The Duke's Unwanted Wife

C161 Epilogue

C161 Epilogue

Upon hearing the cry of a baby, their hearts of multiple people became calm. The mother had been in labor for a total of two days, trying her hardest to push her babies out. The second followed the first closely and they were both taken out to be cleaned. The father of the child had been there the whole time, clasping her hand as tightly as she clasped his. He kissed her forehead and watched her until she fell asleep from exhaustion before going out of the room.

"Is she well? Are the babies well?"

He was bombarded with questions as soon as he came out. He nodded, smiling. Messangers were sent out immediately. The royal heirs of Polivia had been born.

Natalia had always asked herself this question: What would a timeline without me look like?

Since she was never born, her mother didn't have to go through the pain of bearing another child. Her relationship with Marquis Adamantine became better, she made the step to reconnect with her family and she went on to have a fruitful married life. Sebastian followed a similar trajectory to the previous timelines, only this time, he met Princess Temara at one of the Queen's birthday ball and they fell in love at first sight, getting married a few months later.

For Princess Alana, she ended up leaving the royal family and cutting ties with them after she reached the age of 16 to travel the world with Count and Countess Selene. She met Dame Violet and after she proved her worth, received the keys to the secret vault and became the new president of the Merchant Association.

Adelie lost her magic for the stability of her soul so she couldn't become a Saintess. She protected the children of the slums, killed the heirs of her family so she could be recognized as the only heir by her dying father, who she happened to poison. After taking over the Grayson family, she decided to be a part of the Merchant Association and met Countess Quartz. While helping her with the procedure, they fell in love and left their future to the universe to decide.

The battle at Beldania didn't happen. However, the war between the Empire and Ducroft occured. Fredrich made a name for himself as a war general and as a reward, he married the second princess, Ariella and would eventually become the king after Crown Prince William and the King pass away from a curse. The Queen locked herself up in a monastery for the rest of her life and Princess Francesca ended up marrying a commoner she fell in love and absconded with.

The werecreatures all decided to migrate to Polivia under severe hardships. Many didn't make it past the Berden Pass but the ones who did were able to start better lives in the kingdom of Polivia. So far so good, it was a happy ending for most.

For Natalia and Marvis, well, it was better to call them Nataroth and Egerth. It would take them both 500 years to be able to gain their souls and bodies back. Natalia retained her name and became the original goddess of creation. Since she technically never lived as a mortal as she was never born, she couldn't be called an ascended god.

Marvis became the original god of the mountains and a symbol of freedom, hope and prosperity for non-human races. Since he never existed as a mortal as he was never born, he also qualified as an original god.

Legend has it that if you look at a mountain at night, you can still see the two dancing and spreading love to hopeless romantics. They became the ideal lovers in the stories of many historians and cultures.

From a hopeless desire to just disappear from the world, one woman rose to become one of the most powerful and memorable gods that ever existed. This is the story of the woman unwanted by the Duke, the story of a woman who became a god, Natalia Adamantine.
