107. Battle Royale
Dragon decide to change Jon's physical training for today. He will need to spar many people but they can only use their body. No ninjutsu, or anything with chakra or devil fruit for the revolilutionaries. Today they will have a rest day from work to train their combat capability.
"Wouldn't it take forever if everyone need to spar?"-Jon
"That's right, so the sparring session will be battle royale. It's a free party."-Dragon smirk
"Damn old man, you just want to watch and enjoy this aren't you?"-Jon
"Of course, or do you want me to participate?"-Dragon
Everyone immediately shake their heads and close Jon's mouth. Jon will gladly fight with Dragon again even if he will lose. He will gain more experience fighting a strong opponent like Dragon.
"Kid, you are prohibited to use your red eyes in this fight. It will be even better if you can close your eyes."-Dragon
"Alright, i will try closing my eyes sometime. I have start to feel some intent yesterday, but i can't really grasp it."-Jon
"Really? That's good, maybe your sense is rather sensitive. You just need to grasp that feeling and we will move to the next step."-Dragon
Everybody got into position and they only wear short pants to show that they don't have any protective gear. The fighting stage is the whole training ground which is as big as 2 football field. It's the football that the world knows, where we use our foot to play the ball.
Jon stay in the middle with Sabo, and they face each other. Jon also never defeat Sabo even when he use all his power. It's just like how he can't defeat Dragon, but he can give a fight to Sabo, unlike Dragon.
"I will defeat you today, Sabo."-Jon grin
"You can always try, but the result will not change."-Sabo smile
"EVERYONE READY? FIGHT!"-Dragon
The battle royale started, and Jon lunged to Sabo. Jon send a punch to Sabo's face, but Sabo avoid it to the left. Then Sabo counter with his own left punch to Jon's chest. Jon see this and he spin his body to the right and send a knee attack. Sabo cover his hand in Armament and defend Jon's kick.
"Tch, Armament again."-Jon
"It's not violating the rules."-Sabo
"ARMAMENT HAKI IS NOT ALLOWED TOO."-Dragon
"Eh?"-Sabo
"This is a training session to train your physical power, so Armament Haki is not allowed. Observation Haki is fine, but not Armament."-Dragon
"Hehe, get ready to lose Sabo!"-Jon
"In your dream."-Sabo
They continue to fight, and now Jon can hit and give damage to Sabo more than usual. But Jon still get much more damage than Sabo, their basic are far apart. Suddenly some people attack them, so Jon & Sabo decide to clear the others first.
"I can defeat more people."-Sabo
"You think i can't?"-Jon
Jon & Sabo jump into the crowd and fight some people at once. Jon take this chance to hone his taijutsu without sharingan and to hone his sense. He keep his body low and fight with minimum energy. From his experience at war, he know that he need to save energy for long battle.
Jon now mostly use his opponent's energy and momentum to give more damage. He focus on redirecting and dodge with small margin. He try to avoid from defending or parrying. He also didn't use high power attack, but use enemy's momentum to give higher damage. At least, that's Jon's intention.
'Shit, it's easy to think, but hard to do. I'm too reliant on my sharingan, so now when i can't use it, i'm having a hard time.'-Jon
Jon try his plan, but he can't do it well, he always use his sharingan in his fight, so now when he can't use it, he lost almost half of his power.
'Hahaha, not so strong without that eye huh, kid?'-Kurama
'Shut up you lazy fox! Tch, i need to focus and feel the intent and presence around me.'-Jon
Jon try to focus and calm his mind. He will not go anywhere with complaining. He take a deep breath and get ready. Someone try to attack him, so Jon focus and dodge, then he send his punch at his opponent's chest. Suddenly he got hit from his right side and he roll.
Jon keep calm and focus, he stand up again then fight his attacker. Jon keep fighting and getting hit from his blind spot. He fight like that for many times, but he keep his calm and focus. He has fought many times and got into life and death situations too, so he can keep his composure in a mere sparring session.
After more than an hour of battle, there are only 100 man standing from about 1500. Jon is one of them, and he also got many wounds. But instead of getting weakened by his wounds, Jon feel stronger and more focus than ever. The fight continue and someone attack Jon again. He attack Jon with right punch, but Jon didn't move.
'It's a feint, the real attack is left low kick.'-Jon
Jon move behind, and avoid a low left kick, surprising his opponent. Then Jon duck down and avoid a high kick from behind. Dragon see this and grin, Jon start to grasp Observation Haki.
Jon then use a very low kick to the one behind him. Jon kick his opponent's feet and he fall. Then Jon send an elbow to the falling opponent's stomach, knocking him out. Jon didn't stop and he send a jump kick from his crouching position to the first opponent, surprising him and he can't dodge. Jon got his chin, and then Jon slam his feet down, make his opponent fall to the ground.
