to save from the cosmic storm is a problem.' King pondered in his mind on whether it was good to save them from the storm.
'Let's not save them from it and when they need to, I'll just cure them.' King finally came to a decision after thinking about it thoroughly.
Some people might like their powers and will not want to go back to their regular old days. King wouldn't like to go back to being normal either.
So letting them experience their own powers is a good test to see if they want their powers or not.
'But I'll do Ben a favour at least. I'll make his power switchable like the others.' King smiled when he thought of this and moved over to the machine.
He got into one of the pods and looked at the others. Everyone was full of anticipation. It maybe a historical moment for them.
"Yes." Everyone replied and the machine started working after King operated it from his watch.
The lab started shining brightly and huge amount of power was transmitted to the machine. Which made the machine shake a little and everyone felt a sudden dizziness.
The space warped around them and they found themselves in a completely new environment.
They were in a space shuttle in the earth's orbit. They reached this place in a second of them activating the machine.
"We did it." Everyone cheered loudly when they acknowledged what happened.
"King, we did it. We did it." Susan was so happy that she clung to King's neck and she put so much force in her jump that both of them spun around in place.
"Guys, I think we need to quit our celebrations." Reed suddenly said while looking at everyone gravely.
"What is it now?" Ben asked a but grumpily after he heard Reed.
They were finally able to have some celebrations for their invention and now Reed was spoiling the fun.
"Some cosmic rays from outer space are heading for us right as we speak. We need to put the shields up." Reed said. His face was really grim and he was showing the recording to everyone.
"Why don't we go back?" Johnny immediately made a suggestion that he thought was best.
"It'll take a whole day to recharge the battery. We have no other choice." Reed shook his head and operated the device to put the shields up immediately.
'Destiny is also quite a mystery. We are way ahead of schedule and this thing still happened somehow.' King shook his head slightly and didn't pay it any attention.
The space station started giving warning signs and red lights started glowing inside while all the weak spots were being covered with titanium shields one by one.
"We'll be okay." Reed heaved a sigh of relief and sat down on the chair behind him heavily.
"So beautiful." Susan looked at the incoming space storm through the camera screen and exclaimed.
"Yes, it is really beautiful and equally deadly." King also nodded his head in agreement and replied.
"No, it's not good." Reed cried out again when he saw the warning at the monitor. The Cosmic storm had breached into the station.
"Everyone, I'm sorry." Reed said like he just gave up.
As soon as he said that, the cosmic storm breached the control room and enveloped everyone inside.
King quickly took Susan in his arms and held her tightly while everyone else screamed from the pain that they experienced as a result of the mutation being caused.
Everyone passed out from the pain and laid on the floor in various different ways. Reed was laid out on the monitor while Johnny was on top of Ben.
King was still fine and he was still holding Susan. He laid her calmly on the ground and looked at the machine that was still intact.
It was already fully charged and was ready to go. He dragged everyone into the machine and immediately started it.
'Back to Midgard.' King thought and operated the machine. The machine shone brightly and everyone was transported back to the earth.
As soon as everyone experience the teleportation and came back to the earth. It made everyone wake up with a groggy head.
"Looks like everyone's alright." King got out of the machine and slowly helped everyone out as well.
"How are you still perfectly fine." Susan asked King in a puzzled way while clutching her head.
"I'm a super soldier remember?" King smiled and just thumped his Bicep with his hand.
Suddenly, all of them got out of control. Ben changed to a hulking figure full of stones and Johnny was literally lit ablaze.
Susan disappeared from everyone's eyes and Reed literally became a puddle of rubber on the ground. All of this happened really suddenly and no one had the time to even exclaim.
"What?" Johnny was astonished and suddenly exclaimed. He saw himself on fire and instinctively shouted out.
Ben was much calmer and looked at his body and tried to switch on and off from his current figure which wasn't successful as he didn't have control over himself yet.
"King!" Susan called out at the same time and tried to get close to King but her forcefield activated and she couldn't get close to him.
Reed just tried to stand up but he just went and down a bit funnily and couldn't control his shape effectively at all.
"Alright everyone, calm down and stop for a second." King shouted and waved to get everyone's attention.
