The Legend of the Kyubi

Cap 235: You Think More Like a Politician

Cap 235: You Think More Like a Politician

A week had passed since Kurama had informed the girls about the general situation of Tsunade and at this moment they were gathered in the room with cold expressions on their faces because they had received a message they could not believe.

"This has to be a joke, a trap perhaps" - said Shizune seriously while the others said nothing - "It is impossible that Orochimaru has died..."

"I... don't know what to believe..." - said Anko as she frowned at the words of the black-haired woman - "If I'm honest, I feel it's true..."

"Why do you say that Anko-chan?" - Kushina asked seriously.

"Because even though you extracted that bastard's soul from the mark on my neck, I could still feel his disgusting presence," answered Anko neutrally as she rubbed the mark on her neck with her hand.

A deep silence invaded the room while the girls looked at each other without knowing how to react.

"If this news is true... then we must know who was responsible for such act..." - said Mikoto seriously.

"Akatsuki," replied a male voice as he entered the room, this being Jiraiya, "I went to check the veracity of the information and discovered that the attack that destroyed Oto was the same one that Nagato used against us in Kumo"

". . ." - the silence grew much deeper when they heard the words of the Sannin because it was obvious that if Akatsuki was in the middle of it all, then things were not as simple as they thought.

"You never thought things would end this way, did you, Orochimaru?" - asked Menma as he stared cold-heartedly at the Sannin of the Snakes.

Orochimaru only looked at him with eyes full of fury - "I knew something like this would happen ... more when I used that whore as a test subject.

"If you knew... why did you do it?" - Menma asked neutrally.

"Because I know you, Menma-kun... I knew very well that you were not faithful to me... that's why I have countermeasures for your betrayal," replied Orochimaru while making hand seals, only to be surprised that nothing happened - "Impossible! I put a neurotoxin inside you when I operated to gain broader acceptance of the Reibi!"

"I can answer that myself" - said Obito as he appeared behind Orochimaru.

"!" - Orochimaru quickly retreated, only to feel his body become paralyzed - "What's happening to me?!"

"Good thing I gave the scroll to Zetsu before I used it," said Menma with a cold smile on his face - "If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have been able to use it against you.

". . ." - Orochimaru was silent as he felt his heart racing - "What seal?!"

"One that blocks all kinds of movement inside your body, from the circulation of chakra or blood, like any other body movement," replied Menma as he walked up to Orochimaru and took something out of his pocket - "You know, I've always wanted to test your poisons on you"

". . ." - Orochimaru was silent as he was injected by a syringe, only to start screaming in pain.

"It's great that the seal doesn't affect your vocal faculties, I guess Kurama wanted to enjoy hearing your screams..." - snorted Menma as he watched the Sannin squirm.

"Do you know where Hashirama's sample is?" - asked Obito neutrally.

"Yes I do," answered Menma, "Go to the laboratory that is 5 doors away on shelf number 7 because he didn't want anyone to discover Hashirama's cells"

"Okay, I'll be back in a moment" - answered Obito as he disappeared, only to return after a few seconds laughing madly - "This power! I finally understand how Madara felt!"

Orochimaru slowly looked up and noticed how the Uchiha was now not wearing a mask but what surprised him most, was that he not only had a Sharingan but also had something he had only seen from afar - "R-Rinnegan... Obito... Uchiha...."

"Oh?" - Obito looked with surprise at the fallen Sannin as he slowly approached - "Do you know me?

". . ." - Orochimaru only responded with silence as he felt his body breaking into hundreds of pieces.

"It doesn't matter... now that we have what we came for, it's no longer necessary to linger with you," said Obito with neutrality as he and Menma walked away from the site.

"Can you use that?" - asked Menma as he looked at his colleague.

"Of course I can, when I acquired the Rinnegan, I instinctively learned all the techniques I could use at that moment" - answered Obito while extending his right hand - "Chibaku Tensei..."

A small black sphere slowly began to move in the direction where the immobilized Sannin was, only for him to start feeling how the force of gravity was getting stronger - "!

