Chu Lin understood that he could not afford to let Yi Tianya, the patriarch of the Wild Lion family, lose too much face either.

Chu Lin answered reluctantly, but he did not have any intentions of staying behind.
In reality, Chu Lin did not have much talent. The only reason he ended up being so powerful was because of his ability to extract genes.
Thus, if he wanted to keep improving his abilities, Chu Lin would have to fight with more Awakened Practitioners with a wide variety of genes in order to obtain better genes.
The Wild Lion Family could indeed provide him with a peaceful place to train along with the abundance of resources.

Since his injuries had yet to fully recover, even if he did not want to stay in the Wild Lion Family, he could not possibly clash head-on with Yi Tianya at this moment.
If he ends up marrying into the family, wouldn't he end up being a mere son-in-law?
Chu Lin then thought back to Princess Yi Yun's slim figure and delicate face. Such a dignified temperament and appearance could only be found in the lady of a noble family.

Yi Tianya said after thinking for a moment.
"While the Gladiator Tournament may be extremely important to the three great families of the Roaring Tribe, the distribution of resources will only be a portion of the initial amount."
"As expected, I didn't think that the three great families would care too much about these resources, given their background and strength."
Chu Lin nodded and said thoughtfully.
Having been into the treasury of the Wild Lion Family before, Chu Lin already had a rough idea of how the Roaring Tribe worked and how rich each of the three great families was.
With such abundant resources in their possessions, Chu Lin did not see a need for the three great families to pay such a huge price to get the top spots in the ranking of the tournament.
As expected, the Gladiator Competition was not as simple as it seemed.
Hearing Patriarch Yi Tianya's words, there appeared to be a deeper meaning behind the Gladiator Tournament.
After a while, Yi Tianya explained everything to Chu Lin.
"The reason why the Roaring Tribe is considered an E-class gathering ground is due to the three great families standing side by side. Furthermore, each family has an Awakened Practitioner with five gene chains overseeing it."
Yi Tianya's tone sounded rather glum.
"The only reason why the three great families had been able to keep the Roaring Tribe under their control was that the patriarchs in every generation would possess at least five gene chains. Only the Awakened Practitioners with the highest combat strength will be able to reach the upper limit of their respective family."
"Every generation?"
Hearing that, Chu Lin was slightly taken aback.
Putting aside the fact that the three great families would rely on each other to maintain the balance of power in the Roaring Tribe, it felt as if the patriarchs of each family was someone without a single gene chain, which was quite strange on its own.
Could it be that in these past few generations, no patriarch had ever completed the sixth chain of genes? Perhaps there were even cases where they did not possess the talent necessary to awaken their fifth chain.
"That's right. In reality, not every patriarch in each generation of the three great families has such talent. Some of their gene chains were even forced out through artificial methods.
Yi Tianya said in a serious tone.
Shocked by Yi Tianya's words, Chu Lin stared at him in disbelief to confirm that he was not joking.
After all, being able to awaken five gene chains through artificial methods was far too shocking.
One has to understand that Awakened Practitioners themselves were rare and precious resources. Even the commander of Weiyang Camp, Han Dong, had only awakened four gene chains himself.
If Awakened Practitioners with five gene chains could be created artificially, then humans wouldn't be in such a difficult situation right now.
"In the center of the Roaring Tribe, there is a three-headed demonic beast that symbolizes the three great families. I wonder if you have noticed?"
Ignoring Chu Lin's suprised reaction, Yi Tianya continued as if he had expected Chu Lin to reveal such a shocked expression.
"I have indeed seen it when I first arrived and thought it was simply an ordinary statue. Could there possibly be some other secrets behind the statue?"
Chu Lin thought back to the enormous statue standing at the center of Roaring Tribe.
The statue was meticulously shaped into a magical beast with three different heads: the head of a lion, tiger and dragon.
Each of the head represented the respective great families of the Roaring Tribe — the Wild Lion, Fierce Tiger, and Crimson Dragon Family.
Since there would be similar symbols in most other human gathering grounds, including Weiyang Camp, Chu Lin did not pay much attention to it.
When Yi Tianya suddenly brought up the existence of the statue, Chu Lin immediately recalled it.
"That statue actually holds the entrance leading to the secret underground realm that contains the Spring of Life. By cultivating in the spring, one would be able to further strengthen and refine their gene chains."
Yi Tianya paused for a moment before continuing.
"The secret underground realm, however, would naturally have its own restrictions. Only Awakened Practitioners with three gene chains or below are able to enter the place. Moreover, several dangerous and rampant mutated beasts roam its grounds. If one is not careful enough, they could possibly meet their ends within the realm.
"Oh, in other words, the Spring of Life in this secret realm can increase the strength of an Awakened Practitioner?"
Chu Lin widened his eyes slightly and began analyzing Yi Tianya from head to toe. Since he is the patriarch of the Wild Lion Family, he must naturally have been training in Spring of Life for quite a bit.
"There's no need to make wild guesses. only by cultivating in the Spring of Life did I manage to awaken five gene chains."
Having guessed Chu Lin's inner thoughts, Yi Tianya exclaimed without any intentions of hiding his past.
"However, there are unfortunately limitations to this Spring of Life as it can only produce a certain amount of its water every three years. Furthermore, its effects will differ between each Awakened Practitioner according to the person's talent.
"In other words, if an ordinary person were to refine their body before entering the spring, they would still be able to improve in terms of strength. However, the degree of improvement would be extremely small. While it could possibly allow them to become an Awakened Practitioner, in theory, ordinary people would simply be unable to withstand the pure gene energy seeping into their body."
"Will there be any side effects resulting from the Spring of Life?"
Chu Lin asked subconsciously after hearing his previous words.
Even the gene drugs — that Awakened Practitioners would do anything to obtain — would contain an abundance of gene energy that an ordinary person could not endure. Thus, Chu Lin did not believe that the unrefined gene energy from the Spring of Life will not produce any negative side effects on its user.
