Irresistible Romance

It wasn't because Yan Xi was too conceited, but she was very clear on what standard Chiang Yumeng's acting skills were. It was just a matter of time before she would be discovered she was a fraud. Yan Xi wondered how Bao Xiaoxiao would handle it then.

The drama would only be interesting when there is a twist in the plot towards the climax.    

    

She had something Bai Xiaoxiao didn't even know about. The executive director, Nasha, actually had a close relationship with her, apart from being her acting instructor, they had also worked on two movies together. At the time when she announced her retirement, Nasha had called her a few times to ask her to go abroad, but Yan Xi declined and thanked her.

When Chiang Mochen told her who the executive director was, Yan Xi could hardly believe her luck and was very happy.    

    

When she opened the door, she found that Bai Luofan and Chiang Yumeng were having a discussion with the Assistant Director, Jason.

"This is?" He looked towards Bai Xiaoxiao.    

    

As planned, Bai Xiaoxiao smiled and replied, "She is Yan Xi, one of our local artists."    

    

"Yan Xi?" Jason's expression instantly changed. He shook his head and muttered in English, "What a pity for such a pretty face."    

    

"Mr. Jason has only just heard my name, why do you mean by that?" Yan Xi responded back in perfect english.    

    

"We will not accept an actress like yourself. I think we can talk about signing the contract another time. I'll need to speak to the executive director again." He have heard the rumors about Yan Xi, Bai Xiaoxiao's employees have been spreading and thought Yan Xi was a decoration without any acting skills. Also using her body in exchange for advancing opportunities and that was why she retired.    

    

As far as the Assistant Director was concerned, Yan Xi's reputation was ruined beyond repair.    

    

"Mr. Jason, please let me explain, Yan Xi made a few mistakes but she really is a good actress." It was rare to have Bai Xiaoxiao to speak up for Yan Xi. But in actual fact, under the circumstances, she was adding fuel to the fire.    

    

Mr. Jason frowned as he shook his head, "Our production would be ruined! We need actors that knows how to act professionally! Otherwise it would be deceiving the audience."    

    

Jason pushed his swivel chair away, got up and walked towards the door.    

    

Yan Xi stopped him as she spoke softly, "Mr. Jason, this is our first time meeting each other. You already misunderstood me after you heard a few rumors from other people about me. Aren't you too arbitrary?"    

    

Jason turned around to look at Yan Xi doubtfully, "How dare you say that?"    

    

Actors in the foreign entertainment industry were alway polite to him. With Yan Xi challenging him with her stern tone, on the hand, greatly angered him.    

    

"I never thought your acting is so bad and you have such a terrible temper. I will definitely speak to the executive director for help. I refuse to work with you in future."    

    

In this industry, one wrong move can mean the end of your career.     

    

After listening to Jason's sarcasm, Yan Xi smiled faintly and didn't take anything he said seriously. She just said, "You will come and beg me."

"Yan Xi!" Bai Luofan had enough with her attitude and stopped her, "Watch your attitude!"    

    

Yan Xi sneered, "I never have to put on an act, if you want me to leave, I'll leave but it's your duty to advise the Directing team first. Also on what basis does Chiang Yumeng get to sit here, was it even her in the audition video?"    

    

"You!" Bai Xiaoxiao never expected Yan Xi to know about the fake audition. She quickly stepped in front of Jason, "Alright, Mr. Jason, you can leave first and we'll discuss this more in detail tomorrow."    

    

In her original position, Yan Xi remained seated not moving at all, unperturbed. She remained silent.     

    

Jason glanced at Yan Xi in disgust, "This was a waste my time." He stormed out of the conference room.    

    

As soon as the door closed, Bai Xiaoxiao slammed her hand on the table fiercely, "Yan Xi, what are you trying to do? Jason is the Assistant Director for this production. What good is it for you to provoke him like that? If you want to create trouble, do it somewhere else! Don't drag Yumeng down with you."    

    

What a joke, who is creating trouble to who? who is dragging who down?    

    

Yan Xi turned around to Bai Xiaoxiao with a pitiful expression, "I was just explaining myself. What, I can't even explain myself after I'm being wrongly mistaken? Am I not not an artist of the Huihuang Entertainment? "    

    

"Yan Xi, I think you're over stepping. You are only causing problems fro the company by saying what you did. Go and call Jason to apologize now!" Bai Luofan said.    

    

Sister Xia frowned. Wouldn't Yan Xi admit to all the slandering if she apologized?     

    

Bai Xiaoxiao was aggressively passed the cell phone to Yan Xi. He added in his persuasion if she didn't call Jason to apologize, Huihuang Entertainment wouldn't be able to continue in the industry.     

    

If the situation happened before Yan Xi knew the truth, she would have had second thoughts, but now....    

    

She gently raised her head and asked, " Are you hundred percent sure you want me to call him?"    

    

"Yan Xi, having you and Yumeng participate in the reality show together was for your benefit. Your reputation and image will be doomed if you go against the company. Why did you have to contradict the assistant director?"    

    

"Me contradict him? I just stated the facts. Alright, Fine! Since you insist I call him to apologize, I'll also enquire on what basis does Chiang Yumeng qualify in participating in the show!"    

    

Yan Xi didn't surrender at all even when the Bai cousins pressured her. After hearing what she said, Bai Xiaoxiao immediately changed her mind. If the Directing team found out Chiang Yumeng's audition video was faked, the consequences would be inconceivable. Not only would Chiang Yumeng be rejected, but her years of accumulated connections would also be damaged.    

    

"Okay, Yan Xi, I understand where you're coming from, I get it. But you have to understand, it's Jason that does not want you in the show. I don't have a say on the matter. I will try and see what I can do to help you. That will be all for today. Tomorrow ..."    

    

"So what you're saying is if Jason changes his mind, you'll let me take participate in the show?" Yan Xi grasped the meaning of her words.
