The Legend of the Kyubi

Extra 16: Gate (27)

Extra 16: Gate (27)

Yoji was in what he would say was the worst business meeting ever.

In front of him was not only the most important god of this world, but also the other gods, or at least the priests they were using as vessels, so they could talk to them.

Piña Co Lada was in a corner, sweating because it was obvious that the gods were not happy with her actions while her escorts looked at each other with concern, after all, it would not be a good situation for them if the news that the princess of the empire had upset the gods, spread throughout the continent, in fact, this would only make the kingdoms surrounding the empire, unite to destroy it once and for all.

The soldiers of the Japanese self-defense force, were tense because the mere presence of the white-haired man was terrifying, but the other gods were an addition that made them feel that they were facing something they could not stop.

"Again, I welcome you, although I didn't expect to have to receive you so soon" - Kurama said as he discreetly looked at Pineapple, who at least had the decency to lower her gaze to hide the embarrassment.

"Please don't blame Piña-dono, she's not to blame, it was us who forced her" - replied Yoji while looking at the princess, who could only look at him with wide eyes.

"Loyalty, a quality that not many possess, more so when facing possible death" - said Kurama as the gods nodded slightly - "But you don't have to lie to us, we can feel when you do it."

"Not to mention that we watched it all unfold" - Hardy replied with disdain as she let out a small laugh.

"Leaving that aside, I'd like to know what you desire in our city, and as a recommendation, I tell you that you better not lie to us" - Kurama said while narrowing his eyes.

The soldiers looked at their leader, who seemed to be thinking his words carefully.

Piña was sitting silently, watching with concern what was going to happen, and at the same time thinking about how to improve their situation with the gods so that they would not take out their anger against the empire.

"First, we want to negotiate with you a peaceful non-intervention agreement" - Yoji Itami said while taking a breath - "In this pact, we will give you enough technology to improve [Samsara] and we will give you the opportunity to expand your religious influence to our world, as for what you have to do, is to give us your protection and make sure that you will not hurt any person from our world"

"Hmm, that's an interesting proposal" - Emroy murmured as the others nodded - "But it's a bit strange that you're trying to give us religious autonomy in your world, more so when it's not possible for us to interact with it"

Yoji Itami was silent as he watched the gods argue amongst themselves, only to notice how Kurama was thinking with his eyes closed - "Kurama-sama?"

Kurama slowly opened and eyes, surprising Yoji because these were now even more different. One of them was now completely red, with rings around the pupil, but what made Yoji shiver, was that it felt like he was an open book in front of the white-haired man.

"Itami Yoji, member of Japan's self-defense forces, your military life is interesting, although your love life is a bit pale in comparison, I guess one makes up for the other" - Kurama said while looking at the soldier squad leader in green - "It's quite interesting that you're still supporting your ex-wife."

Yoji was silent as he felt his soul freeze at the white haired man's words.

Kurama stopped looking at Yoji and focused on the others, only for them to feel something similar to their leader.

"Hmm, an interesting group of mortals" - Kurama muttered as he shook his head - "That aside, I can't see any ill intent in you, though I can't say the same for the forces you work for."

"Japan doesn't want to fight you when we can work in harmony for a better future" - Yoji Itami said as he looked at the white haired god.

"I could see that, but the other countries of your world are not exactly peaceful, not to mention that the interaction between you, the Japanese and us, the people of the "special area", would cause much more frequent military friction because you would be monopolizing this unexplored territory" - replied Kurama with disdain - "Do you not think that history will repeat itself?"

Yoji was silent before letting out a sigh because there was no way to ensure that this won't happen.

"Long story short, your intentions are good, but trying to fool us, thinking that we will gain peace if we help you, is just treating us like fools" - Kurama said as he narrowed his eyes.

The gods narrowed their eyes when they heard this because they didn't like to be fooled.

"Although if I'm honest, I don't think it's a bad idea to accept your proposal" - Kurama said with a smile.

"Darling?" - Hardy asked with surprise because she wasn't expecting this reaction - "Shouldn't we be furious that they tried to cheat on us?"

"Oh, we should, but at the same time this is a good situation for us" - replied Kurama calmly while narrowing his eyes - "After all, we are conditioning Japan to give us good terms, or we will end up joining a different kingdom, which will possibly be hostile against them because of the monopoly they have."

Yoji Itami was silent as Kurama's words echoed in his head.

The man in front of him was kind, but that didn't mean he was stupid, no, in fact, it was quite the opposite, Kurama was smart and knew how to take advantage of the situation to make things move in his favor.

"Interesting" - murmured Deldort as he let out a laugh - "As could be expected from Kurama-dono, your intellect is impressive."

Elange and Ral smiled when they saw this as the others looked at their leader with interest.

"We accept your proposal, though this will be applicable when your leader comes in front of us, so we can talk things over properly" - Kurama said calmly as he looked at Yoji - "That aside, I wish you a peaceful stay in [Samsara]"

Yoji stood up and apologized before ordering his troops to follow him, but not before looking at Piña, who seemed to be a little puppy being punished for what she did.

"Let's go, captain" - said Shino as she put her hand on her leader's shoulder.

"Ok" - nodded Yoji Itami as he retreated.

"Alright, now I guess we need to talk" - said Kurama as he looked at Piña with an expressionless face - "Anything to say?"

"No" - replied Piña as she bowed her head.

"You didn't think through your actions, or rather, their consequences" - Duncan said as he looked at the girl with a frown - "Everything related to the gods, it's hard to handle, that's why mortals should think well before deciding what to do."

"I know, that's why I apologize" - muttered Piña as she kept her head down - "I'm sorry."

"An apology solves nothing, mortal" - growled Palapon as he looked at the girl with hostility - "If it did, I would have no need to exist."

"True, an apology is nice and all, but I don't think it's any good when we're not on your same level" - nodded Zufmuut as he narrowed his eyes - "That means it's time we gave you a punishment"

Piña was silent as she bit her lip.

"Wait, she didn't do it because she wanted to betray you, she only did it because she wanted to stabilize the empire and find her brother!" - Bozes exclaimed as she looked at the gods - "Please, I ask you to give us a second chance!"

The gods looked at the mortals with different kinds of emotions.

"Ok, I'll take care of all this" - said Kurama as he looked around - "You don't have a problem with this, do you?"

"No, this is your city, and we are just your guests" - replied Emroy while shrugging his shoulders.

"Thanks for the understanding" - Kurama smiled slightly as he watched all the gods silently withdraw.

As they left, Kurama watched Piña carefully - "Good, now let's talk about the problems you caused."

"Trouble?" - Pineapple asked in puzzlement.

"Yes, your actions proved that you are not with [Samsara], and the other gods already know that you will do something like that again" - said Kurama as he narrowed his eyes - "That is why to prevent them from hurting you, I find it painfully necessary to banish you from [Samsara]"

"!" - Piña opened her eyes, shocked and terrified by the white-haired man's words as she felt everything around her shatter into pieces because Kurama's words were serious, very serious.

"As for this banishment, I regret to tell you that it also applies to your escorts" - Kurama continued calmly, ignoring the expression of the knights.

"Sorry" - muttered Piña while biting her lip.

Kurama turned around and walked out of the room, noticing how Tyuule was waiting for him outside - "Let's go."

"Ok" - nodded Tyuule as the two retreated in silence.
