Super Godly Evolution

C32 Pole Technique

C32 Pole Technique

Hearing how the Inheritance Armor could only be activated by someone with the Wild Lion Gene, the Wild Lion Family made it sound like some sort of god-tier armor.

According to what Patriarch Yi Tianya said, none of the Awakened Practitioners of the Wild Lion Family so far could activate this ancient armor, let alone anyone else outside the family.

The armor seemed to be a perfect fit for Chu Lin.

When taking the armor down from the wall, Chu Lin did not notice anything strange about it. The moment he put it on, however, he could suddenly feel the gradual increase in the weight of the armor.

It was as if he was carrying an empty backpack that had suddenly been stuffed with a huge rock.

If Chu Lin had not trained in Yu Zhen's Gravity Field for that period of time, he might have been humiliated this time.

However, at the same time, Chu Lin became certain of a single fact.

The Inheritance Armor was definitely not an ordinary equipment.

Recalling what Patriarch Yi Tianya said prior, Chu Lin proceeded to extract the Wild Lion Gene from Yi Tianya and Yi Yun.

The two of them looked at Chu Lin, who was wearing the armor and gesturing randomly in the air. In a moment of confusion, they stared at one another and were at a loss of words as they did not know what Chu Lin was up to.

After a dozen or so attempts, Chu Lin finally succeeded in extracting the Wild Lion Gene.

Following that, Chu Lin's gaze flickered as the corner of his mouth curled up into a slight smile.

"Hmm... this armor is not bad and quite suitable for my build. It seems that turning back to the ancient ways is the right decision to make. I'll keep this armor with me."

Chu Lin said to the two of them as he performed a set of basic fist techniques.

"But... this armor does not have any uses whatsoever."

Yi Yun said hesitantly.

"I really like the style of this armor. Don't you want to let the Wild Lion Family's Inheritance Armor shine in such an grand occasion?"

Chu Lin smiled.

"Hehe, if Little Brother Chu Lin likes it, then wear it. If you ever change your mind and want to switch to the Golden Lion Armor instead, please don't hesitate to ask. Anyways, I hope you give your utmost effort in the upcoming Gladiator Tournament."

Yi Tianya chuckled.

Following that, he proceeded to select another equipment from the warehouse.

Looking through the assortment of equipment, Chu Lin found a golden-banded staff that seemed to just be an ordinary weapon, not a gene-enhanced weapon.

But as the old saying goes, while the staff may take a month to learn, the sword will take a whole year. As for shooting, it may take an eternity.

The staff is known as one of the easiest weapons to use.

Since the Gladiator Tournament would soon be taking place, it would be too late for Chu Lin to learn how to use other weapons. Thus, he decided to choose the staff as his main weapon as it would take the least amount of time to learn.

Speaking of which, there was also a blade-wielding expert in Wild Lion Family who was also quite adept at pole arts. The expert happened to be the person Chu Lin fought before — Elder Yicheng.

When Chu Lin met up with Hong Moli, he was holding onto his golden-banded staff and equipped with the ancient armor.

Hong Moli's mesmerizing and beautiful face suddenly revealed an astonished expression. She gawked her eyes wide open and gaped her lip in surprise as if she had just seen a ghost.

Following which, a series of soft giggles sounded from her direction.

"Chu Lin... what are you wearing? Hahaha! This is too funny!"

Hong Moli could not stop herself from laughing and asked.

Chu Lin seemed to have predicted that Hong Moli would have such a reaction. Thus, he simply shrugged it out and replied without a care.

"This is exactly what a king would wear."

Over the next few days, Chu Lin kept in touch with Yicheng.

This Wild Lion Family elder was quite dissatisfied with how Chu Lin managed to suppress his strength previously. No matter how he looked at Chu Lin, he did not like Chu Lin one bit. Thus, he decided to put Chu Lin through hell with ruthless training.

However, he did not expect Chu Lin to improve and adapt so quickly.

With the Gladiator Tournament coming up in the next few days, the fact that Chu Lin managed to grasp the basics of the pole technique was already quite a feat in itself.

