Jason raised his hand to stop Bai Xiaoxiao from speaking and sneered: "I'm not here to sign the contract but to inform you, the Directing team has confirmed the asian actress and it's not Chiang Yumeng."

Bai Wanning was flabbergastered.    

    

"Jason, what do you mean? You saw Yumeng's audition video. She definitely has the ability …"    

    

"That's your version! The audition video was blurred. Are you sure it really was Chiang Yumeng? Also, yesterday didn't you say Yan Xi is just an unpopular female celebrity who doesn't have any ability or credits, and that she only made it to the top because of her shameless behaviour!"    

    

Jason angrily threw the document folder on the table, "She was the one who won the best actress award. She also happens to be Nasha's good friend. So without stating the obvious, between Yan Xi and Chiang Yumeng, even a fool would know who to choose."    

    

"No …" Bai Xiaoxiao was speechless and could not refute.     

    

"Enough of this, I have no objections to who you want to make popular. That's your company's business but I cannot forgive you for your deception!" Jason slammed his fist on the table in anger. If Bai Xiaoxiao hadn't interfered, he wouldn't have misunderstood Yan Xi and nearly lost an opportunity to work with such an amazing actress.    

    

"But Yumeng is already here, and we've been discussing this cooperation for so long. The filming is going to start soon, are you really going to replace her? Jason, considering the countless times we have worked together in the past. Don't be merciless!" Bai Xiaoxiao was determined to change Jason's decision.     

    

Jason grunted, "Fine, it doesn't matter if it's one asian female star or two, I can't make that decision anymore, it's up to that female star."    

    

"Okay, tell me who she is and I'll convince her to film together with Yumeng." Bai Xiaoxiao was confident that she could easily persuade anyone, but she never would have expected to see Yan Xi walk into the conference room.

Bai Xiaoxiao took a deep breath and swallowed the anger burning in her, "Of course, since the directing team have chosen Yan Xi, we will definitely support her. Yan Xi and Yumeng are both artists in our company, so it's only normal for them to work together, right, Yan Xi?"    

    

She frowned and was constantly signalling Yan Xi with her eyes. Huihuang Entertainment would be a laughing stock in the industry if Yan Xi were to embarrass them in front of Jason.     

    

Jason looked at Yan Xi worriedly, "Do you need my assistance?"

Yan Xi had already anticipated Bai Xiaoxiao to have such a reaction. She said to Jason, "You've helped me a lot already. I can handle the rest. You can rest assured, I'll definitely take part in the show."     

    

"Alright, I'll wait for you outside." Jason glanced at Bai Xiaoxiao meaningfully for a moment and left the conference room.    

    

As soon as the door closed, Bai Luofan raised his voice, "Yan Xi, what is the meaning of this? Do you have to cause problems?" Glaring at Yan Xi and protecting Chiang Yumeng behind him. "We are over, even you said we can't go back to the past. Why do you keep insisting on going against Yumeng? Are you so jealous that you can't stand to see her be better than you?"    

    

"Jealous?"    

    

Yan Xi laughed and firmly said, "I'm just taking back what was rightfully mine. You can support Chiang Yumeng all you want, I honestly couldn't care less. But clearly, by submitting a video of my audition was obvious fraud, you have violated my rights. To give you face, I didn't tell Jason this."

"I've already done what I can but don't expect me to be Chiang Yumeng's stepping stone ever again."    

    

"Luofan, I know I'm not as good as her. Let's forget the whole thing and go home. I don't want to win an award for the best actress anymore. I just want to be with you." Chiang Yumeng pulled Bai Luofan while sobbing with a slight trace of jealousy in her eyes.

"I'm just a retired actress who have been suppressed by the company for three years. I don't have a say in my schedules. So from now on, my manager and assistant will only listen to me. I decide what advertisements and films I take on. If you agree to this, I will try to persuade Jason to let Chiang Yumeng participate in the reality show."
