You, CEO’s Secret Wife

C99 Minh's

C99 Minh's

Jian Yun knew that Bai Ze had an operation in the morning, so she came early to ask him about her mother's condition. "I still have to observe your mother's condition for a few days, but she might need to undergo a second operation by the end of the weak," he explained. "Ms. Ouyang Fei has already suffered so much trauma from her previous injuries. It's best that we make sure that she's stabilized first."

"Why don't we meet up for dinner? I could explain it to you in better detail," he suggested, glancing at his watch. Not wanting to busy him any further, she agreed to his offer and left it at that. After all, he still had an operation to get to.

Her mother was still staying in the ICU, so Jian Yun was only allowed to look through the blinded windows and peer through her shadowed figure. Knowing that there wasn't anything else she could do, she decided to leave the hospital for the day and head straight to Ming's. It was always customary for the resigning employee to sign a couple more papers before getting the approval from the higher-ups, so it was better that she got over it now.

Half an hour later, Jian Yun was already standing by Ming's Gate. She had worked there for the past few months, so it was weird to see it for the last time. "And here I thought I'd actually be working here all my life," she murmured to herself, before shaking her head. At this point, all she could do was move on. Besides, she had already made her decision. She asked for a cardboard box from the reception desk and went straight to the HR Department to pack up her things.

As soon as she arrived, many of her colleagues quickly surrounded her. "How have you been?" They've greeted her, welcoming her back into the office. However, when they caught sight of her sunken eyes and pale cheeks, their eyebrows furrowed over in concern. They've all had bad days in the office, but this was the first time they had seen Jian Yun so at a loss that they couldn't help but be a little confused as to why.

"Are you okay? Did something happen at home?" Sister Xiao was practically the Mother Hen of the department, being one of the oldest, so she had taken it upon herself to make sure that everyone's okay. She held Jian Yun's hand, patting her gently. "Do you need any help?"

"It's nothing. I just caught a cold early this week." She forced a smile into her lips. She had already warned Wu Wenjing not to talk about her affairs at the company since she didn't want anyone to know about her mother's condition. After all, this was her responsibility to shoulder, not anyone else's. Although her friend was reluctant, she grudgingly agreed. "I'm sure I'll be fine."

"You should pay more attention to your body!" Little Zhou was another one of her colleagues. There was a time where he had tried to court her around the office. Although she had already rejected him, he still couldn't help but be infatuated with her looks. Now that he saw how haggard she looked, he felt a little sorry for her.

"I will. Thank you." Her colleagues had always been so nice to her, and she was grateful for them. Even then, she couldn't help but glance at the side to look for Wu Wenjing, unsure as to where she had gone off to. 'She should be here by now,' Jian Yun thought before shaking her head. Her friend must've been at another department getting her work done.

"But, Yun, why do you have to resign?" Seeing her packing up her things, Sister Xiao pursed her lips and crossed her arms over her chest. "Ming's work environment isn't that bad, and now that President Huo is here, Ming's future would definitely be promising. In fact, right now, we're one of the best enterprises in the entire Eastern Region. It would be a shame if you resign now."

Just as she was about to respond, Xia Bingbing's shrill voice echoed across the low ceilings, "Xiao Jinghua, since you already know more about the development of Ming's, then perhaps it's best if you keep working on this continuous development rather than chatting up with your co-workers." She sneered. "If you don't want your salary cut, then I suggest you head back to work!"

It was only when Jian Yun raised her head did she see Manager Xia standing by the entrance of her office with her arms pressed against her stomach, looking down on them as if they were garbage waiting to be picked up. If there was a reason for her to be happy about leaving this place, then it would definitely be not seeing Xia Bingbing ever again. She had enough of that woman to last her a lifetime!

Jian Yun simply ignored her. Seeing that she didn't really have many personal belongings on her desk, she had managed to pack everything up within a few minutes. It was only then when she raised her head and looked at the Deputy Manager sitting at the front of the office. "Manager Chen," she slowly asked. "Do I need to provide any more paperwork for my resignation?"

Xia Bingbing gritted her teeth. Glancing at Hui, she turned her head and gazed at back them. "Jian Yun, we'd need to check your box to see if you've taken any of Ming's belongings."

"Sure," she responded. Knowing that the woman was only here to cause trouble, she took a step back and placed the box right in front of the two women. Besides, Jian Yun didn't really have the strength to argue against them anymore. Raising her eyebrows, she motioned to the box as an indication that they could do whatever they want.

Hui was the one who stepped forward and poured all the box's contents onto the ground. Various papers scattered across the tiles as different objects bounced across the floor. All of Jian Yun's colleagues could only look at the sight in disbelief, obviously disgruntled with what was happening. Xia Bingbing's actions were far too humiliating.

