"Hah... As long as you understand..."
Ren sighed, shifting his gaze towards his feeble arm. It was all dried up and looked more like peeled asparagus than anything else.
It had been a few days since he'd woken up here, and with Madara currently sleeping, Ren was busy doing rehab with both Shiro and Swirly. The only thing on his mind was to get stronger so that he could escape.
"I have to admit that the first time I saw you, I was scared to death..." Eyeing both of the white creatures, Ren smiled wryly. "What about Madara? He went on and on about breaking the cycle of cause and effect or whatever, and then he goes to sleep forever!"
"Oh? Didn't you understand what Madara was talking about?" Smiling, Shiro spoke in an informative manner. "The idea is to chuck out all of the bad stuff in this world and run away to a dream world, where everything's perfect."
Laughing once more, swirly exaggeratedly extended his arms. "Since its a dream world, you can do whatever you like! Even bring dead people back to life! Hehehe!"
"What? That's just nonsense." Shaking his head in disappointment, Ren sighed and got up from his bed. "Anyways, you guys up for some rehab sparring?"
"You bet!"

Near the brothel in which Minamoto was currently resting.
The forest surrounding the area was currently undergoing tremendous destruction, as Kakuzu's masked creatures rampaged.
"Raiton: Gian!" Kakuzu performed a hand seal as his lightning mask opened its mouth, generating a bolt of blue lightning that sped towards Jun.
"Raijin no Fuku!" Slightly bending his knees, Jun performed a 'rat' hand-seal as spikes of purple electricity surrounded him, extending outwards.
As soon as the two sources of electricity collided, Jun's engulfed Kakuzu's, nullifying it completely.
When the electricity disappeared, two of the mask bodies fused before appearing in front of Jun, their mouths agape.
"Kimen no Bakuen!" Kakuzu's voice resounded as the two masks combined their fire and wind attacks to create a tremendous blast of intense flames, engulfing a good chunk of the forest.
"Is he dead?" As his masks came flying back behind him, Kakuzu tried to feel Jun's presence, only to come up with nothing. Furrowing his brows, he seemed unconvinced.
"Yari!" Jun suddenly phased out of the ground behind Kakuzu, piercing him with a full-speed lightning spear. Holding another one of his hearts, Jun crushed it and turned back around.
"Kuh...! How did you...!?" Kakuzu frowned and fell to his knees. Seeing this, Jun smiled.
"Why should I tell you?"
"Ngh... Grr..." As Kakuzu's life faded, his masks all merged back into his body, making his body contort in strange ways. Observing him with his Sharingan, Jun noted this peculiar scene.
'He has multiple hearts... If so, does every mask carry one, or perhaps multiple?' With his limited amount of information, Jun wasn't able to tell. 'If I want to kill him, I'll have to rip every single one of his hearts out. That's for sure.'
Jun watched as Kakuzu slowly got back up, twisting his wrists. The man narrowed his eyes as he spoke in an eerie voice.
"Two hearts... You're the first person to give me this much trouble since the gold and silver brothers..." Detaching his forearms and moving them around with his hair, Kakuzu let his killer intent shoot out. "I'm going to fight you seriously from now on, brat!"
