The Legend of the Kyubi

Cap 224: Cold Truth

Cap 224: Cold Truth

Two months had passed since Kurama had disappeared along with Tsunade and peace was still present, at least until today.

"It is time..." - said Pain with neutrality while Menma, Konan, and Tobi were behind him waiting.

"Today we will carry out our attack with everything we have..." - said Pain coolly. He had needed two months to recover his two bodies and was ready to begin his 'invasion' - "Let's go"

"Ok" - nodded those present as they disappeared from their base and reappeared on a mountain outside Kumo.

"Hmm... I want to see how things will end with so much chaos and destruction..." - said Menma neutrally.

"Hmm... I like you, boy," responded Obito as he burst out laughing.

"Konan... you'll stay out of it and tell us if reinforcements are coming," said Pain with neutrality.

"As you command," answered Konan as she vanished.

"Hmm... will you leave the hard work to us while your little friend stays out of the action?" - asked Menma coolly.

"She's weak and will only get in our way," responded Pain as he watched his recruit carefully. " Now, I'm asking you not to try to test my limits... you just have to follow the orders I'll give you... Is that clear?"

"Of course," answered Menma as he looked down, hiding his cold blue eyes.

"Tobi... is everything ready?" - asked Pain as he glanced at the masked man.

"I can answer that myself" - said Zetsu as he appeared from the ground - "Everything is ready, leader... our little army is ready to start... we even managed to get a lot more material to expand our forces..."

Pain said nothing when he heard.

"Do you regret accepting my plan, leader?" - asked Zetsu as he tilted his plant-like head.

"No... sacrifices are necessary to bring true peace to this world... they should feel proud knowing that everything is for the good of others" - responded Pain with neutrality.

"As you would expect from our leader..." - said Zetsu as he burst out laughing - "My friends will attack your command, leader"

"Do it... we should get this over with quickly" - answered Pain while looking at Kumo - "Attack with everything you have... it's time that we show the Villages what True Pain is"

"Hai!" - exclaimed the three men as they disappeared.

"Soon the world will understand that only pain will bring true peace... and not even you can stop me, Uzumaki Kurama..." - murmured Pain as he looked in the direction of Kumo's entrance - "Let the massacre begin"

"What the fuck is that?!" - exclaimed one of the gatekeepers guarding Kumo's entrance as he noticed a white wave approaching at high speed.

"I don't know but we have to talk to A-sama about this!" - exclaimed the other guard as he summoned a small condor and sent it off to inform the Raikage of the situation - "Sound the alarm! We'd better prepare for the worst!"

"As you say" - said the first guard as he followed his partner's instructions.

After a few seconds, the sound of a loud alarm resounded throughout Kumo, causing great panic among the population.

"I hope this is not a joke..." - said a muscular man with dark skin - "Because if not, then the punishment will be severe"

"I don't think your shinobis want to cause you any trouble, A-sama," said your new secretary as she looked at her leader.

"It is better to be safe than sorry..." - A nodded as he looked at the woman - "I want you to tell all my forces about the situation so that they can prepare for the attack... I will send a message to Konoha to come as support..."

"As you command, A-sama" - said the secretary as she left.

"I just hope it's just a false alarm," muttered A as he squinted. "If this is Akatsuki's attack, then things will be dangerous from now on"

"Hmm... their reaction time was faster than I thought..." - murmured Black Zetsu as he shook his head - "But that doesn't change the situation at all... we just have to continue with the plan..."

"I see that you are happy, my other half" - said White Zetsu as he looked at the dark being.

"It's your imagination" - answered Black Zetsu - "Although I have to admit that your plan to move one of the roots of the Old Shinju was brilliant... now we can create White Zetsus fast..."

"I only gave you a logical answer" - said White Zetsu while he saw how the root of Shinju was processing all the corpses they had killed - "Although it is a pity that these White Zetsu are so weak because their bases are only humans civilians..."

"If they manage to kill Kumo's shinobis, it will solve our little problem" - answered Black Zetsu while he watched towards Kumo's entrance and noticed how a big group of shinobis were ready to start - "Hmm... I guess the operation is about to begin... let's see what kind of resistance the humans will be able to give before the sons of Shinju..."

It had been four hours since the White Zetsu had clashed with Kumo's forces.

B had entered the battlefield after fifteen minutes and had begun to wreak havoc on the enemy forces but to his discomfort, they seemed to be endless they seemed to be getting stronger.

Konoha had sent their help almost immediately after receiving news of the attack on Kumo, all because Kushina had learned to use the Hiraishin, causing the course of the battle to be in Kumo's favor, although this did not last long either because Akatsuki began to make an appearance.

Menma was attacking Kumo's east side along with a huge leech.

Tobi was wreaking havoc in the west alongside an army of white Zetsus while Pain was in the center, holding B.

Jiraiya and Sasuke went to support B along with the Raikage and a large group of shinobis from both villages.

Kakashi and his Anbu had gone in the direction of the Masked One to put an end to the man responsible for the damage caused more than 15 years ago, while Neji, Kiba, Tenten, Haku, Choji, Shino, and Shikamaru, along with a large group of shinobis were fighting Menma.

"How much more so that Kushina can bring our allies from Suna and Kiri?!" - exclaimed Shikaku as he looked at his friend and colleague Inoichi.

"According to the communication seal she gave us, it will take him a few minutes to arrive with Suna's troops..." - replied Inoichi as he sighed in relief remembering that his princess was not in this hell - "After that, she would go to Kiri to seek support..."

"I understand... although I would like her to hurry..." - Shikaku murmured as he squinted - "I have noticed a detail that many would have overlooked with this bloody battle..."

"What are you talking about, Shikaku?" - asked Choza with a scowl.

"That the bodies of our allies seem to disappear into thin air," answered Shikaku as he felt a chill run down his back as he thought about the possible reason for such a strange situation.

"Ok" - Inoichi nodded as he left the room, only to return after a few minutes with a boy with black hair and pale skin - "Did you call me, Shikaku-sama?

"That's right..." - replied Shikaku as he put aside the greetings - "I want you to draw a bird and check the surrounding villages, Sai"

"As I ordered, Shikaku-sama" - answered the boy called Sai while he took the big parchment he had on his back next to a brush and started drawing, just so that after a few seconds, he concentrated a bit of chakra and the bird he had drawn came to life - "Go"

The ink bird nodded as it flew out the open window.

"Let's just hope things aren't as bad as I think..." - said Shikaku seriously as he looked around.

"You still don't explain to us what is happening, or at least what you think is happening, Shikaku" - said Choza with a scowl.

"What I think, Kami-sama wants it not to be possible, is that those white things are made from the bodies of those who have died..." - replied Shikaku with a hideous expression on his face - "If so, then all the villages surrounding Kumo, must be destroyed and their inhabitants gone..."

". . ." - the expression of Choza, Inoichi, and the others present, could not be colder when they heard this because if what the most intelligent man in Konoha said was true, then the situation was worse than they thought at first.

* * *

After 15 minutes, the ink bird returned and Sai placed a serious expression on his face.

"Well?" - Shikaku asked seriously.

"You are right, Shikaku-sama..." - Sai answered coldly - "All the surrounding villages are destroyed and there is no corpse in the place..."

". . ." - A deep silence invaded the room while Shikaku was thinking of some kind of countermeasure to solve the situation before it got out of control because he understood that things would get worse with every day that passed. After all, they would lose strength and Akatsuki would get more and more troops.
