"Not bad at all" - said Kurama as he sat on the stage of the main stadium of the Indigo Plateau city. He was smiling as he waited for the time to start with the opening event.

The matter was simple, he would fight against all the champions to start the Pokémon league, in other words, so that the challengers could start getting their medals, as well as announce the main event, the tournament of champions, although it was a pity that Paldea could not participate due to organizational problems.

The regional champions were waiting for the moment of their entrance with excitement, after all, they were about to face an opponent worthy of their titles, not to mention that no one had managed to see Kurama's complete team during all his years as gym leader.

"Anything I need to know during my battle?" - Leon asked as he looked at Sonia, who was looking at her electronic notebook.

"Let's see, so far only three Pokémon from Kurama-san's team have been registered, those are Milotic, Lucario and Dragapult" - replied Sonia while frowning - "According to rumors, he is also said to have a Salamance and a Dragonite"

"Dragon-type specialist, I feel right at home" - said Leon sarcastically as he remembered his other friend, the same self-centered man who would have to be cursing him for not getting the chance to face a specialist of the same elemental type as him.

"True, though Kurama-san isn't as annoying as Roy" - Sonia added with a small smile - "That leaves us with 5 Pokémon, and the sixth one... let's just say I think I know which one it might be, and I honestly don't know if it's good, or bad."

"Ho ~?" - Leon gave his friend a curious look as he waited for her to continue.

"I think it's Mewtwo" - Sonia answered seriously.

"Mewtwo?" - Lionel repeated as he recalled the information he had about this Pokémon - "That's a bit worrying..."

"I know, although it's also possible that its last Pokémon is a slightly weaker one, though no less annoying to fight" - Sonia added while showing a photo she had managed to find.

Leon looked at the photo and noticed with surprise how Kurama was with his family and right behind him was his Pokémon team, which consisted of a Salamance, a Milotic, a Dragapult, a Lucario, a Latios and finally a Garchomp of a strange dark blue, almost black color.

"Confirmed, it's a freaking dragon-type specialist, god, how I hate them..." - Leon muttered while holding the bridge of his nose - "And not only that, he has a freaking team of pseudo legendaries, the type of Pokémon that is the hardest to train..."

Sonia smiled slightly because despite her words, Leon was smiling with excitement.

"Well, that was his team in the old days, so we don't know what kind of changes he must have made to it" - Sonia said while crossing her arms.

"You have a point, I guess I'm thinking too much" - Leon said while shrugging his shoulders - "I wonder what the other champions are thinking?"

"Do you want me to have a look?" - Sonia asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"In the least, that would make everything more boring, after all, it's more exciting to face the unknown" - replied Lionel as he gave a toothy grin to his best friend - "Not to mention that I'm sure they also modified their equipment for the occasion."

"I'm surprised you called me, Cynthia-san" - said Professor Rowan while to the blonde-haired woman.

"That shows how excited and nervous I am" - Cynthia replied with a small smile - "Honestly, I haven't felt like this since I had my first time defending my title..."

"Oh, what a good time" - said Rowan with a small smile as he remembered the image of how nervous Cynthia was during that fight - "Your grandmother kept laughing..."

"I know, she told me that when the fight was over" - Cynthia answered while clicking her tongue - "Anyway, I didn't call you here to talk about the past, I want you to watch this and give me your opinion"

Rowan was silent for a few seconds before nodding - "Not bad at all, those two changes will help you a lot during the battle, more against a possible dragon type specialist, although I feel that things won't be easy for you, even with type advantage."

"I know, and that's what makes my heart pounding" - Cynthia replied with a small smile - "It's like I'm going back to the time where I was a young novice trainer with my Gible"

Rowan nodded when he heard this, he knew Cynthia thanks to the friendship he had with her grandmother, so he had witnessed everything she had done to make it to her position as one of the strongest Pokémon trainers in the world.

"Seriously, I'm jealous that you can participate in this event, cousin" - said a beautiful light blue-haired girl who was wearing wearing a tight blue outfit with a white slit down the center that started from her generous cleavage to all the way down to her crotch.

"That's what you get for not wanting to accept my proposal, Clair" - said Lance while giving a blank look to the light blue haired girl - "I offered you to become Johto's champion while I took over Kanto, but no, you wanted to stay guarding the dragon shrine..."

"That's my duty as the next clan leader" - Clair replied while shaking her head - "I hope Kurama-san hasn't changed his team too much, after all, I'd like to see a real battle between dragon type specialists."

Lance shook his head while looking at his Pokémon, which had accompanied him all this time.

"Are you sure you want to go with that team?" - Clair asked as she crossed her arms.

"Of course" - replied Lance with a huge smile - "Although it's a pity I couldn't use my three Dragonite."

"I think it would be boring to have to repeat the same fight three times" - said Clair as she rolled her eyes at her cousin - "Not to mention that if it were up to you, you'd use 6 Dragonite, it's just that you don't because you don't know what moves to put on them."

Lance grimaced when he heard this, though he had to admit she wasn't wrong.

"I see you're nervous, old friend" - said a man who was wearing a slightly effeminate and tight-fitting outfit, though honestly that didn't seem to bother him because he was showing off his body proudly.

"Well, this is one of the most important battles I'm going to have in my life" - replied Steven while looking at his Pokeballs - "Besides, this will be my last event as champion".

"Although that's a sad news, I can hear how excited you are too, it's like the thrill of seeing a worthy opponent in a contest, just thinking about it makes me want to perform my best act" - said Walace while letting out a small laugh.

"I hope I don't have to get constant calls about how you're wreaking havoc with the people who come to challenge you" - said Steven with a small smile.

"How rude!" - Walace exclaimed as he snorted in annoyance - "It's not like I make challengers have to also go through Pokémon contests, I'm a Pokémon trainer too, Steven, my friend!"

"I know, I was just kidding" - Steven said while shaking his head - "What do you think about this?"

"It doesn't look too bad, although I feel you have it a bit complicated" - said Walace while frowning slightly - "I mean. I don't have the moral right to tell you because I have a water monotype, but you lack variety"

"I know, that's why I have these two little ones that I came across during my travels around the world" - replied Steven as he pulled out two more Pokeballs.

Walace was surprised before smiling slightly - "That's a little better, even, I would make a change with these two..."

"I was thinking the same thing" - Steven said as he thought about his future battle - "My old friend Metagross, my trusty Aggron, my ever loyal Skarmory, my lethal Excadrill, and..."

"I know, you don't have to tell me the rest of your team, I can see it with my own eyes" - Walace said as he rolled his eyes at him - "Anyway, I think it's best I leave for now, so at least you can psych yourself up for the fight, after all, I don't want your excitement to boil over, and you run off to fight Kurama-san, like you found the clue to a rare stone"

"Oh, come on, I'm not that bad" - Steven said as he folded his arms.

"Do you want me to remind you what happened when you heard the rumor that they found clues of a possible meteorite falling somewhere in the [Shoal Cave]?" - Walace asked disdainfully.

"Oh, you had to remind me of that incident..." - Steven said as he let out a groan of irritation because that was one of his weak moments.

"What about the rumor of the dual elemental type evolutionary stone?" - Walace continued as he folded his arms.

"Ok, I get your point, I lose my mind when it comes to rare stones" - said Steven as he raised his hands in surrender - "Now go away, I have to get ready."

"Hai, hai!" - Walace exclaimed as he shook his head and left the room.