However, Jian Yun still didn't say a word. She could only watch Hui with narrowed eyes as the woman inspected her things one by one before throwing them to the side.

Seeing as there weren't any documents, the young woman shook her head in disappointment.

"Well? Are you done?" Jian Yun spoke up.

Xia Bingbing's face had turned gloomy, and she didn't say a word. Although she looked beautiful, there was a certain disdain painted across her face that could ward off any man who was planning to court her. After all, she acted far more like a devil than an actual woman. With a sigh, Jian Yun squatted down and picked up all the things that were thrown onto the floor. Sister Xiao bent down to help her pack up.

Once she was finished, Jian Yun finally turned away and was just about to ask Vice Manager Chen for any additional papers when Xia Bingbing quickly stepped in front of her.

"I still have to check your bag," she said coldly.

"I haven't even touched my bag the moment I got here! Don't be preposterous!" This time, Jian Yun flushed dark red. Although she was too exhausted to even bother with Xia Bingbing's requests, there was no way she was going to be bulled this easily. After all, she was no welcome rug. "Besides, it's an invasion of my privacy."

"I'm simply thinking of Ming's. I don't want my reputation to be ruined just because an employee couldn't keep her hands to herself." Xia Bingbing held her head up high, and her bright eyes glowed with contempt. "If by any chance, you have brought some important documents out of this company, then you might as well have lost all the progress that we've made. That would be a shame, don't you think?"

"Please, as if I'd do such a thing!" There was no way she was going to let that woman rummage through her bag.

Just as she was about to walk away, Hui reached out for Jian Yun's hand. She had tried to avoid it, but it was already too late. Perhaps it was because of the fact that she hadn't eaten or slept in the past three days that she had grown quite fatigued. She immediately stumbled back, and the box fell from her hands, followed by her shoulder bag.

"Jian Yun!" Sister Xiao quickly supported her.

However, Hui wasn't focused on the falling woman. Instead, she grabbed a hold of her bag and poured out all the items from her bag onto the ground in satisfaction.

Watching Hui pour out the box's contents was enough to make everyone around them uncomfortable from the scene. However, now that they were watching the newcomer rummage through Jian Yun's bag–something that directly involved the person at hand, they couldn't help but feel disgusted by the sight. A few female colleagues screamed at Hui to stop, but as soon as a box fell onto the ground, they immediately fell silent.

The jewelry box was made of pure gold, with hearts engraved around the opening. The design was exquisite, and anyone could tell that the box itself was worth millions or even billions of yuan. Out of curiosity, Hui slowly opened the box, only to gasp at its contents. Everyone narrowed their eyes at the pink diamond inside the box. It was enough to make everyone breathless as they all stared at the glittering stone.

"Holy shit! That diamond is huge!"

"Look, it's even pink! How much do you think it is?" All her surrounding female colleagues exclaimed in shock, and they immediately gathered closer. Their eyes were trained to the glinting diamond as their arms were suspended in the air as if the mere sight of the jewelry had frozen them to their feet. It was definitely a sight to behold.

Even Hui was dumbfounded.

"Give it to me!" When Xia Bingbing caught sight of the pink diamond, she also felt a little faint. It took her a few seconds to finally recover before she grabbed the jewelry box from Hui's hands and carefully examined it in disbelief. Her eyes narrowed as her fingernails dug against the shiny surface. "It's fake. It must be! How can you afford a pink diamond?"

"It doesn't matter if it's fake or not, but that diamond is mine. Manager Xia, you've just violated my right to privacy," Jian Yun said, snapping out of her reverie. Her gaze became cold, and her lips were pursed. "Do you want me to sue you?"

"Where the hell did you get the Lover's Heart?" Xia Bingbing glared furiously at her. The veins on her forehead were practically bulging from the rage that was coursing through her veins.

The Lover's Heart was sold at the Sotheby's Auction House at a sky-high price to a mysterious buyer. It had attracted the world's attention, and it was basically the talk of the year. Who had bought it? Who was it for? These were the questions that raced through everyone's minds and Xia Bingbing was one of them. She remembered seeing the photo of the diamond and wishing she had the money to afford such a beautiful thing. She could only wonder who the lucky woman that diamond was given to.

Now, upon seeing the precious diamond in Jian Yun's hands, she could only clench her hands even harder.

"Why should I tell you?" Jian Yun ignored her. Back when she was still working at Ming's, she would've already diffused the tension by bowing her head and turning away. Now that she had resigned, she certainly wasn't afraid of Xia Bingbing anymore. If there weren't so many people watching them right now, she would've smashed the box onto the bitch's head.