"See you in hell, Orochimaru..." - said Menma with neutrality as he felt everything around him begin to move in the direction of the black sphere - "What are the chances of his survival?"

"Almost nil," responded Obito with disdain as he threw a small sphere with many red marks in the direction of the core of his technique - "And now they are nil"

"What was that?" - Menma asked curiously.

"An explosive sphere," answered Obito as he shrugged his shoulders, "It is formed by many explosive seals powered by a Fuinjutsu Uzumaki"

"I see..." - nodded Menma - "When will it explode?"

"When the pressure is high enough," responded Obito calmly.

"By the way... Can you use your Kamui to get us out of here?" - asked Menma as he felt that perhaps they wouldn't have enough time to escape.

"Just one more trip..." - Obito replied with a scowl - "Now that I have the Rinnegan, the pressure in my right eye is not so bad, although it's still on the limit"

"Then let's go... you can rest your eye as long as you want when we get back to base," said Menma as he looked at his partner.

"You're all ungrateful bastards," snorted Obito as the two of them disappeared into a dimensional distortion.

"No!" - roared Orochimaru as he tried to move his chakra even just a little - "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

*BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!*

* * * * *

"I still can't believe it..." - murmured Kakashi, who had his left eye closed - "Oto has disappeared from the earth along with everything within a kilometer radius..."

"At least that explains the great earthquake that hit Konoha" - replied Hiruzen while caressing his scar - "He wanted to destroy Konoha but in the end, it was Oto who ended up being destroyed... I don't know whether to feel happy about the irony or sigh with regret for the end of one of my students even though he was a traitor..."

"We shouldn't think about Orochimaru anymore" - said Kakashi while he shook his head - "His death is almost assured, so we better concentrate on the two important issues we have left

"One is Akatsuki... - replied Hiruzen as he stroked his little beard - "But what is the second?"

"It is the reconstruction of Uzu" - answered Kakashi seriously - "According to a clone that Kurama sent me, Uzu is ready to start with the second phase of reconstruction..."

"I see..." - Hiruzen murmured as he nodded - "What do you have planned?

"First, to do my part and send all the manual support we agreed on," responded Kakashi seriously. "After that, I'm not so sure what to do.

"Anything else I need to know?" - asked Hiruzen as he looked at his successor.

"Let's see... he also said that Kushina-sama had sent a clone to Nami no Kuni to negotiate with its inhabitants to travel to Uzu as well" - answered Kakashi while caressing his chin - "And from what my shinobis there told me, they gladly accepted..."

"Strange... if I were them, I wouldn't try to leave the place I've lived so long" - answered Hiruzen with surprise.

"I guess this is because one, the number of fish resources have decreased, as well as the amount of income in the country, and two, the gratitude they feel for the Uzumaki clan that had been supporting them financially" - said Kakashi while looking through the documents that were on his desk - "Let's see... Where did I leave it?"

"Why didn't I know about this important information?!" - exclaimed Hiruzen in surprise.

"Because one, you are no longer the Hokage, and two, because I forgot," replied Kakashi.

"I'm sure the real reason is the second one," said Hiruzen as he rolled his eyes at his successor. "Anyway, now I understand the reason and I honestly don't feel that they are wrong

"Let's be honest, Hiruzen-sama" - said Kakashi while looking at the old Hokage - "Nami no Kuni is not productive for Konoha and we both know it, that's why even though I'm sending financial aid because it's our main road to the sea, I didn't spend much money".

"It's ironic how a location that's supposed to be important is so unnecessary," Hiruzen responded as he sighed regretfully, "I guess the time wasn't right for Nami no Kuni...

"I think the same thing" - Kakashi nodded as he continued - "But Uzu no Kuni is a separate issue... that country is surrounded by sea, so its maritime resources are exponentially superior, they also have a lot of unexplored territories, making their natural resources potentially superior to ours..."

"You are thinking more and more like a politician," Hiruzen said as he gave a smile to his successor.
