The Legend of the Kyubi

Nagato could not believe what he had heard, all the problems, all the pain he had suffered, had been the responsibility of the 'person' in front of him. Something he felt he had forgotten was being born again within him, Anger, an anger so great that it seemed to have no limits - "I'm going to kill you!"     

Nagato released his entire chakra in one fell swoop as he extended his hands, only to expel countless black metal bars from his body.     

"I think someone didn't like my parting gift..." - said Black Zetsu with sarcasm.     

"I may not have long to live, but that doesn't mean I can't take you with me to hell!" - roared Nagato as his eyes glowed fiercely - "All our comrades are waiting for you, Zetsu!"     

"I am sorry, but I will not die, not when my plans are about to be realized," replied Black Zetsu as he shrugged. He quickly disappeared into the earth, easily escaping the attack of the red-haired man.     

"ARGH!" - Nagato was not being himself, he was in a state of complete rage as he attacked all around him without caring about the consequences. The truth about Yahiko's death had always haunted him, and now that he knew everything about the situation, his rage could not be contained - "Come out from wherever you are! I want to destroy your limbs! I want to destroy your whole body! Furthermore, I want to make you go through pain worse than death!"     

Zetsu watched with amusement as a few words had turned Nagato's neutral attitude into one of unbridled rage. He could only shake his head at the drastic changes that humans were undergoing from one moment to the next - "No matter how cold you think you were, there is always a switch that can make your personality turn 180 degrees, but well, I feel that this is more than enough to help Obito, unless the jerk is now playing with Pain's body without knowing that the Kyubi no Kitsune is in the zone".

Obito was breathing heavily while looking coldly at his opponent. The experience in the control of Doujutsu was too much noticed during his battle with Pain, he was at a clear disadvantage that seemed to have no way to shorten, at least that was the case until he noticed how Pain's movements were more and more strange.     

With one quick move, he appeared and reappeared in front of Pain, only to use his best technique to shatter his body - "Kamui!     

"!" - Pain quickly reacted when he felt his body being shattered, only for the gleam to leave his eyes.     

"I don't know what happened, but I am grateful that someone distracted Nagato" - said Obito neutrally as he recovered his breath, only to disappear from the scene with his Kamui.     

"Tch, these bastards are slippery, just when I go to try to attack them, they disappear" - murmured Kurama with a scowl. He was dragging a burnt-out Menma who was barely breathing with his whole body incinerated - "Don't you think so?"     

". . ." - Menma did not respond, although it was not known if it was because he didn't want to talk or because he couldn't because of all the pain he was feeling.     

Kurama decided to throw him to the ground and concentrate on Pain's broken body, only to notice how it turned to dust and disappeared as if it had never been there - ". . ."     

He slowly closed his eyes for a few seconds before disappearing from the scene, not noticing how white hands were dragging Menma's body to the bottom of the earth.

"How much longer can you resist this, Nagato?" - asked Black Zetsu as he noticed how the vitality of the Uzumaki was diminishing - "Thirty minutes?"     

"Just long enough to wipe you out, Zetsu," answered Nagato with difficulty, only to feel a sharp headache - ". . ."     

"I suppose that idiot Obito managed to kill your last Path of Pain," said Zetsu with a smile as he watched a dimensional gap appear beside him. Obito slowly walked away from the dimensional distortion while giving Nagato an annoying look - "It's time we finished this".     

"I see that if it wasn't for me, you would be already dead, Obito" - said Zetsu while he was laughing - "But well, we better leave that for another time, I want you to use that"     

Obito frowned because he didn't understand why he wanted to use the secret weapon they had reserved for the Kyubi no Kitsune, just to open his eyes in realization - "Ok, I'll do it right away".     

Obito quickly made some hand seals, just to create a barrier around him.     

"It's good that you did, because if you took a few more seconds we would have had a lot of trouble" - said Zetsu seriously, only for the three men to hear the sound of a strong impact on the barrier - "OK, we have about 5 minutes to finish this because the Kyubi no Kitsune became much stronger than we had estimated"     

". . ." - Obito frowned when he heard this because it was obvious that the stronger the redhead was, the worse his general situation was.     

*Bang!*     

"I'm sorry, Nagato," said Zetsu with a false guilty voice, "I would have liked to keep playing with you, but we're running out of time"     

". . ." - Nagato did not respond, he just narrowed his eyes as he released the little chakra he had left - "I may die... but I won't do it without a fight..."     

The room began to tremble as Nagato's chakra seemed to come to life - "My life is about to end, but at least I will make you suffer the consequences of having played with our lives"     

"I promise I will tell Konan your last words" - said Zetsu sarcastically as he invoked a huge number of vines from the ground.     

Obito was on his guard as he activated his Doujutsu.     

"Come, I promise I will make you feel what is the true PAIN!" - roared Nagato fiercely as he activated all the fighting skills of his Rinnegan.

Kurama frowned when he noticed the barrier that seemed to be specifically designed to stop him because no matter how much he attacked, he only made a few small cracks - "Ok, this is annoying..."     

Kurama quickly concentrated most of his chakra on his fist, only to frown even more when he saw the barrier continue with only a few cracks.     

"I don't know how they did this, although I can deduce that it has to do with my abnormal chakra frequency," Kurama muttered as he frowned.     

Kurama began to think about the situation, only to notice how the barrier seemed to be becoming more and more illusory, noting that it had a short lifespan.     

When he saw the barrier disappear, he calmly walked in the direction where he felt the few signs of life. Kurama slowly walked into the room, only to notice how Nagato was barely breathing with his eyes bleeding.     

"Uzumaki... Kurama..." - Nagato muttered as he felt the familiar chakra.     

"Uzumaki Nagato... is not the best time to meet for the first time..." - replied Kurama as he walked beside the haggard redhead - "Tell me... Did you find what you were looking for?"     

". . ." - Nagato took a breath, only to feel himself vomit blood because his lungs were perforated - "No. . ."     

"All... my life... I sought peace..." - said Nagato as he opened his mouth, only to vomit blood again - "Yahiko... my best friend, was always a guide to my actions... but... when he was killed... my whole world changed..."     

Kurama only shook his head as he watched as the redheaded man who was once his enemy began to rant about the past.     

"I'm sorry I said so many meaningless things to you..." - Nagato muttered as he sighed with regret - "Although there is something I want to tell you..."     

"What?" - asked Kurama as he used some of his chakra to stabilize him so that he could at least give his last words. He was aware that there was no way he could save him, not because of his near zero chakra levels, but because of the malfunctioning of his entire body, as well as his low vitality.     

"I want... you to take care of Konan... she is the only person I have left in this life..." - said Nagato as he opened his eyes, only for Kurama to notice his empty sockets - "And... I want... I want you to bring peace... true peace... I know you can do it... after all... you have already allied yourself with the 5 Great Villages..."     

Kurama was about to say something, only to let out a sigh when he noticed how Nagato's life had disappeared.     

"I guess I'll have to do it..." - murmured Kurama as he shook his head - "That is the last wish of a misguided member of my clan..."     

Kurama slowly used a hand seal so that he could keep Nagato's body in his seal, and then disappeared from the scene with a serious expression on his face.     

Akatsuki had disappeared from the world with Nagato's death, now only Obito and Zetsu remained with their plans that were capable of bringing destruction to the world.     

"I'd better go home... Konan has to know about this..." - murmured Kurama before disappearing from the place, without noticing how a white silhouette came out of the ground - "Recovery completed, I have the body of Namikaze Menma..."