Jon has start to grasp the feeling of his Observation Haki. So he start to close his eyes and focus on that feeling. He can sense some people around him, and he feel some different intent. Then he sense someone coming at him and he sense a danger from the top right. Jon crouch and then he spin his feet in the low ground, but didn't hit anything.
'I'm wrong? No, he dodge.'-Jon
Jon feel a danger from above, so he roll to the side, and then he heard a bang on the ground. So he smile and sure that there is someone there and he feel it. Jon stand up again and got into stance. He feel the attack again and he act accordingly. Now he can feel an attack coming, but he can't really feel anything if his opponent didn't attack.
Jon keep doing this for sometime, and he also lose the sense sometime. But he can always feel it again after focusing his mind. Another thing is that he can't use it with his eyes open. He always lose focus when he can see.
Now, there are only 23 people left, and almost everyone have many wounds in their body. Without Armament or special skills, they lose almost half of their real strength. Even Sabo got many bruises, altough it's not as many as Jon.
Jon's body is covered with bruises and wounds, his left eye and lips are swollen too. Jon can't even stand without shaking and his left hand can't move again. Even so, he is still standing with a strong light in his eyes. He want to fight again and grow stronger. He feel he has grown stronger and can keep getting stronger.
"Come!"-Jon
The others also in bad condition, only some stronger people are in better condition. Then, someone attack Jon, so he prepare himself and avoid the first attack, but the second attack hit him. Jon didn't fall and he send his own attack with right kick from the side. His opponent can dodge back, then move forward to attack Jon. Jon retract his right feet that stay on the air and hit his opponent head from behind. Jon use the recoil to spin and attack from the front with knee kick.
The ones that watching the fight from the sides and other fighters can't believe what they see.
"Impossible, with that condition, he is able to do that kind of thing."-Koala
"Why did he push himself this far? It's only a sparring session."-Hack
"It's a sparring session for everyone else, but not for him."-Robin
"What do you mean?"-Hack
"This is a real battle for him, he know the best place to grow is battlefield, so he think of this as real battlefield. He will get killed if he lose in a battlefield, that's what he think right now."-Dragon
"He is someone that hate losing, just like the others."-Robin
"I think his hate for losing is stronger than others."-Koala
"No, the ones i mean are some people in our crew."-Robin smile
Jon succeed in defeating his opponent, but then another one come. It's the stronger member and he have better condition than Jon. Jon get ready to fight, but then the attacker got attacked by someone else instead, it's Sabo that attack him.
"If i wait any longer, someone else will defeat you."-Sabo
"Don't worry, i will not fall again."-Jon
"Then show me!"-Sabo
Sabo then attack Jon and Jon try to dodge, but Sabo is a lot faster than his opponents earlier. With Jon's condition right now, he can't dodge properly and Sabo's punch hit him. Jon got hit and flung some meters back, but he still standing.
"Heeh, you really didn't want to fall."-Sabo
"If i fall, i can't stand again afterall."-Jon
"So honest, you can't say that to your enemy you know."-Sabo
"You must know it already, even if i don't say it."-Jon smirk
Sabo just smile and attack Jon again. Jon try to feel Sabo's movement and he dodge narrowly. He defend some attack that he can't dodge, but it make his damage increase. Finally Jon is on his limit, and he can't take another attack. He know it, but he want to attack too, he will fight until the end.
Sabo jump at Jon and he split his fingers into 3 parts like a Dragon's claw. Then he swing it from above toward Jon. Jon feel the attack come and clench his right fist. Jon put all of his last power in that right fist.
Jon send his fist to Sabo's claw, Sabo smile and meet his claw with Jon's fist. Sabo can avoid it, but he won't, he will fight Jon's last attack head on. Their attack collide, and to everyone surprise, it is Sabo that being pushed back.
"Is Sabo holding back?"-Hack
"No, the kid use armament."-Dragon smile and his eyes widen a little.
"WHAT!? ARMAMENT?"-All
"It's only a little and colourless, but it's really an Armament Haki."-Dragon
"It's not even a month since his training, but he has grasped 2 kind of Haki. Not everybody can do it even afyer a year."-Hack
"Awakening Haki and mastering it are very different. Some people are born with it, but they can't always master it faster than other who awaken it with training."-Dragon
"Even so, it's incredible to awaken it this fast."-Koala
"Yeah, there's no doubt about that. I haven't even taught the kid how to use Armament yet, and now he use it unconsciously."-Dragon
They look at Jon and Sabo's fight again, and see Jon still in his previous attacking position. Sabo is surprised, he smile and want to attack again. But he feel something is amiss with Jon. He stop in front of Jon and Jon didn't move at all, even his eyes are white.
"He faint, he really didn't fall until the end. Hahaha, what a strong dedication."-Sabo
Jon has spent all his energy and finally can't hold his injury. He faint after his last attack to Sabo while standing in attacking position. He got the 19th position in the battle royale.
