The Legend of the Kyubi

Extra 17: To Love Ruto (16)

Extra 17: To Love Ruto (16)

"Are they models, or celebrities?" - asked a man as he watched as Run and Kurama were walking around the outskirts of the commercial sector of the city.

"No idea" - replied a girl with jealousy because Run was beautiful, and her emerald green hair gave her a very different style from a normal girl. As for Kurama, he was handsome, and his white, almost silver hair seemed to be made of silk.

"This place is interesting" - Run said as she smiled as she saw all the fun things that were in the city.

Kurama smiled slightly because he had to admit it was fun to see how the girl was opening up to him.

"Yeah, this planet has a lot of things that in my world don't exist" - Kurama replied as he watched the girl eat a few sweets - "How was it?"

"Delicious ~" - replied Run happily, only to feel her heart again skip a beat - ". . ."

"Is something wrong?" - Kurama asked as he looked at the girl.

"Huh? No, it's nothing" - Run replied as she averted her gaze.

Kurama frowned before shaking his head - "I guess we can go to the arcade now."

"Arcade?" - Run asked curiously.

"Oh, it's a place where young people go to meet and play video games with other people" - Kurama replied as he remembered the description Naruto had given him - "Honestly, I'm not sure what it is because I haven't been there."

"I guess we can go together" - smiled Run as she nodded - "Let's go ~!"

Kurama nodded calmly, though he quickly glanced back because he could feel his son watching him, though he quickly dismissed that idea because he should be in class right now.

The duo quickly left the site and headed to their new destination, completely ignoring how four people were watching them from a distance.

"Is this really a good idea?" - Rito asked as he looked at Naruto, Lala and his girlfriend, who had left the school to spy on Kurama and Lala's friend.

"If Kurama sensei finds us out, we'll be in trouble" - muttered Haruna as she looked at Naruto.

"Relax, if Tousan had discovered us, he would have caught us already" - Naruto answered honestly, after all, he knew that he couldn't hide from his father's sharp senses - "If my guess is right, he has to be ignoring us because he thinks I'm still in class."

"By the way, why does your father look so young?" - Haruna asked as she raised an eyebrow because even though this looked like a date, Kurama didn't look like a person who would enter into a relationship with such a young girl.

"Oh, he has to be using his ability to transform, so there's no misunderstanding" Naruto replied as he cocked his head to the side.

"Makes sense, I mean, it would be a bit strange for an adult like Kurama-san, to be accompanying someone like Run" - Rito replied while nodding, though it was still a bit strange of the situation in general - "But that doesn't change the fact that this seemed to be a date."

"Hmm, Run-chan is Ren's sister" - Lala said while looking at her companions.

"Really?" - exclaimed the two humans as they looked at the pretty girl accompanying their teacher.

"Yes, Memorizians are a race where two siblings share the same body up to a certain age" - replied Lala as she explained a bit about the unique biology of her friend's race.

"Oh" - Rito and Haruna nodded, though if they were honest, they were confused about the biology of the alien species.

"As for this date, I would think my father has to be leading Run-san around the city" - Naruto replied as he shook his head - "Though that would explain why Ren hasn't shown up."

Lala just sighed with regret because she knew she was the culprit.

After doing some research on the culture of her childhood friend, she discovered that when she promised something to a Memorizian, this promise was applicable to both siblings

"Relax, you didn't know about that, and I'm sure Ren will understand" - Naruto replied as he put his hand on his fiancée's shoulder.

"Thank you, Naruto" - smiled Lala as she hugged the boy she liked with all her strength.

"So, shall we follow them?" - asked Rito as he looked at his friend.

"Of course" - nodded Naruto as a huge smile appeared on his lips because no way would he go back to class now that he was free.

* * * * *

Kurama's eyebrow was twitching because no matter how much he wanted to trust his son, this was already ridiculous. He could feel how his son and his friends had been following them constantly.

"Is something wrong, Kurama-san?" - Run asked with concern as she noticed how her companion seemed not to be enjoying her company.

