The Legend of the Kyubi

Cap 69: That was... Anticlimactic...

Cap 69: That was... Anticlimactic...

"It is time for us to begin the second fight," said Hayate as he looked at the Genin. "Sasuke Uchiha and Yoroi Akadon, please come to the center of the Combat Arena"

"I'd better get this over with quickly," said Sasuke as he shook his head. "I have to go to the dermatologist to have this annoying mosquito bite checked"

"It's time I showed you the power of Extras!" - exclaimed Yoroi but his expression quickly turned to rage when he heard his words - "Shit! I even called myself an Extra!"

"That's the first step, recognizing it," Sasuke said as he nodded.

"I'm going to enjoy breaking every one of your conceited bones..." - Yoroi muttered as his anger grew with every word the Uchiha said.

"Hmm~? Did you say something?" - Sasuke asked with a dull look.

"You bastard!" - Yoroi exclaimed as his chakra exploded fiercely - "Start this damn fight!"

"Ok..." - Hayate nodded as she stepped back a bit - "Second Combat, Sasuke of Konoha vs Yoroi of Konoha... Hajime!"

"Get ready, because..." - said Yoroi but was interrupted by Sasuke - "Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu!"

Sasuke's Jutsu hit Yoroi hard. Poor Genin never expected Sasuke to launch the attack so quickly, not when he was insulting and annoying him the entire time before the battle.

"Winner... Sasuke Uchiha..." - Hayate said as he checked to see if Yoroi was dead. Honestly, he never thought a Genin of this low level could get this far. Yoroi had not realized that Sasuke was annoying him on purpose so that he would have a better chance of finishing the battle quickly, a little cheap but it could not be said anything to him because deception was something every shinobi must practice.

"If you need me, I will be doing something of greater importance and interest," Sasuke said as he returned to the other Genin novices - "such as looking at the tiles or counting the steps that lead to the second floor.

"Wow... that was cruel..." - said Kurama as he burst out laughing.

"Rather anticlimactic" - said Ino as she shook her head. The other spectators also thought the same as the Yamanaka heiress.

"At least I could have given him a chance to... I don't know... breath?" - added Kurenai as she watched the Uchiha heir walk in their direction - "Is he counting the steps?!"

"Kurenai... remember that we are shinobis" - denied Kakashi - "We have to use whatever method is necessary to complete our missions, whether it is cheating, killing, sneaking or seducing"

". .." - Lee was only silent because he sincerely disliked this battle, not because it was short-lived or because he could not see the skills of his fated rival, but because there was no honor or emotion during that fight.

"I know what you are thinking, young Lee, but you have to understand that a battle will not always be like this," said Gai seriously. "There will be times when you will have to decide what to do, and those actions will be against your moral code; the very mission you were assigned may even be against your moral code, but you will have no choice but to follow it to the very end"

"We are shinobis, we are weapons, we are mercenaries, knives sold to the highest bidder," said Kakashi as he looked at the young man - "There is no right or wrong in our actions, only instructions that we must follow"

"And there too you are not counting the casualties of innocent civilians during our fighting," Yamato said seriously.

"At least I haven't had a burden of conscience about this," Kurenai said. As an expert on Genjutsu, she had not killed civilians in crossfire, although her opponents were a separate issue.

"Tch! As weak as that guy was, I'd find it more exciting to count the steps too," said Tsume with a scowl. "Five seconds of my life were wasted"

"Although you have to admit that it was smart to piss off your opponent to leave a clear opening in his defenses" - said Shikaku analytically - "Although that only works with low-ranking shinobis or short-wired people, if I had to say it without extending myself..."

"But that doesn't change that it was a boring battle!" - shouted Tsume - "Why wasn't it like the two Hyuga?!"

"Because the level between the two opponents was too unequal," Inoichi said seriously, "it's obvious just by noticing the reactions of the two participants. Sasuke kept a cool head while Yoroi was influenced by the constant insults from young Uchiha"

"I agree with the troublesome blond with a daughter complex," nodded Shikaku. "I'm surprised that this Genin went so far on this test"

"I guess they were lucky not to meet Orochimaru or any of the teams present," said Choza as he looked at the boy they were moving to the medical wing - "By the way... who is their Jonin sensei?"

