C687 Zhou Kou Kou Shop's Remains

C687 Zhou Kou Kou Shop's Remains

Yang Bo felt that Cao Yuande probably had something to ask him, but he couldn't be sure.

Not long after returning home, Yang Bo received a call from Cao Yuande, who invited him to meet up at a teahouse.

Yang Bo was very surprised, but he knew that there must be a reason why Cao Yuande was secretly looking for him at this time. He did not hesitate too much and settled Yue Junyao before heading to the teahouse.

Yang Bo met Cao Yuande in the Main Hall. When he saw him, he was holding a teacup and drinking tea with great concentration.

Yang Bo sat down and also picked up his teacup without saying a word.

After a long while, Cao Yuande finally asked, "Are you busy lately?"

"Not bad." Yang Bo said.

Cao Yuande paused for a while, then lowered his voice: "Do you know the remains of the Apemen from Zhou Kou Shop?"

Yang Bo was stunned, "I know, isn't this written in the history books of the high school? ~ Don't we still have the ruins of Zhou's Kou Shop at the Dijing area? "

Cao Yuande nodded his head, "But you don't know, the remains of Zhou Kou Shop are missing. There are some remains in the museum at the ruins.

Yang Bo was a little shocked. He was really unclear about this matter and could not help but raise his head to look at Cao Yuande. "You can't be thinking of letting me retrieve the remains, right?"

Cao Yuande laughed, "Smart!"

Yang Bo placed the teacup on the table, "Alright, let's end our talk here. I'm going to go, get up early and go to bed early!"

Cao Yuande looked at Yang Bo, "Do you not want to continue listening?"

Yang Bo shook his head, "I don't want to at all, see you later!"

"What would you think if I told you that I found the remains of Zhou Kou Shop, along with a lot of gold?" Cao Yuande said.

Yang Bo continued to shake his head, "The best thing about me is that I am not greedy for money!"

"6000 tons!" Cao Yuande said.

Yang Bo had already walked out of the room, but upon hearing these words, he could not help but stop in his tracks, raising his head to look at Cao Yuande, "How much did you say?"

Cao Yuande lowered his head, looked at the table, and acted dumb: "What did I say just now, I even forgot it, do you want to remind me?"

Yang Bo sat down again. According to the current price of gold, three hundred yuan per gram, a ton of gold is worth three hundred million. Six thousand tons of gold, the total value is more than eighteen hundred billion!

This was a huge sum of money!

A huge sum of money that was enough to make a country go crazy!

Yang Bo looked at Cao Yuande, "If there's anything you need, feel free to tell me!"

Cao Yuande couldn't help but laugh, "You are truly a money grubber. If I don't talk about money, you won't let me go, right?"

Yang Bo smiled and did not reply.

"Do you know of Golden Lily Project?" Cao Yuande asked again.

Yang Bo nodded, "I understand a little."

Cao Yuande nodded his head, "That's good, let me explain to you the entire story of how Zhou Kou Shop's remains went missing!"

Cao Yuande recounted the entire incident in detail.

On December 2, 1928, a complete ape-man skull was excavated at the Zhoukou Shop. Before the Lugou Bridge accident in July 1937, eleven years of excavation at the Zhoukou Shop showed that there were more than 40 human fossils and a large number of stone artifacts.

Zhou Kou Shop Ape Fossil is a priceless treasure. It was stored in a safe at the Dijing Concorde Hospital and was under the care and research of the famous American anthropologist Weiden Rui.

In early 1941, relations between Japan and the United States became tense. Weitong suggested that it would not be safe to keep the precious Dijing Ape fossils in Beiping under Japanese rule, and suggested that they should be transferred temporarily to the New York Museum of Natural History for preservation until after the war and then shipped to China. After repeated negotiations, the two sides reached an agreement on the matter. In mid-November, the U. S. Embassy in China called from Chongqing, instructing the U. S. Legation to take charge of transit.

On November 20, Dijing Concord Hospital was ordered to box Dijing Apes' fossils. The fossils in the box are: 5 skulls, 15 skull fragments, 14 mandible, 147 clavicles, femur, upper arm bones, teeth, etc. All the fossils were packed in two large wooden crates and transported by the American Legation to Marine Corps headquarters, where they were escorted by Colonel Ashurst.

Colonel Ashurst ordered the soldiers to transfer the two wooden crates to the American standard boxes and wait for the ships to be loaded. According to the original plan, a ship, the "President Harrison", would arrive in Qinhuangdao from Shanghai on December 11 and then sail from Qinhuangdao to the United States. At the orders of the colonel, the Marine Corps medical surgeon, Fowler, who will escort the fossils safely to the United States, will transport the standardized box along with his personal luggage from the Dijing to the U.S. military barracks in Horcanbe, Qinhuangdao, in a total of 24 boxes.

Something unexpected happened. On December 7th the Pearl Harbor incident broke out. The Horcanbe Barracks in Qinhuangdao were occupied by Japanese troops, and all the United States Marines were captured. Soon after, the captives were taken to the Tianjin POW camp. Ten days later, the luggage of American prisoners of war had been transported from Qinhuangdao to Tianjin. Most of Dr. Foley's luggage was still there, including the American standard box containing the fossils of the Dijing apes.

Dr. Foley evacuated his remaining luggage, including the standardized cases, in Tianjin: part of it in a warehouse built by Swiss businessmen in Tianjin, part in the Pasteur Institute in the French Concession, and part in the homes of Chinese friends. Dr. Foley had not opened the standardized box before the evacuation.

After the war, the location of the standardized box containing the Dijing Ape fossils was unknown. China's priceless treasure passed through the hands of the United States Marines, from Dijing to Qinhuangdao, from Qinhuangdao to Tianjin, and finally disappeared in Tianjin.

Where did the Dijing Ape Stone go? One theory is that the Standardization Box was loaded on board the "President Harrison" on Qinhuangdao, but that the ship was unfortunately sunk en route to the United States. The Dijing Ape's fossil had sunk into the sea. Some say that the ship did not sink, but was intercepted by the Japanese along the way, and the fossils fell into the hands of the Japanese and were later lost.

Another theory was that the Dijing Ape had never left Beiping City. It was buried in the backyard of the American Legation in Beijing. A guard who served as a guard at the United States Marine Corps headquarters recalled seeing two people secretly burying boxes of items in the yard just before Pearl Harbor, which he assumed might have been the fossils of the Dijing Apes.

Hearing this, Yang Bo frowned slightly, and looked at Cao Yuande. "This is all? Since you want me to find the remains, then you should have more accurate information! "

Cao Yuande laughed: "Don't be impatient, I have yet to say anything. Recently, our special forces have discovered some undecrypted evidence and received the translator, discovering the whereabouts of the Apeman's skeleton!"

"Where?" Yang Bo was a little shocked.