"Oh, sorry, I was thinking about something that bothered me" - Kurama replied with a smile - "It has nothing to do with you, although I'd like you to give me a second."

"Okay?" - Run smiled weakly as she nodded, though inside she was a little conflicted. She knew he wasn't lying, but it pained her to see the white-haired man's neutral face as he accompanied her.

Kurama let out a sigh before creating a clone and sending it to where his son was.

"What was that?" - Run asked in surprise.

"Oh, that's one of my abilities, it allows me to produce a physical copy using my energy as a catalyst. This clone possesses all my abilities and thoughts, so you could say it's an exact copy of me, and although this ability is strong, it has its cons" - replied Kurama honestly as he watched his clone bring his son and his friends - "Ok, I'm not even going to ask why you have been following us, I just want to know why you are not in class."

Rito and Haruna bowed their heads in embarrassment as they had no excuse for this inquisitiveness.

Naruto let out an awkward laugh as Lala walked over to Run and lowered her head.

"Sorry, Run-chan, Ren!" - Lala exclaimed as she raised her head slightly to look the green-haired girl straight in the eyes - "I'm sorry I didn't realize that my promise could cause you so much trouble!"

Run was surprised when she heard this as she felt how her brother seemed to react to these words - "Lala?"

"Wait, let me finish, please" - Lala said as she sighed regretfully - "I want to be honest with Ren because he has done too much over the years, and he deserves to be given a befitting answer."

Run was silent as she felt how her brother seemed to be waiting.

"I'm sorry, Ren, but I can't be with you, not because you're not someone cool, or because you're not man enough, but because I love someone else" - Lala said regretfully - "I know we've known each other since we were kids, but I've never seen you the way you see me."

Run felt her breathing stop for a few seconds as the pink-haired girl continued to reveal all that was inside her.

"My promise was not with the intention of getting married, it was with the intention of us remaining friends even as adults" - Lala said with a faint smile - "I wanted to continue to enjoy our friendship, but I guess that won't be possible"

"Lala, I..." - Run said, only to widen her eyes as she heard her brother say to switch - ". . ."

"Run-chan?" - Lala asked in surprise, only to hear the girl sneeze.

A small curtain of smoke surrounded the girl's body, and when it dissipated, they all saw how a boy with white with black hair, had taken her place.

Rito and Haruna were silent, not because of surprise but because they didn't know how to react to a handsome boy wearing women's clothes.

"This is still annoying, but I can put up with it for now" - said Ren while looking at Lala with a serene expression.

"Ren" - said Lala regretfully - "I..."

"No, don't say anything else, Lala-chan" - said Ren as he shook his head, though his expression changed when he saw the pain in his friend's gaze - "Wait, I didn't mean it that way! It's not like I don't want to talk to you!"

"Huh? You're not angry with me?" - Lala asked with surprise.

"No, actually, I'd like to apologize to you" - replied Ren while sighing regretfully - "I want to apologize for being a jerk!"

Those present were silent at the boy's confession.

"I knew you didn't mean marriage when you made us that promise, it's just that I've always loved you" - answered Ren while looking at the pink-haired girl - "It was me who created the illusion of this promise, thinking that in the future I could make you see me, like I saw you"

Ren looked at Lala, then looked at Naruto - "Though it's obvious that won't be possible."

Naruto gently held the hand of Lala as he nodded in the boy's direction.

Ren nodded in response as he looked at Lala again - "That's why I want to apologize, my selfishness caused you so much pain."

The white haired boy slowly looked at Kurama with a smile - "Thank you for taking care of me and my sister."

"You don't have to thank me" - Kurama said calmly.

Ren nodded before turning around and preparing to leave, only to be stopped by Kurama - "Yes?"

"I don't think you want to go out dressed like that" - Kurama said while raising an eyebrow.

Ren blushed when he heard this because he had forgotten that he was wearing his sister's clothes - "Thank you."