"Now that you ask..." - Shikaku murmured seriously as he remembered the Jonin - "I think it's Yamamoto-san from the medical squad"

"I am just happy that my son passed the test," Mikoto smiled as he watched Sasuke walk toward the others.

"Though you have to admit it was anticlimactic," Kushina said with a joking smile on her face.

"Hey, Kushina!" - said Tsume as he approached the red-haired woman - "That orange-reddish haired boy is your son?"

"That's right... why?" - asked the matriarch Uzumaki with a scowl because she had noticed something strange about her old friend and teammate.

"Let's just say he'd better not come near me unless he wants me to leave his ass in the stratosphere," Tsume said with a sharp look.

"You better not say things like that, Tsume-chan~ because we don't know who will have her ass in space~" - smiled Kushina as she looked at her old friend.

Tsume's gaze grew wilder and wilder but she only snorted and returned to her original location.

"Was that necessary?" - Mikoto asked as she looked at her best friend.

"I honestly don't know," Kushina snorted. "But I was annoyed by Tsume's attitude"

"The third fight is about to begin!" - exclaimed Hayate from the center of the arena.

"I think we'd better save this for later" - said Kushina seriously as she watched the red-haired boy from Suna walk silently towards the center of the arena - "That boy..."

"An Uzumaki?" - Mikoto asked curiously.

"He may be an Uzumaki descendant" - answered Kushina, though she did not feel that resonance she felt when she was with Kurama or when she entered the tower - "Maybe his ancestors were Uzumaki... although I can't say for sure because I don't feel that 'attraction' that we members of our clan have..."

"So?" - asked matriarch Uchiha again.

"It is because, inside him, there is the Ichibi no Bakedanuki" - answered the beautiful red-haired woman.

"!" - Not only was Mikoto surprised, but so were the others in the scene.

"Are you sure about this?" - Shikaku asked in surprise as his expression changed to a cold one.

"It was the Jinchuriki of the Kyubi no Yoko before everything went to shit... Do you think I can't feel a Bijuu after having one sealed up inside me for so long? - Kushina asked with a frown - "But what makes it worse, is that the seal that holds the Bijuu is in such a bad state, that I can practically feel the presence of Shukaku in the boy... I guess the dark circles under the eyes are because the Bijuu can attack him when he sleeps"

"In other words... we have an unstable Jinchuriki who could practically release his Bijuu at any moment..." - sighed Shikaku as he looked at the boy in a cooler way - "This has risen to a troublesome cosmic level"

"This is something Hiruzen-sama needs to know," Inoichi said seriously as he disappeared from the site and headed for his Hokage.

"You... are you worthy of proving my existence?" - Gaara asked neutrally as he looked at his opponent.

"What are you talking about?" - Lee asked with a scowl.

". . ." - Gaara just kept silent as he closed his eyes.

"It is time for us to begin the Third Combat of this test!" - exclaimed Hayate as he looked at the two Genins, hoping that this battle would at least last longer than the last - "Sabaku no Gaara of Suna vs Rock Lee of Konoha! Hajime!"

"Let's see how long you can entertain me before I end your existence..." - Gaara muttered as, from his Gourd, a great amount of sand began to flow out and towards the boy from Konoha.

Lee hurriedly ran out against the boy from Suna as he dodged the constant sand attacks of his opponent.

"Annoying fly..." - Gaara said in his trademark monotone voice.

"Konoha Sempu!" - Lee jumped against Gaara when he was at a safe distance while doing a spinning kick.

"Child's play..." - mumbled Gaara as he automatically blocked Lee's attack with his sand but that didn't end there, he ordered his sand to catch the fly that had been bothering him but when he was about to do so, his prey had escaped. Lee jumped backward because he had felt the danger coming from his enemy's sand.

"What was that?!" - exclaimed the Taijutsu expert as he looked at the Suna boy - " I can feel my death when that sand was just a few inches from my body!"
