C68 Other Women's Clothes

C68 Other Women's Clothes

Jian Yun reeled back, repulsed by his suggestion. Of course, Huo Liancheng would have spare clothes lying in his drawers. Knowing him, it must've been from all the spares that he had gathered from his one-night stands. He probably considered them as some sort of trophy or take away from the act that he had partaken in. Her nose wrinkled in disgust. It seemed that her assumptions of him were right. He might've said that he liked her when in reality, he was simply messing around.

"I'm not wearing another tramp's clothing!" Jian Yun snapped. "Who knows what she does with them while she's with you!"

"Are you jealous?" Huo Liancheng chuckled. All his anger from earlier instances had completely dissipated as he waited at the other side of the doorway.

"You wish!" To prove her point, she pushed the door open and stretched out her arm. "Just hand it over!"

Not saying another word, he took out a paper bag from one of his cabinets and handed it over to her.

Bang! The door was slammed shut, and Jian Yun used the time by wiping off the blood from her thighs and clothes. Slipping into her shameful underwear, she stuck the sanitary pad in and breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily enough, the underwear didn't feel that uncomfortable despite its racy appearance. With a sigh, she narrowed her eyes at the paper bag and pulled out the clothes.

When she felt the cotton fabric, she was immediately dumbfounded. Wasn't this hers? Why did he have them?

In a split-second, she thought back to the time she had accompanied him to the banquet. Huo Liancheng had taken her to Ou Xueli's place to change into a ballgown fit for the evening. She had forgotten all about the clothes she had left behind, so the middle-aged woman must've handed it to him.

"How is it? Do they fit you?" Huo Liancheng asked, trying to hold back his laughter.

'Who knows what she does with them when she's with you!' Her voice echoed in the back of her mind as Jian Yun held onto the fabric. Clutching it to her chest, her cheeks reddened even further. How the hell was he going to respond to him now? Squeezing her eyes shut, she turned away from the door, wanting nothing more than to slap herself on the face. Hadn't she embarrassed herself enough for the day?

Pulling her jeans up, she grabbed the shirt in the paper bag, only to realize something.

The dress she was wearing today had a zipper on her back. Luo Yanyan had to pry it up for her because she wasn't able to reach it, and now that she was standing here all by herself, she couldn't do it no matter how far she had stretched her arms back. She gritted her teeth, digging her nails into her palms.

'I should've checked the calendar today,' Jian Yun thought, resisting the urge to cry out. However, what's done was done. It seemed that the fates really hated her today for them to wash her over with this much grief!

"Why is it taking so long?" Huo Liancheng knocked again.

However, just as he was about to call out for the second time, the door was slowly pushed open–revealing a frustrated woman standing right in front of him. Although she had already changed her jeans, she still hadn't changed out of her dress. He frowned and raised his eyebrows. "Is something wrong?"

Too lazy to argue with him, she whirled around and pushed her long hair to the side. "Help me zip it up," she murmured bitterly.

"For someone asking for help, you sure are cranky," he snarked.

Jian Yun's anger flared up again. Despite her aching stomach, she stomped towards him and crossed her arms over her chest, looking like a child who was in the midst of throwing a tantrum. "Then, please help me zip–hey! What are you doing?"

She yelped when he suddenly stretched out his hand. Thinking that he was going to do something to her, she immediately jumped back from his grip, leaning against the bathroom door. Her eyes narrowed intently as if wanting to tell him that she was watching his every move. Huo Liancheng, however, looked completely unbothered by his stare.

"Don't you want me to loosen the zipper?" He suddenly hooked his arm around her slender waist and pulled her towards his chest. His large hands reached behind her back, gently pulling the zipper down to her hips. The warmth of her skin embraced the coldness of his fists, and he tensed up.

Before Jian Yun could react, she felt her collar loosening around her chest. She subconsciously hugged the fabric around her shoulders, afraid that the dress would suddenly fall off.

Huo Liancheng paid no heed to the nakedness she had felt. Instead, his eyes narrowed at the flash of light from her collar. "What's that on your neck?"

Not bothering to answer him, she quickly pushed him out of the way and headed back into the bathroom to take off her dress.

"At least it's done," she murmured to herself as she pushed all her dirty clothes into the paperback. Staring at her reflection, Jian Yun patted her pale face and tied her hair up into a messy ponytail. With one last look at the luxurious bathroom, she took a deep breath and walked back into the lounge.

