After all, there would be a high chance that rare items would appear in the auction.    

    

If the buyers were to reveal their identities after winning their bid for such items, it would definitely attract the attention of people with bad intentions.    

    

Walking down the hall, the entire place lacked any sort of lightning, resulting in a dark atmosphere. As such, it made it difficult for anyone to see clearly.    

    

Chu Lin's eyes flashed in excitement as he observed and analyzed the entire hall.    

    

Possessing the Nether Wolf Gene, Chu Lin received a unique advantage in such a dimly-lit place.    

    

On the sides of the hall stood many transparent display cabinets — supposedly the items from the trading market.    

    

Each case had a detailed description of the effects and prices of the items. Awakened Practitioners who were interested in those items could directly purchase them, and there was no need for them to converse with each other.    

    

Chu Lin and Yi Yun took a quick glance at each other.    

    

Several cloaked Awakened Practitioners passed by the area while thoroughly inspecting the items in the display cases.    

    

"Gene Burst Pill, an item that increases one's gene energy for a short period of time upon consumption. While the user may experience the full effects of their gene chain, the side effects of the pill include the destruction of that entire gene. This pill is extremely useful for Awakened Practitioners in life-and-death situations."    

    

"Bloodthirsty Berserk Potion, an item that will greatly increase one's strength and speed for a short period of time. During this period, the user will experience less pain. Side effects include feeling extremely weak for a period of time."    

    

"Gene Condensation Potion, an item that solidifies one's gene energy, leading to the increase in strength."

A myriad of gene-related items flashed across Chu Lin's eyes, but none of them paticularly caught his attention.    

    

Although these items could strengthen the user for a short period of time, they were nevertheless high-risk products that were filled with countless negative side effects.    

    

Chu Lin did not see a need for these sort of things at all.    

    

Thus, he simply swept his gaze through each item, not spending more than three seconds on each one.    

    

Going past the section for the gene medicine, he found himself in the section related to gene artifacts.    

    

This specific section contained many rare items.    

    

After all, gene artifacts could only be created by gene refining experts. Furthermore, the success rate for each creation was not very high either.    

    

Not only that, but the design for each gene artifacts was extremely detailed and much harder to replicate compared to gene pills and medicine.    

    

Despite that, the gene artifacts being auctioned here were not considered to be very exquisite either as most of them were simply embedded with certain beast cores — known to be lower-tier gene artifacts.    

    

Even so, the section for gene artifacts nevertheless attracted the most attention.    

    

Every Awakened Practitioners have one thing in common, and that is their interests in gene artifacts.    

    

"Should I get a gene artifact for you? The golden-banded staff that you are currently using looked rather fragile."    

    

Princess Yi Yun swept her gaze through the row of gene artifacts and whispered to Chu Lin.    

    

Chu Lin shook his head and slowly walked past the section for gene artifacts.    

    

These crude so-called "gene artifacts" were not even as impressive as Chu Lin's semi-finished Bionic Arm.    

    

Chu Lin had no interest in those pieces of junk.    

    

The next section ahead was the one auctioning raw materials and resources.    

    

Although some monsters may drop rare materials, not many Awakened Practitioners held interests in that subject due to the scarcity of gene refining experts.    

    

"The insect powder from the Gale Butterfly has the ability to weaken one's Gene Energy and can be used to create defensive gene artifact."    

    

"The shell of the Thunder Turtle inhibits its strong defensive attribute and affinity for the lightning element gene energy. In addition to its impenetrable defense, it can be used to further enhance an Awakened Practitioner's lightning element."    

    

"The dragon horn of the Dragon Bone Sheep is incomparably sharp. Any contact with its sharp edge will surely leave behind an open wound."

The raw materials dropped by certain mutated beasts caught Chu Lin's interest and piqued his curiosity.    

    

Since the raw materials found in this section were discovered by Awakened Practitioners from all around the world, there would naturally be many strange materials that he had never ever heard of.    

    

Of course, most of the raw materials still needed to be processed by experts before they can even display their full power.    

    

There were a few raw materials that could be used directly, but their effects would be greatly reduced.    

    

As such, the prices of each material in this section were generally lower than gene medicine and gene artifacts sold in the previous two sections.    

    

Even so, there still a few people who were interested in the raw materials.    

    

The reason why gene medicine and gene artifacts were so much more expensive than raw materials was not because of their inferiority.    

    

Instead, it was because gene refining experts were difficult to come by. Even amongst the Roaring Tribe, there was not a single gene refining expert.     

    

After all, gene refining experts were in high demand even in D-ranked gathering grounds.    

    

Thus, how could there be a gene refining expert stationed in a mere E-class tribe?    

    

Chu Lin's gaze continued to sweep through the different raw materials.    

    

"There's no need for you to keep looking in this section. Since our family does not have a gene refining expert, buy these raw materials would be a waste of money."    

    

Yi Yun could not help but remind Chu Lin when she saw how mesmerized he was at the raw materials.    

    

At this moment, a bold idea suddenly appeared in Chu Lin's mind.    

    

Other than gene extraction, he also had the ability to fuse two genes into a stronger one.

These three materials did not cost Chu Lin many Beast Cores, and he successfully purchased them on his first try.    

    

Baffled by Chu Lin's strange decision, Yi Yun had no idea what Chu Lin was doing at all.    

    

The reason why she brought him to the auction house for Awakened Practitioners was so that he could buy a few items that would further increase his strength.    

    

Instead, Chu Lin ended up choosing a bunch of useless raw materials...     

    

If the Roaring Tribe did have a gene refining expert, he could have possibly turned those raw materials into powerful gene artifacts or useful gene medicine.    

    

Since there were no gene refining experts in the Roaring Tribe, however, the raw materials he bought would simply end up as decorations at best, no matter how expensive or valuable they may be.    

    

After returning to Wild Lion Family's territory, Chu Lin did not even pay attention to the frowning Yi Yun as he directly ran back to his room and closed the door.    

    

"Can we really depend on that boy...?"    

    

Yi Yun shook her head and sighed.    

    

Although she did not know whether her decision was correct or not, she no longer had the time to feel conflicted by her past actions.     

    

All she could do now is hope that her luck was not too bad.