However, on the third day of learning pole techniques, Elder Yicheng made an astonishing discovery that he could no longer suppress Chu Lin's pole techniques.

As the saying goes, the most dangerous person on the battlefield would either be the youth with limitless potential or the veteran with vast amounts of experience.

Although the basics of the staff techniques were easy to learn, it was nevertheless difficult to master certain important techniques within a short period of time.

However, at this point, the experienced veteran could no longer suppress the young cub.

Other than the fact that Chu Lin's strength was too overwhelming, Chu Lin was extremely precise in each of his attacks — wasting none of his movements as each of them served a purpose.

Every one of his attacks was delicate yet swift.

Constantly laying in wait for the right moment to strike, each attack he threw would land a fatal blow.

It was as if he possessed...

... the eyes of a bloodthirsty wolf.

On this day, Yicheng himself wielded his golden staff and fought against Chu Lin.

The sound of the clashing metals reverberated through the air incessantly, attracted over the warriors of the Wild Lion Family in the surrounding area.

Yicheng not only served as an elder of the Wild Lion Family but was acted as the chief instructor for training the Wild Lion Family warriors.

As such, the elite warriors of the Wild Lion Family were all raised by Elder Yicheng himself and became a well-known elite force even amongst the Roaring Tribe.

Comparing the Roaring Tribe's warriors to the Wild Lion Family's elite warriors would be the same as comparing the logistics unit to the military forces. The difference in strength was a large as the gap between heaven and earth.

Though learning the basic pole techniques may be quite easy, the mastery of such techniques required hard work and even natural talent.

In all his years alive, Elder Yicheng had never seen anyone with such strong comprehension ability.

"Horizontal Nimbus Strike!"

"Sweeping of the Thousand Army!"

"Cyclone of Destruction!"

As Chu Lin threw out a barrage a pole strikes, Elder Yicheng could barely keep up with his attacks now.

Staff techniques were originally created to be a well-balance between offense and defense. With most of its techniques being rather intermediate, it did not possess a sharp killing intent.

When Chu Lin uses those techniques, however, the complete opposite occurs as each of his strikes lingered with his killing intent.

"Thrust of the Iron Pillar!"

*Thump!*

Unable to keep up with Chu Lin's attacks any longer, Elder Yicheng's hands turned numb as his golden staff was knocked into the distance by Chu Lin's fierce strike.

At that instant, Chu Lin thrusted his staff towards Elder Yicheng before stopping an inch away from his face.

"You brat..."

As the sweat dripped down from his forehead, Elder Yicheng lifted his arms and surrendered.

He did not understand what kind of monster Chu Lin was. Never once has anyone seen him use gene energy nor activate his gene abilities.

In contrast to the usual Awakened Practitioner, Chu Lin's style of fighting was more similar to that of the god of war.

Although Elder Yicheng possesed three gene chains, Chu Lin still managed to suppress him with ease.

Even when he did activate his Wild Lion Gene, he still could not put much pressure on Chu Lin.

While using his gene abilities may result in an entirely different outcome, just these few points alone already caused Elder Yicheng to acknowledge Chu Lin's strength.

If Chu Lin's genes were to improve, it certainly would not be a bad idea to tell the Patriarch to recruit him into the Wild Lion Family.

After constantly battling with Chu Lin, Yicheng saw endless potential in his strength and talent. Furthermore, his discipline in learning and never-ending thirst to get stronger added a positive note to his temperament.

If not for his lacking gene talents, he would definitely be the best candidate as the Wild Lion Family's next heir.

"Lord Chu Lin is far too fierce, for even Elder Yicheng is not his match!"

At this point, there's a good chance that Lord Chu Lin might actually attain good results for the Wild Lion Family in the upcoming Gladiator Tournament."

"But that is only in the situation where Gene Energy is not being used. The elite disciples from the Crimson Dragon and Fierce Tiger Family will definitely not hesitate to use their gene abilities in the Gladiator Tournament. Furthermore, some of them have even completed their third gene chain!"