Not wanting to stay in his presence, she lowered her head and dashed out of the office. She was already humiliated for the day, and she didn't need any more chances for her to lose even more face to him. Even if she didn't like Huo Liancheng, she'd be crazy if she said that she wasn't ashamed for what had happened today.

"You won't even thank me?" He stared at her retreating back, sighing exasperatedly. "So heartless."

Jian Yun pretended that she couldn't hear a thing, continuing to run forward. Coincidentally, she ran right into Cheng Muze, who had just gotten off the elevator.

"Sister Jian?" He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, but before he could say anything to her, she had already entered the elevator in a panic–looking like a stray mouse on the run.

Frowning, he turned to his brother. "Fourth Bro, what did you do to Sister Jian?" He tilted his head. "Why did she change her clothes?"

However, Huo Liancheng still looked deep in thought. He leaned against his desk, thinking back to the flash of light that he had seen on her neck.

When Jian Yun returned to the HR Department, she was immediately swamped by her colleagues, congratulating her for such a promising young boyfriend. And soon enough, she found herself being crowded over with questions regarding her friendship with Huo Liancheng, and why the man would invite her boyfriend over to their lunch table. "Are they close?" They'd peer at her and ask. "Maybe you can put in a good word for me."

Not being in the mood to deny or affirm their claims, she simply nodded and responded with a few casual words before walking straight to her own cubicle. When she had finally sat down, she bent over on her table, not having the energy to move. As if sensing her dismay, Wu Wenjing walked over to her with a mischievous glint in her eyes. 'Just what I need.'

"Yun," she sang. "Be honest. Did you sleep with President Huo just now?"

"You know I didn't, and speaking of President Huo, did you know what you've done?" Jian Yun knocked her friend at the back of her head, scowling. "What the hell was that underwear? Were you trying to humiliate me to death?"

"Then why would you ask me to buy you underwear?" Her eyebrows furrowed. Could there be another factor that she hadn't put in?

"I had my period!" Protesting weakly, she buried her head into her arms. Just the thought of Huo Liancheng seeing the blood pooling at the back of her butt made her sick. Her face paled even further, and she looked like she was on the brink of collapsing.

Wu Wenjing, however, didn't share her sentiments. She suddenly burst into laughter, attracting the attention of a few of their co-workers. Seeing this, she waved her hand dismissively and turned to her friend.

"Thank you for finding my embarrassment amusing," she said dryly.

"I'm sorry!" Wu Wenjing sputtered out in-between her laughs. "It's just too funny!"

"Just get out of my sight!" Jian Yun kicked her and her friend used this opportunity to roll her seat back to her table. Even then, Wu Wenjing still couldn't stop laughing as she slammed her fists against her thighs. 'Maybe I'm better off in getting new friends,' she thought sarcastically, turning back to her screen.

However, as she buried her face into her table, the worse she felt about the events that had just transpired today. Of all the people she could've done that to, it had to be Huo Liancheng! Why was it that every time that man had shown up in her vicinity, she'd find herself getting into all these stupid situations? It was as if someone had cursed her to mess up whenever he looked her in her direction!

Fortunately, she didn't have any feelings for him, and she had only made a fool of herself in front of him. As long as they didn't see each other again, she could go ahead and pretend as if nothing had happened. Besides, it wasn't like he'd pull out his windows and yell out everything that had happened in his office, right? Whatever happened in that office stayed in his office.

Thinking of this, Jian Yun felt a little bit better as she straightened her back and turned to her screen. Although her stomach was aching, that still wasn't an excuse to slack off on her work. With a sigh, she turned on her computer and started typing in her documents, whistling lowly as she did so.

Although the department was as quiet as a mouse, the manager's office sounded like it was going through a raging tornado. Xia Bingbing scattered her documents across the tiled floor, and her manicured fingernails tore through the envelopes she was holding. Slapping Hui on the face, she glared at her. "Why didn't you tell me that Huo Liancheng was going to eat at the staff's dining hall today?"

Hui clutched her throbbing face. "Sister Bingbing, his decision to eat there was sudden. I've even heard that the directors themselves were surrpised," she quickly relayed the information. "How was I supposed to know?"

"Then why didn't you call me?" Xia Bingbing shrieked. She had always believed that dining in the staff's dining hall was far too disgraceful for her taste. Besides, she was the manager, and her grandfather was the chairman. Why would she stoop to their level and eat there? This was why she'd go to the high-class dining hall whenever she needed to eat here, and that had gone on ever since she stepped foot into this office.

How the hell was she supposed to know that Huo Liancheng would eat in the staff cafeteria as soon as he had arrived?
