It was already close to year 2000 and there was about a month left till that date. King was currently visiting the baxter's building to meet the fantastic four.
'I warned Richard but that guy is still doing his cosmic experiments.' King sighed in his mind while looking at the door of the building with a complicated expression.
This mashup universe of X-men, Fantastic Four and Avengers was a proper mess and it couldn't be rectified either.
Everything was like a hodge podge of villains along with heroes. So King only ever intervened when the things were getting out hand.
'Well, let's go in. At least I can save them when they encounter the cosmic storm now.' King shook his head and got inside the building.
He came to the reception hall and saw that there was nothing there.
"Oi Richard, Susan, I am here!" King yelled to notify the four guys to see if he can get at least one guy's attention.
"Hey King, here to see Susan?" Just then Johnny walked in from out of the building and started teasing King as soon as he came in.
"Nothing of the sort. You should know more than me. Your so called experiment is about to happen today." King turned back to look at him and said with a weird face.
"Oh that, hehe sorry. I am just a bit absentminded these days." Johnny rubbed the back of his head and laughed awkwardly.
"Alright, operate the security and let's go in." King waved his hand to dispel the awkward atmosphere and hurried him.
"Okay." Johnny nodded his head and started walking towards the elevator and operated it with his card.
They both boarded the elevator and came to the 5th floor of the building. Where the experiment was taking place.
Everyone from Fantastic Four were here. Ben, Richard and Susan were currently tinkering with the portal which they were going to use.
"Yo guys, look who I brought with me." Johnny laughed out loud and waved at them hurriedly.
"Who is it Johnny?" Richard cleaned his hands with a cloth and looked over and asked.
"King." Johnny moved to the side and King made his entry while flicking the coat and both of them laughed at his ridiculous display.
"Yo guys." King waved his hand and greeted the four other people except for him and Johnny in the room.
"King, you are here my friend. We were waiting for you." Richard's face had a big smile and he came up to give King a strong handshake.
King was also helping them with the teleporter and was also funding the whole project. This was considered one of the subsidiary projects to King industries.
The military wanted to take control of the whole project but when King put down his stake on the whole thing. It was just rectified and they had no chance at all.
"Don't mention it." King waved his hand and then saw Susan walking towards him with a smile.
"And how is our blonde beauty?" King smiled and teased while looking at her big smile.
"Wonderful, all thanks to your help." Susan laughed and naturally took his arm like an instinct.
"You two get a room." Johnny booed and teased along with ben.
"Hmph." Susan squinted her eyes and harrumphed at the two of them in dissatisfaction but she still didn't let go of King.
"Haaaa." Richard sighed and just let go of worrying about it.
Ever since King joined the project and started helping them with it. Susan and him have been sticking together like a loach.
It's hard to see her get away from him when he is around them. It all started when King was looking for the fantastic four.
He doesn't like to use his own powers for everything and bit of unknown flavour in life will always spice things up.
He searched and even asked Skynet to identify them. It took a couple of hours but he found them and tried to get in touch.
"Skynet, where are they now?" King asked while facing the window.
Skynet projected a halo like hologram behind King and spoke up. "Miss Susan is currently getting cornered by some gangsters while the others are in the baxter building."
"Huh." King got a little stuck for a moment and then reacted immediately.
He quickly turned on his power and searched himself before he disappeared in a blur and came the near the alley.
"I would stop right there." He spoke grimly and walked in with a very oppressive aura.
"Who are you dude?" The guys looked back and one of the guys with piercings on his face and yellow hair asked arrogantly.
"Someone you don't wanna mess with." King answered and moved his wrist a little to get ready for some action.
"Oh, how about you mess with this?" The punk ran forward and tried to punch King but next second he was toppled over his head and touched the ground with his back really hard.
The wind was knocked out of his lungs in one go. He was so suffocated suddenly that he was having hard time breathing.
"Do you guys want the same?" King's oppressive aura was like he just activated Conqueror's Haki.
The Punks were frightened and almost fainted from the shock. It's good that King controlled the shock or he will have some unconscious bodies around the alley.
"Are you alright?" King walked over to Susan and asked her very gently.
But he didn't get a reply back. King looked and found out that she was knocked out. He could also smell a strong fragrance of alcohol from her.
'She probably got something mixed in her drink.' King shook his head and called the police.
Within minutes, the police arrived with their sirens and immediately surrounded the alley.
"Hands behind you back." The officer shouted and immediately walked over to King with his gun pointed at him.
